Oath Special: Fight Against bullying!
First off I'd like to state this is not an actual chapter but a special. Not a christmas special but a thing against bullying and violence. A friend of mine got jumped today and it made me furious! So as to prevent myself from doing something very stupid. I'm writing this chapter. Right now I'm hoping she didn't get any serious injuries(or I'll be doing a lot of specials like this). So on with the special! Warning there will be severe bullying to Richard and severe punishment to those bullies. Also this will be the first chapter with Traught seeing as how it won.
Raven: I still say I should've won.
ME: Oh shut it you
Richard sat in his class staring at the blackboard; bored out of his mind. "Oh Ricky..." A boy behind him whispered in a sing song voice. Richard rolled his eyes at the boy's call. "You get my homework for sixth period done yet?" The boy asked in the same whispered voice. Richard sighed and continued to listen to the teacher ramble on and on about chemistry. Now don't get him wrong Richard liked science but chemistry was always more of Wally's thing then his own. Hell even Roy paid more attention in chemistry then he did, but that probably had something to do with the fact that he's basically their leader and all.
The boy poked Richard's shoulder with a freshly sharpened pencil with a nice point. Richard tried his best to ignore the bigger boy but after six or seven pokes he was tempted to turn around. Luckily the bell rang before he could do anything stupid. He grabbed his stuff and dashed out the door at a speed that would make Wally say 'I taught him that.'.
He tried to get to his sixth period class before the older boy could catch up with him but luck was not on his side because apparently the boys friends were waiting outside the room for him; apparently they had ditched their fifth period classes to take an extended lunch. They shoved him against the wall as he tried to dash past them. "Where you going Ricky-boy?" The kid from his class asked slowly exiting the room. "To sixth period Nick." Richard responded with a roll of his eyes. He had become used to this treatment after having been in the school for a few weeks.
Sure, had made it very clear that if him or his brothers had any problems to come see her and she'd take care of it. This of course included any form of bullying which was unfortunately happening to him now. He could've taken them down using his awesome hero skills or disappeared like the ninja he was; but he didn't. Hell he didn't even tell Roy and Wally.
His bully was sixteen yearold Nick Sanders(completely a fictional name). Nick was captain of the Blood Fang Academy's football team as well as one of the sectional leaders of the gang. He stood six feet tall and was extremely fit and knew how to throw a punch. "Well what about my homework you said you'd do for me?" Nick asked with a twisted smile on his face. "I told you already; I'm not going to do any of your bloody homework!" Richard spat at the bully. "Ooooh looks like poor Ricky still hasn't figure it out yet." Nick said sadly turning to his friends who had cornered Richard.
"He doesn't get a choice." Nick said turning around swiftly and punching Richard in the stomach. Even with years of experience in the hero field an unexpected punch still hurt like hell. Then followed with the rest of Richard's usual beating. Yes it had been going on so long that it was actually a normal occurrence. No student or teacher dared to interfere in fear of what Nick would do to them.
Three hours later Richard dragged his feet into his home. He had casually told Roy that he'd rather walk then ride with him today because it was such a great day. Roy didn't seem to buy it but let him do what he wanted; as long as he got home safely within the hour. To bad it was pouring said day or else he might've actually ridden with Roy and had been able to hide his injuries.
He creapt through the house knowing that both of his brothers would be down in the H.Q working on various equipment. He entered his room and carefully shut the door. Unbeknownst to him, Roy had been standing in the kitchen with Wally and Artemis. "See what I mean guys? He didn't even notice us!" Wally exclaimed just low enough for the duo to hear him. "You're right, Richard would've seen us; unless something's truly wrong." Roy agreed with a nod. "Well then let's go find out." Artemis demanded. Her and Richard had been going out for a good two months and honestly it had been amazing.
However in their two months of dating she had never seen her boyfriend walk through so unguarded. "Wait! Richard obviously doesn't want us to know what's wrong so we have to be careful." Roy stated leading the speedster and archer up the stairs. They crept up stealthily which Wally had greatly improved upon. They put their ears to Richard's door and listened intently.
Richard sighed putting on his fresh dry shirt. He had just stripped himself of his drenched clothing and bandaged all of his bruises up. If Wally or Roy asked he'd tell them it was from last nights patrol. They'd buy it if he made it sound good enough. "Damn it!" He declared his frustration reaching it's peak. "Damn that fucking Nick! Next time he tells me to do his damn homework; I'm going to shove it down his fucking throat!" He screeched surprising the three easedroppers. Richard was never one to curse and even if he did it was merely one word at a time; so hearing their little bird use so many curse words in one sentence was unnerving.
"I just hope that Wally and Roy buy the excuse of last nights patrol and that I forgot about it." He muttered shaking his head. That was all the trio needed to hear before they backed off to plan. The three of them were smart enough to figure out Richard's dellima without any more information. Their little bird was being bullied. Keyword in that sentence: was! They would fix the problem the only way they knew how. With lots of violence and intimidation!
The next day Richard exited his fifth period class and as usual Nick and his goons were there waiting for him. "Get my homework done yet?" Nick sneered to which Richard shook his head. "We've been over this Nick. I'm not going to do your damn homework!" Richard spat at the bully. "Aww looks like Ricky-boy needs another reminder about who runs things here!" Nick said as he and his friends took a step towards Richard. Richard gulped slightly and prepared himself for another beating while simultaneously trying to find an excuse to please his brothers. He was already lucky that they bought his last excuse.
Nick raised his hand and Richard closed his eyes; waiting for the punch that would never come. After a moment passed; Richard opened his eyes to see Roy standing behind Nick his hand around Nick's wrist. "So your the dirtbag that's been bullying my little brother huh?" Roy asked with a sadistic smile. "Rain." Richard managed to choke out. "Oh so big brother Rain wants to get his ass kicked to huh?" Nick asked with a sneer towards Roy. "He's not the only one!" Wally's voice said from behind another guy. "Wade?" Richard asked slightly stunned.
"Oh look the Blake brothers all want to get their asses kicked together!" He snarled seeing Wally. "The only ones that are going to be getting an ass kicking is you and your little cronies!" A female's voice echoed. "Artemis?!" Richard asked now completely stunned. There in a green mid top and skirt was Artemis. Her long blonde hair flowed down her back and she looked pissed. "We'll be talking about this once we get home." Roy told Richard to which Richard gulped but nodded. "But for now; LET'S KICK SOME ASS!" He declared flipping Nick over his shoulder.
The beating that Nick received is so severe I am not allowed to write it because it so so violently graphic so...
Roy, Richard, Wally and Artemis all sat in Oath's living room. "So when were you gonna tell us that you were being bullied?" Roy asked in his leader voice. Richard gulped and rubbed the back of his head. "Next week?" Richard tried only for Wally to snort. "Ya right. Richard knowing you; you probably wouldn't have ever told us." Wally replied with a roll of his eyes. "Well what was I supposed to do? Tell you guys, I was being bullied and be that defenseless child, I was back with Bruce?" Richard exclaimed jumping to his feet.
It took a moment for Richard's words to sink in but when it did Artemis jumped up and embraced Richard. "We all know you're not a defenseless child bird-boy. You've proven it on many occasions." She commented softly knowing exactly how it fealt to be in his situation. Richard had been the one to torture her bullies as Nightwing until they gave it up. "Artemis is right, Richard." Roy said standing up with Wally. "Ya just because you let someone know doesn't mean that your weak." Wally chimed in.
"I'm sorry guys." Richard whispered tears running down his face. Wally wrapped his arms around Richard and Artemis. "It's ok, bro. We understand why you didn't tell us." He whispered gently. Roy sighed and took a moment before joining the group hug. "Ya, but next time promise you'll tell us; if you're being bullied so we can deal with it before it can get out of hand." Roy somewhat ordered in his soft brother voice. "I promise." Richard said softly.
"What's this about Richard being bullied?" A new voice broke in. "Oh no." Richard whispered. The group turned to see Slade, Virgil and Richie standing there. They had been on a week long training trip because Slade thought they needed some practice without their powers and gadgets. The group hug broke and before Richard could cover it up, Wally spoke. "Well you see Dickie-bird here has been bullied for these past few weeks and didn't bother to tell anyone about it."
"Wally!" Richard exclaimed as Slade got a very dark look on his face. Virgil and Richie all shared similar looks. "Wallace, I'll expect a full report on his bullies so that I can deal with them accordingly." Slade said with an evil glint in his eye. Virgil rubbed his hands creating a jolt of electricity. "We want in on this to Slade." He commented making Richie nod in agreement. "Ya, no one touches my idol and gets away with it!" Richie exclaimed. "Very well then apprentices, come along; we have lots of planning to do!" Slade said leading the ultimate tag team upstairs.
"Wally!" Richard exclaimed once more. Wally looked at Richard with a face of utmost confusion. "What?!" He asked not understanding the situation. "You just sent those thugs to their deaths!" Roy said in agreement. "Nah, I mean Slade doesn't kill anymore remember?" Wally asked causing Artemis to face palm. "He said he was only in a temporary retirement." She said shaking her head. "Well Virgil and Richie won't let him kill right?" Wally asked as everyone looked at him exasperated. "Dude they just went through their first one week training session with him!" Roy declared loudly.
"Ya! Their basically his puppets for the next week!" Richard and Artemis shouted together. "Oh well then I guess those guys will learn never to bully again; that is if they survive them. I mean we left them pretty badly beaten." Wally said with a shrug. Artemis groaned not seeing the unsuspecting bird sneaking up to her. He smirked as he pressed his lips to hers causing her to gasp in shock. Well she wasn't the only one. Roy and Wally were also gasping in shock. Wally's mouth was wide open making him look like a fish.
When Richard released his lips from hers he smiled. "What was that for? Not that I'm complaining." Artemis asked still rather shocked. Her and Richard had only kissed a handful of times and it was normally during an intimate mood. "That's the same reward you gave me when I helped you. Just thought I'd repay the favor." He said with a smirk. "Richard, I thought we said your not allowed to kiss until your fifteen?!" Roy yelled causing Richard to turn to him and Wally with an evil grin on his face.
"Oh don't feel left out Roy. Theres plenty for you and Wally to." He said mockingly. "Um I don't think so. Wouldn't look so good if Supey caught you kissing his man." Artemis said grabbing his arm. The four of them chuckled while Slade and his two apprentices(puppets really) planned out the 'accidental' deaths of a few bullies.
Alright guys thanks for reading. Right now my friend is in the hospital getting checked out and making sure she's unharmed. I'd appreciate it if you dropped a review if you agree against bullying. Honestly I'm sorry for not writing an actual chapter and for the spoilers but I needed to write and Oath was the best way possible. I'm going to go have a cigarette to calm my nerves but have a good night and remember. Bullying of any kind is disgusting and disgraceful. To quote Captain America: I hate a bully!
