MARIA ROBOTNIK'S RETURN
CHAPTER 10: A DATE, A FIGHT AND A DANCING SHADOW? (PART 2 0F 2)
"Where am I?" Maria asked herself as she woke up, she had no memory of what happened to her or grandfather but she soon found herself in a large room with only one window "h-hello?"
"Greetings Maria!" a familiar voice said as it echoed throughout the room.
"Ivo? Is that you?" she asked "where are you? And where am I?"
"Simple my hedgehog cousin" the doctor said "you are in my own private jail for my prisoners! Gerald brought you here by himself!" Maria suddenly gasped at the news of what her grandfather did to her.
"Why did he bring me here?" she asked.
"I needed you as a decoy for when that annoying Sonic and his friends come here to rescue while I steal the master emerald and use it for my latest ultimate weapon!" Eggman said before laughing maniacly.
"And that is?" Maria asked with her arms crossed, the laughing stopped and Eggman realized that he didn't have his weapon ready yet "you don't have one, do you?"
"Of course I do!" Ivo yelled "it's…in the back of the egg carrier! I'm going to get it right now!" there were sudden footsteps and the slam of a door closing.
"The doctor will be right back" Metal Sonic said on the microphone "he just had to…Get his weapon! Now suffer through this music of Bokkun singing!"
"Hooray!" Bokkun said as he began to sing "Oh! Ninety nine bottles of pop on the wall! Ninety nines bottles of pop!" Maria just sat down and crossed her arms and waited for her friends to rescue her.
"Oh Shadow, please be here soon" Maria said to herself.
Meanwhile…
"You're too slow!" Sonic said as he raced Silver in Casino Park Zone, the two hedgehogs had challenged each other to see who was the fastest and so far, Sonic was winning "try to keep up Silv!"
"I'm going to make you eat those words Sonic!" Silver said as he began to catch up until he saw something that he would normally see from a certain emo hedgehog and stopped in his tracks, Shadow was tearing the entire zone from piece to piece to find Eggman "hey Shadow! You okay?"
"No I am not okay!" Shadow yelled as he finished looking through the zone "I am trying to find Eggman and force him to tell me what he's up to or I'll rip off his mustache!"
"If you're here, who's with Maria?" Sonic asked as he passed by Silver, Shadow suddenly remembered that traitor Gerald was with her.
"Gerald" Shadow muttered under his breath.
"Gerald?" Sonic asked "is Gerald with her?" Shadow turned around and ran off "wonder where he's going? Come on Silver!" the blue blur took off with Silver following him and Shadow, the black blur turned around to see them and went even faster.
"Hey Shadow! Wait up!" Silver said as they caught up "we can help you find him and Maria!" Shadow looked at the two and smirked, Sonic and Silver knew there was price when helping him.
"And you can say Sonic is a nerd for three months straight!" Sonic said.
"Keep going" Shadow said.
"And I will buy you and Maria lunch as well" Sonic said.
"And?"
"And I will give myself a wedgie for the rest of the week".
"What about you Silver?" the two looked at him to see a blank expression on his face.
"I will attend your and Maria's wedding in the future" Silver said "while I wear a fish suit".
"Deal" Shadow said "come on!" the three hedgehogs quickly ran off to find their friend and Dr. Eggman.
Meanwhile…
"Metal Sonic, bring me a drink of water will you?" Gerald asked the robotic hedgehog across the room, Metal sonic gave a groan and got up from his seat to do so "thank you".
"Yeah, whatever" Metal Sonic said as he walked past a picture of him, he picked saw it and picked it up to see himself with two people he once knew.
FOREVER A FAMILY: It read, the picture showed him being annoyed by Bokkun, Docoe and Bocoe arguing with Orbot and Cubot slapping each other and Eggman face-palming himself, the robot shook his head and went to get Gerald's water.
"Wonder why Eggman didn't build a Metal Shadow" Gerald said to himself "it could be useful if Shadow attacks".
"Ain't going to happen Gerald" Orbot said from a control panel "he say's that another metal hedgie will bring trouble! And he hates hedgehogs!"
"What?" Gerald asked in an interested tone, Docoe was at the other side of the room and gave him a look that meant I-am-serious "why not?"
"The doctor hates hedgehogs because of Sonic!" Docoe said "he says that all hedgehogs are useless and stupid and-" he was cut off when Orbot smashed him on the head to remind the robot to not say anything about Egg man's hate of hedgehogs.
"And how long has he had this hatred of hedgehogs?" Gerald asked in a interested tone.
"I don't know" Docoe said as he tried to keep the doctors hatred of hedgehogs a secret.
"Then I'll just ask him when he comes back" Gerald said, the wall to the lab suddenly shook and came down on top of Bocoe and Cubot on the other side of the room with Shadow, Sonic and Silver running through the rubble and charging at Gerald.
"Gerald you traitor!" Shadow said as he grabbed him by the throat, the gray hedgehog struggled and gasped for air as Shadow tighten his grip on his neck "give me one good reason on why I shouldn't beat you to a pulp right now!"
"Because she would be listening right now!" Gerald said "not to mention, watching it!" he pressed down on a button next to him and a TV with Maria on the screen fell down.
"Maria!" Shadow gasped.
"Shadow!" Maria said as she pounded on the ground "help me! Please!"
"Hang on Maria!" Shadow said "listen good Gerald, let her go or else!" the gray hedgehog just chuckled.
"Or what?" Gerald asked.
"This is what!" Silver said as he lifted his hand and used his powers to fly a bookcase onto Docoe.
"Ouch" Docoe said, Gerald just shivered nervously and started to run for his with but Sonic went after him.
"I'll follow Gerald, you guys save Maria!" Sonic said as he chased him.
"On it!" Shadow said before turning back to the screen to see Maria trying to look for an exit "how do we get her out of there?"
"I think we can call Knuckles or Mighty to come and get us" Silver said as he reached for a phone but Shadow stopped him.
"There's not enough time" Shadow said "Eggman will be here with his weapon any minute".
"Make that a second!" Eggman said from behind their backs, the two turned around to him standing next to a giant laser "are you impressed? I call it the egg-freezer 200! It can freeze anything in a matter of seconds and it will stay frozen for all eternity!"
"And what makes you think we'll make you use that?" Silver asked.
"I decided to freeze you as my answer!" Eggman said as he turned to the laser and turned it on and aimed it at Silver "prepare to say good night Silver and Shadow!" the two hedgehogs readied themselves as the laser powered up and shot at them, Shadow grabbed a green chaos emerald from his back and raised it in the air.
"Chaos…Control!" he said as he teleported himself and Silver out of the way before the laser hit them and hit the wall instead, the entire wall froze and Eggman became completely surprised.
"What?! Where did they go?!" he yelled.
"Right here doc!" Shadow said from behind, the old doctor looked behind him and saw the two hedgehogs standing next to the…
"Get away from my egg-stoner 500!" he said as he ran towards them but Shadow pressed down on the button, aimed it at Eggman and shot the old doctor and imprisoning him in a stone suit.
"You filthy hedgehogs!" Eggman said yelled from in the suit "let me out of this suit!"
"First tell us how to get Maria out of that room!" Shadow said.
"Never!" he yelled.
"Then get ready to be scrambled!" a familiar voice said, Shadow and Silver looked behind Eggman to see Mighty and Molly running towards the rock-statue doctor with their fists in the air, Eggman gave his loudest scream yet as Mighty and Molly both punched the doctor into the air.
"I'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!" he yelled as he disappeared into the sky and fell into a jail just a few seconds later.
"Mighty! Molly!" Silver said as he walked towards the armadillo and hedgehog "how did you two find us here?"
"We placed a tracking device in your armpit Silver" Mighty said, Silver suddenly felt a slight buss in his armpit and giggled a little.
"Where's Maria?" Molly asked.
"She's in that room" Shadow said as he pointed to the screen "we don't have must time if we don't find that door now".
"Hello? Guys, we have a frozen wall that we can destroy here!" Mighty said as cracked his knuckles and punched down the wall with it being falling down into a million pieces.
"Shadow? Where are you?" Maria asked as the wall broke and covering her eyes.
"Right here Maria!" Shadow said as he ran towards his friend, Maria was the first to jump onto him and give him a giant hug while Shadow tried to search for signs if she was hurt "are you okay?"
"I'm fine!" she replied as she ended the hug "where's grandfather?"
"Right here" a voice said, everyone turned to see Sonic holding Gerald by the collar of his shirt and Metal Sonic by his robot neck "found these two trying to escape with an egg carrier".
"Great work Sonic!" Molly said "these two are going have to do some hard time in jail".
"Hang on a minute" Maria said as she turned to her grandfather "grandfather, why would you betray us?"
"Because Eggman said Sonic was a villain wanting to rule the world!" Gerald said.
"No I'm not!" Sonic said "I'm a hero, not a villain".
"Then why did Ivo steal the master emerald and use it for his egg-freezer then?" Gerald asked.
"Because that's just Eggman" Sonic said "he steals stuff for his inventions".
"Speaking of the master emerald" Silver said "I'll get it from the machine and give back to Knuckles, guy must've nearly tore apart Angel island to try and find it".
"Ain't that the truth" Sonic said.
"We'll come along with you" Mighty said, while Sonic, Mighty, Molly and Silver went to get the master emerald from the machine, Gerald stood before Shadow and Maria with a nervous face.
"You guys are lucky to stop the machine" Gerald said as his first thing to say "anymore time you guys kept away, it would've been activated by full time to freeze the world permanently".
"That isn't important right now grandfather" Maria said as she crossed her arms "what's important is whether or not to trust you anymore".
"Maria, let just say" Gerald began "I'm sorry, Ivo tricked me into working for him and stealing the master emerald when he had the chance but I had no idea that it would risk destroying the world!"
"So you thought kidnapping me would make things better for you?" Maria asked "why didn't just realize that this all would cost everything you loved! Me, Shadow and the world!" Gerald began to think about life with only himself and the Eggman empire but no Maria or Shadow would never be with him if he and the others had succeeded.
"Maria…I'm sorry" Gerald said as his head went down, Maria and Shadow looked at each other for a moment before walking over to Gerald and hugged him.
"It's okay grandpa" Maria said, across the room, Mighty and Molly were discussing plans about their date.
"Sorry that the date had to be cancelled because of Egg head" Mighty said to her.
"It's okay" Molly said "but let's choose a place that's not so close to where there's going to be an attack, okay?"
"How about twinkle park?" Mighty asked which was good enough to her.
"Okay!" she said as she and the other three pulled on the emerald and pulled it out "got it!"
"Hey shadz!" Sonic said to Shadow "think you can chaos control us to angel island?"
"Indeed" Shadow said as he held up his chaos emerald "chaos…control!" there was a bright flash and they were gone.
