Dovewing led her patrol through the undergrowth towards the windclan border. Even though Lionblaze was supposed to be leading the patrol he had thought it best that Dovewing lead them because of her senses. not only looking out for a suprise attack from a group of warriors but also for the return of Brambleclaw who by now was probably Bramblestar. As they walked She busied herself by seeing how far she could hear. she could hear Leafpool arguing with Thornclaw, Mille trying to convince Daisy and Purdy to eat. She streched her senses further She could hear Crowfeather and Nightcloud arguing loudly in the middle of the Windclan camp. She saw mothwing and Willowshine treating wounds. Tawnypelt chasing a Frog. A loud crack from not far away made her snap back to her current surroundings. just in time to see Cinderheart leap at Ivypool knocking her former apprentice out of the path of the limb had fallen from a nearby tree, only to be crushed by it herself.
Dovewing heard Lionblaze's yowls for help. But she ignored him. Listening closley for any sign of breathing coming from under the branch. She could hear Cinderheart breathing although the breaths were shallow. "She's alive." She yowled over Lionblaze. "We need to move the limb then!" he said confidently although his voice was laced with fear. He started to push his muzzle under the nearest protruding branch. "No!" Dovewing grabbed the golden tom by the scruff yanking him backwards, away from the branch. "If you move the branch you could hurt her, I don't think she's hurt that badly just dazed. We need a medicine cat." Lionblaze nodded although he didn't look too shure of himself. Dovewing turned her attention towards finding a medicine cat. Leafpool was in camp, She reached out towards windclan Kestrelflight was at the riverclan border, She didn't bother to look for Littlecloud or Mothwing and her apprentice. suddenly she heard two cats coming down stream , still to far away to be seen. Bramblestar and Jayfeather.
Without a second thought she took off running. Ignoring the startled yowls coming from Lionblaze and Ivypool, she practially flew through the undergrowth. she streaked upstream until she came to the place where the stream veered inward. she stopped. It would be quicker to cut across windclan territory, but on the otherhand she didn't want to start a quarrel with windclan. She decided that a life or death situation was important enough to cut through a small portion of Windclan land. She continued on, not slowing until she could scent the two cats ahead of her. She burst through a row of bushes tumbling straight into the two cats.
Dovewing quickly righted herself, she paused for a moment to catch her breath. "Dovewing, What's wrong?!" Bramblestar asked sensing her distress. "A branch fell from a tree farther downstream it would have hit Ivypool except Cinderheart pushed her out of the way, But the branch hit Cinderheart instead. She's still alive. Lionblaze was going to move it but I told him to wait till we had a medicine cat's opinion. I heard you two coming downstream so" Bramblestar cut her off with a wave of his tail. "Show us where she is." he said.
Dovewing wasted no time. She turned and pelted back towards her patrol. she didn't stop at the border and neither of her compainons showed any sign of stopping her. When they got back Jayfeather raced immedtely towards the limb. "Go get Leafpool." he said to know one in particular. "tell her I need thyme, Poppy seeds, comfrey, Reeds, and cobweb. Oh and some dock and marigold for scratches. Dovewing turned to Ivypool who nodded and raced through the bushes back towards camp.
"I need strong warriors to move the branches off of her." Jayfeather told Lionblaze. Dovewing listened for a moment. "Sandstorm's hunting patrol is close by." she told Lionblaze gesturing with her tail in the general direction. Lionbaze turned and pelted in the direction she had indicated. "Dovewing, you're smaller than most warriors. Bramblestar you lift the branches on that side and Dovewing you crawl under. I need to know where the limb landed on her." both Dovewing and Bramblestar nodded. Bramblestar lifted three branches leaving enough space for her to crawl under the limb. Immedately she noticed that the actual limb wasn't touching the ground. She crawled forward towards the limp grey shape a few tail-lengths down the limb. At first it looked like nothing had hit the dark warrior, but then she noticed something one of the protruding branches had fallen right over her hind leg pinning it to the ground.
