Me: Hiya. If you guys will excuse my most recent absence that would be lovely. I believe I mentioned it a while ago but I don't have a computer at the moment so updating is insanely hard. This also means that editing is a bitch so if you guys see any grammar mistakes, don't hold it to me and let me know about it. Oh and before I forget, I have some upsetting news. Lightning is currently taking a "vacation". He's very upset with me so it might take a while for him to cool down and come home but hell be back eventually...I hope. I can't personally respond to everyone's reviews, so if just like to give a big shout out to everyone who followed, favorites or reviewed. Seriously guys, your support keeps me from completely abandoning this whole thing. Anyways~ On to the story!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Yugioh or its characters, cuse lets face it, if I did, shit would be a hell of a lot different.

Why? Why did fate seem to want me riding in a car with the prince of ice? Either fate really didn't like me, or it had a sick sense of humor. I mean seriously, this car ride was no less awkward then the one before it. I was far to near Kaiba for my comfort and just knowing he was there made my heart skip a beat and my skin flush a little redder. At least he wasn't staring at me this time.
I don't know whether it was my good luck or someone else's bad luck, but the prince of ice was glaring at his laptop as he quickly and furiously launched off email after email I could only assume were directed at some poor employees who had screwed up. I did feel bad for whoever was on the other end of Kaibas' fury, it was just nice being the one who didn't have to deal with it for a change. Trust me, it was never a good thing to have Kaiba on your bad side, I'd learned that the hard way many times.
It was all good by me though that I didn't have to worry about awkward states or snide remarks. The hotel may have only been fifteen minutes away, but it was nice to just tune out of reality and think of nothing but Duel Monsters and video games. I could vaguely hear Mokuba and Noah from my half daydreaming state. They seemed to be having an animated conversation about which sport was cooler, surfing or skateboarding. Mokuba was on the side of surfing, and surprisingly enough, Noah was on the side of skateboarding. Mokuba and sports I could understand. He was tan and athletic and had more muscles then he let on. Noah on the other hand, didn't look like he was capable of lifting a book bigger then the final volume of the Harry Potter series, let alone shred a half-pipe. Then again, as I knew only to well, looks could be deceiving and sometimes what you originally thought isn't what really exists. I smiled a little at the thought of Noah skateboarding and silently listened to the boys conversation for the rest of the trip.

When we got to the hotel, the lobby was pretty much empty except for an elderly couple playing Mahjongg in the corner. They didn't even give us a second glance as we trooped up to the reception counter. The receptionist on duty was a pretty brunette with deep chocolate eyes and a sparkle in her eyes. She gave a bright cherry smile to the entire group, which the boys and I returned but Kaiba with et chose to ignore it or he didn't bother looking to begin with.
"Hi, welcome to the Holiday Inn. Would you like to book a room?"
Kaiba snorted and continued to type, not even looking up from his laptop. "Of corse we want a room. What do you think we're here to do, sight see?"
The receptionist smile fell and I shot Kaiba a glare that could rival one of his. "Don't worry bout him," I said turning back to the receptionist. "He's just grumpy cuse he's got sand in his underwear."
Noah and Mokuba gasped and broke into giggles and the receptionist blushed and looked like she was trying not to laugh. I could feel Kaiba burning a hole in the back of my head an I knew u was gonna pay for the insult later, but right now, the looks on everyone's faces was enough for me. And hey, sometimes it didn't hurt to bring the jerks ego down a notch. I focused my attention back on the girl in front of me. "So, back to booking rooms. We'll need four of 'em please."
"Certainly. Would you like them next to each other?"
"Yes, that'd be great."
"Alright let me see what I can do." She quickly started punching keys on her keyboard and after a minute he smiled and looked back up at me. "I have four rooms next to each other on the third floor. All four have balconies overlooking the ocean. Will you be staying more than one night?"
"No. Only one."
"Okay. With four rooms and one night that makes your total about three hundred and sixty seven dollars."
Damn, that was. Lot more than I was expecting. Still, even if I did pay the fee, I would still have a little left over for lunch and dinner today. I quietly counted out four one hundred dollar bills and handed them to the girl, who smiled and handed me four room keys. "They should all work on any of the four room doors."
I gave a gratefully bright smile. "Thank you so much for all your help."
She started blushing and stuttering.
"N-no problem. Have a nice stay."
"You too." I shot her one last smile as I hearses the boys out the door and towards the limo. I was aware of her stare on my back the whole way outside.
I gave a small smile. She was cute and sweet, but she wasn't my type. I fact girls in general weren't my type. I know that earlier I said I liked talking to Tristan about girls and boobs and all that, but in all honesty, I only did that as a cover-up. I didn't swing straight, and as far as I knew, no one knew about my sexual preferences but me. It honestly wouldn't be such a big deal what with all my friends being gay, but then I would have to worry about them trying to set me up with every nice gay guy they met and pretty soon, something would go wrong. Not to mention there were other...complications that would be a problem if I ever came out. Besides, someone needed to act like the straight guy in our insane group if friends.
I broke out of my silent thoughts when I heard Mokuba begging Kaiba for something. "Please big brother? It's been ages since I've been there and Noah's NEVER been there before. Pretty please?" I had to give that boy credit where it was due. He could make puppy dog eyes that were almost as compelling as mine. Almost, but not quite. Still it got him what he wanted.
Kaiba sighed. He looked like he would rather jump off a cliff then go where ever Mokuba wanted to go, but as usual, Mokuba ended up winning the battle of the brothers. "Fine. We'll go to the boardwalk. Just don't wander off when we get there." Oh joy. Fun times were sure to ensue with this new plan.

Another twenty minute car ride and we ended up at the boardwalk. In all honesty, I'd never been here before and everything was new to me. It was bright and loud and exciting and I couldn't tear my eyes from it. I mean, come on, it even had a freaking amusement park for gods sake, with one of the largest Ferris wheels I'd ever seen positioned right in the center.
Mokuba and Noah were every bit as thrilled as I was if the screams of delight were anything to go off of. They practically skipped ahead of us as we made our was down the boardwalk. They were enthrall ex with everything they saw, from the glass blowers, to the cinnamon roll baker to the hip hop dancers performing in front of a gift shop. They looked like a couple of five year olds on Christmas, and it warmed my heart. It was nice to know that they could experience things like this I their childhood.
I couldn't get enough of everything. My eyes were wandering back and forth so fast I thought they might actually pop out of my head. There was so much to see an so little time to see it all. It was so overwhelming, but in a good way. It was like a modern wonderland, just without the taking animals and objects.
We spent about an hour walking around and looking at all the shops, trying samples of free food and watching the street performances. and for a moment, even though he was lagging behind and choosing to stay out of the fun, it wasn't as awkward hanging out near Kaiba. You know, until Mokuba chimed in with a seemingly harmless request.
"Big brother, can we go on the Ferris wheel?

It's not the same without with out Lightning's smart ass remarks. I honestly don't know how to close without him. SO I'm bringing in an old friend to help end this chapter. Come on, say hi.
Bakura: Your a bloody wanker.
Me: awwww, I love you too.
Bakura: Americans are bloody idjits.
Me: idjits is such a mean word. We prefer air headed or misinterpreted. But anyways would you please help me close this chapter.
Bakura: *sigh* fine. Thank you for reading this piece of drivel she calls a story.
Me: Yes, thank you. For reading this, I'll send a shirtless Bakura to your location with a basket of cookies.
