I looked around me to see I was in the same place I was the last time I'd met Nina.

"Nina?" I called out looking around.

Sobbing was coming from the left and I turned to see Nina huddled up in a corner hugging her legs to her chest.

I rushed over to her and sat down in front of her. "Nina." I muttered extending my arm out to touch her.

"Don't touch me!" She sobbed. "Look what I've done to you." She muttered.

I looked up to see a mirror materialise in front of me and I gasped at the girl staring back.

She looked so run down and beaten. Bruises covered almost every part of her and her face was thin enough to see her cheek bones prodding out.

"That's me?" I muttered, reaching up to touch my face and watched as the girl in the reflection did the same.

"I'm so sorry Erika. I should have tried harder to control myself. I should have." Her sentence broke off into a sob.

I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and hugged her to me softly. "It's okay Nina. I understand what happened honest. I'll be fine."

She shook her head furiously. "No it's not okay. And now because of me you and Dark got into a fight and he ran off." She muttered.

"I'm sure he'll come back."

Nina sighed and kept her face hidden from me.

I don't know how long I was out for but by the time I woke up it was the middle of the night, possibly even early in the morning. Sitting up I realised I felt a lot better and pushed myself out of bed and went to the bathroom to have a shower.

Stepping out of the bathroom I looked around my destroyed room. Something laying on my pillow caught my eye. It was one of the shirts I'd given to Dark along with a choker made out what looked like two of his wings' feathers.

I bit back the tears and picked it up. Once I'd touched it a gap formed between them, just enough for me to fit it around my neck. It closed up once I had it on and it sat perfectly around my neck, not to tight and not too loose.

Sighing I began to clean up my room and throw out all the broken things. By the time I'd finished the sun had already started to rise.

I looked around the room and found my phone. Picking it up I dialed the familiar number and pressed it to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Uh hi, is Daisuke there?"

"Yes he is, who is calling?"

"Erika."

"Alright Erika I'll just get him for you."

"Thank you."

...

"Erika?"

"Hi Dai."

"How's Dark is he okay? I haven't heard from you in three days so I was starting to worry."

"Wait, Dark's not there with you?"

"No. Why? Isn't he with you?"

"He and I got into a fight and he took off I thought he would have gone to you. Wait three days?!"

"Yeah three days."

"Oh god she really drained me."

"So Dark's not with you?"

"No."

"Okay I'll be over as soon as I can and we'll go looking for him."

"Alright see you soon."

I hung up the phone and went back over to my bed and laid down with a sigh.

'Nina? You there.'

The silence that answered meant that she must have still been upset about what happened.

'Look Nina I know you're still upset but I'm going to need you soon to look for Dark.'

No. I refuse to change with you.

'Nina! God dammit woman Dark is missing and he is still hurt I need to find him!'

Why bother?

'Because I love him!'

Bout time you admitted it!

I blushed realising what I had said and shook my head.

The knock at the door broke my train of thought and I rushed down to answer it. "Hi Dai."

"Hi, ready to go?" He asked.

I nodded. "Just a sec."

'Come on Nina I need you. Please.'

I slowly felt myself change and before I knew it I was in Nina's mind.

"Hi Daisuke. Nice to finally meet you face to face." She said with a smile.

"So you're Nina?" He asked.

She nodded and took his hand. "Hold on tight." She stated as she let her wings unfold and she shot up into the air.

They looked for hours on end but still no sight of him.

"Could you have any idea where he might be?" Nina asked looking to Daisuke.

He shook his head and sighed. "I hope he's okay." He muttered.

'Nina! Try the abandoned house on the edge of town. He said he liked to go there to think.'

Nina nodded and took off in that direction.

"Where are we going?" Daisuke asked.

"Abandoned house." Nina stated keeping her mind clear as she flew through the skies.

'That's it there!' I yelled.

Nina looked down and smiled and began to slowly descend towards the roof. She landed softly through the hole in the roof into one of the upstairs bedrooms and let me take back over.

"Dai you check this floor I'll check downstairs." I said as I rushed out the door and down the hallway to the stairs.

"Dark?" I called out. "Dark are you there?" I asked.

I waited to hear if there were any response but there was nothing. Sighing I continued my journey through the house till I came across the basement door. I tried the handle but it didn't work so instead I kicked near where the handle was and the door flew open.

"Dark?" I called out again.

I descended the stairs and gasped at what I saw.

Dark was passed out on the floor in a pool of blood. He looked sickly pale and on the verge of death.

Oh my god. Nina muttered.

"Oh no." I muttered rushing over to him and collapsing in front of him.

Hesitantly I picked up his head and rested it in my lap. He was still breathing, just barely.

"Daisuke! Quick!" I called out in a strangled sob.

I heard him come rushing down the stairs and stop just behind me. "Dark." He muttered.

Nina changed back with me and she picked him up. "Can you help me a sec?" She asked.

Daisuke nodded and helped Nina pick him up so that he was clutched tightly in one of her arms. She gestured for him to come over and she took a hold of him and flew them back to Erika's. When she landed she let go of Daisuke and rushed Dark to Erika's bed and sat in front of him.

"Dai go into the bathroom and grab out the disinfectant, the cream, some bandages and a shit load of wet towels and quick!" She ordered turning Dark over so that he was laying on his stomach with his head to the side so that he could still breathe.

Daisuke came back with everything she'd asked for and laid them out next to her. She ripped Dark's shirt off his back and looked at the gash.

At least it wasn't as bad as she thought. He'd just lost a lot of blood.

Nina began to mop up all the dry blood with the wet towel and cleaned it up so that she'd be able to put the cream and disinfectant over it.

Once his back was bandaged up she lifted him up so that he was then laying on his side.

"Erika, now I'm going to have to do something you probably won't like but it's the only way I can help him." Nina said aloud.

'Do whatever you have to just save him!' I sobbed.

She nodded an leaned down so that her and Dark were face to face and sighed. Leaning closer she pressed a kiss to his lips and focused all her energy on the kiss. A soft spark went between the two of them and Nina pulled away and changed back into me.

That's all I can do for now. Hopefully within the next few minutes he'll wake up.

I nodded and softly began to stroke Dark's hair. "Please be okay." I muttered.

Daisuke came and sat next to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder and brought me closer to him. "It's Dark. Nothing can bring him down." He said trying to cheer me up.

I nodded and laid my head on his shoulder. "I hope so."

"Already trying to steal her away from me?" A voice croaked.

I gasped and looked down to see Dark looking up at the two of us with a small smirk.

"Dark." I sighed happily.

"Hi." He croaked.

A soft sob escaped my lips and I leaned down to press a kiss to his forehead. "Oh thank god." I cried.

Daisuke smiled at the two of us. "I was so worried about you." He muttered flicking Dark softly on the head.

Dark chuckled and pushed himself up into a sitting position. "So who rescued me?" He asked looking between the two of us.

"Nina did." I muttered.

His eyes widened. "What?" He muttered.

I nodded. "I couldn't exactly carry the both of you back all the way from across town could I?" I asked with a small smile.

"Well uh, tell her thanks." He said still staring at me in bewilderment.

You're welcome asshole.

"Be nice!" I snapped at her.

Daisuke and Dark both gave me an odd look.

I blushed and shook my head. "She said you're welcome."

Dark nodded and turned to look at Daisuke. "Could you give us a minute please?" He asked.

Dai smiled and nodded. "I should head home anyway. It's pretty late and mums worried about you so I'll tell her you're okay and come back tomorrow." He said waving goodbye.

Dark chuckled nervously and looked at me with a small smile.

I smiled back and leaned over to kiss him with as much emotion as I could. "I was so worried about you." I muttered when we pulled away.

He pushed my bangs out of my face. "Now you know how I felt when I saw you after Nina fought off Krad."

Sighing I looked down. "I know how you felt then as well Dark. It's just, say the tables were turned and instead of you I loved Daisuke. And you'd snapped like that and I wanted to kill you for hurting him. Daisuke would have defended you wouldn't he?" I asked.

Dark nodded and smiled at me.

"I mean yes I understand that you were angry that Nina had hurt me but."

"Erika." He said cutting me off.

"It was bound to happen, clearly Nina and Krad have a history that I don't know about and she wanted revenge."

"Erika." He interrupted again.

"And fighting with you I noticed angered her cause she doesn't want to fight with the one I love but you gotta understand."

"Kitten." He said placing his hand my shoulder.

"What?" I asked getting annoyed that he kept interrupting me.

"I love you too." He said.

I furrowed my brow in confusion but the realised I'd admitted to loving him twice in my big speech. A huge grin grew across my face and I leaned in to kiss him with all my might. I pulled away and gasped in pain falling on to my back on the bed.

"Erika!" Dark called looking me over with concern.

It felt like I was being torn in two and then suddenly the pain disappeared. Sitting up I held my head in my hand. "What the hell was that?" I muttered.

"Erika." Nina's soft voice called.

I looked up to see a transparent version of her standing in front of me. "Oh no." I muttered.

She smiled sadly at me then turned to face Dark with a smirk. "Bout time you admitted to loving her jerk." She laughed.

Dark rolled his eyes at her.

"I don't want you to go." I muttered sadly.

She turned back to look at me. "I know. But you'll see me again, when you and Dark decide to have children of your own. Make sure it's a girl!" She said pointing her finger accusingly at me.

I laughed sadly and wiped away my tears. "I'm going to miss you."

"I'll miss you too." She said. "But I have to go now." She turned to Dark and leaned down to whisper in his ear before disappearing.

"What did she say?" I asked

He smiled sadly at me. "She told me to tell you what her and I spoke about that night." He said.

I raised my eyebrow. "I thought she'd asked about you're stealing an what not?" I asked.

He shook his head and laughed. "No." He said. "She told me that she wouldn't be with you for much longer and that she wanted me I look after you when she was gone. She said she was trusting me with your life and to keep you happy." He explained then he smiled. "She said that you were falling in love with someone and that I was a lucky man. Now I understand." He said smiling to me.

"Understand what?" I asked.

"Why I'm a lucky man. Because the person you were falling in love with was me. And that has to make me the luckiest man in the world." He murmured leaning across to give me another passionate kiss.
