Hey diddle diddle...

Rin hated to admit it, but spending the day with Mr. Mizushima was actually proving to be more fun than she had had in so long of a time that she couldn't really remember. She couldn't afford to have fun in her line of work; she had criminals to catch.

To his credit though, He was proving to be extremely knowledgeable about everything they passed as they moved from one museum to another, pointing out statues and paintings and artifacts, rattling off rapid fire information on each piece as if he'd researched every individual one.

"That one is by Kuisaka, Namiko; her masterpiece. She painted it in 1876, right before her death. If the Kuma Bandit was going to go after something in this little backwater museum, it would be that; he's got a soft spot for illustrations of myths. He's almost a romantic, if you step back and look at all the things he's stolen, as a sum of their parts, rather than as individuals. Victorian statues of beautiful maidens, scrolls depicting myths and folklore. Rare editions of fairytales."

Rin listened in rapt attention, taking in all this information she never would have found on her own about the mysterious bandit. "How did you figure all this out?" She asked in wonder.

He shrugged slightly, flipping a strand of shockingly red hair over his shoulder. "I've had decades to study the man and his particularities." He turned then, to look at her out of the corner of one emerald green eye. "What I haven't figured out though, Detective-Chan, is you. And what your role is here. Tell me: Why are you so interested in catching the bandit? There are many greater things a beautiful young woman could devote her life to then chasing shadows."

"Because he is a witness to a crime, Mizushima-sama; and I need his help to catch a criminal."

Shippou blinked languidly for a long moment, the only real word he seemed to be able to form in reply to that blunt admission being: "What?"

And she nodded her head conformation that, yes, he did indeed hear her correctly. "You see, The Kuma Bandit is the only viable witness to a murder."

His eyes narrowed at that as he quickly regained his wits. "Implying... that there is another."

"There is. Me."

Note: Oh my goodness you guys. I'm alive, I promise; I'm just exceedingly broke, and so, Cannot afford to pay my internet bill. I'm actually down at the local tea parlor using their Wifi to bring you this update. I'm really sorry that I can't find the time to update more, but between 2 Jobs, and 2 roommates in an 800 square foot flat, I don't have a moment at all to write.
