Day Five:
Candy Lux (D2 F 18)
I wake up, and stretch out in my sleeping bag. I look around, and notice that no one else is awake. I guess whoever had watch fell asleep. I wonder who it was. Venom will certainly be mad at them.
My stomach rumbles, so I walk over to the big pile supplies, and dig out some food. I find some dried fruit and rip open the package. Dried fruit is something Venom has hogged from the rest of us. I eat up every last crumb, because this is probably one of the last dried fruit packages, since Venom's arena diet has consisted mostly of dried fruit.
I decide to walk over and rouse Venom. Surely, he'll want to start tribute hunting as soon as possible. I walk over to his sleeping bag. "Wake up, Venom." I say. I pull down the top of his sleeping bag, look inside, and scream.
Twilight Ross (D1 M 17)
I wake up to the sound of Candy screaming at the top of her lungs. I bolt out of my sleeping bag, and see Fusion do the same, next to me. Candy is huddled over Venom's sleeping bag, with a look of terror on her face. Fusion and I approach her slowly to see what's wrong.
I find the trouble a moment after Fusion does, judging by his gasp. The inside of Venom's sleeping bag is covered in blood, and Venom is nowhere to be found. Candy lets out a sniffle. "I woke up a few minutes ago," she mumbles, "and I decided to wake up Venom so we could get going on our tribute hunting, but when I walked over, this is what I found! I have no idea what happened to him!"
A silent tear makes its way down Candy's face, but she quickly wipes it away. She won't want to be seen as a weakling. I had assumed that Candy had always felt the same way about Venom that I did. I always thought she hated him, but didn't show it for fear of being kicked out of the career alliance, like me. I guess I was wrong. Or maybe, it's the shock of finding him dead, because he was the strongest career in our alliance. Or maybe it's because they were district partners, and Venom was the closest thing she had to home in the arena. I see Crimson wake up, out of the corner of my eye, and he joins the three of us.
My mind also wavers to another possibility of Venom's death. Maybe Candy's staging the whole thing. Maybe she killed Venom out of hatred, and is pretending she didn't so that we don't kill her. But, I doubt that, because Candy doesn't seem like the sort of person who would betray her allies. And she'd also have to be a really good actor to pull this off.
As I think of possibilities for Venom's death, I realize something; Isaac's hasn't gathered around Venom's death bed. I walk over to his sleeping bag, and find it vacant."Guys," I say, "Isaac's gone."
Fusion, Crimson, and Candy walk over to Isaac's empty sleeping bag. "You don't think…?" Candy begins.
"Yes, I do," I say to Candy. "Isaac must have killed Venom."
"But why?" She asks.
"I don't know," I say.
And just like that, the career pack has gone from six members to four.
Kaylee Stuart (D8 F 13)
I wake up and stretch my legs. I see Evanna Rae asleep right next to me, and I know that this is the day I must carry out my plan. I must kill Evanna Rae today.
Just as I'm about to strike, she wakes up. "Good morning," she says cheerfully. "Where'd you get the knife from?"
"Uhh, my sponsors," I say.
"But why?" Evanna Rae asks. "What do you need a knife for? You told me that you didn't believe in killing."
I guess this is the right time to spill the beans. I need to let Evanna Rae and the rest of Panem know why I'm about to kill her. "The truth is," I begin, "all that stuff was a lie. I am not a weakling, like you. I am not timid, like you. I am not against killing, like you. I am much stronger than most of the tributes here. I am not afraid to kill. And you, Evanna Rae, are my next victim, because only one can win, and that one has to be me."
Evanna Rae gives me a very quizzical look for a minute, and then bursts out laughing. She thinks I am joking! She thinks I am a weakling! Well this will be her last mistake. I run my knife through Evanna Rae's heart, and hear her cannon boom. Evanna Rae's body collapses to the ground, her last smile still remaining on her face. For a second, I feel kind of bad for killing her, but then I remember that only one can win. "Goodbye, Evanna Rae," I say as I walk out of the room, and to a room on the fifth floor.
Simone Rose (D12 F 16)
I have decided to move to a different room today. I'm all out of food, and I'm a bit bored. I'm actually very surprised that the Gamemakers haven't thrown anything at me yet. Maybe the other parts of this old-fashioned education building have seen more action. Or, maybe the Gamemakers are just waiting for us tributes to kill each other off before they step in.
I gather up my supplies. Since I am all out of food and water, all I have is a knife, a piece of flint, and a jacket. I need to go somewhere to restock. Although, I don't really want to go that far. I have no idea where the careers are, but I know they're not in the auditorium. It would probably be best if I just found another room in the auditorium.
I climb out of the trapdoor and hunt around backstage for a bit. I find a ladder in about a minute, but I can't see where it leads to because it's too dark. I carefully climb it, and see that it leads to a fairly big room. There's a big fridge in it, that I open to find enough food for about a week, if I ration it carefully. There's also something that I'm delighted to see; a window! When I was downstairs, I felt so disconnected from everyone else. Now that I have a window, I'm reminded more of the outdoors. This window just brings a better mood about me.
Isaac Lysander (D9 M 18)
I wake up, and look out the window. I can tell it's sometime in the afternoon. When I got to this room on the third floor, I collapsed from fatigue. I had been awake for nearly two days, so I needed a good sleep. Now, I open the three bags to see what I have. I find a package of nuts, two packages of crackers, three bottles of water, a sleeping bag, a jacket, a pair of night vision goggles, a first aid kit, and my spear. If I eat it rationally, I can probably last about two days with it. I made sure to eat a lot before I left yesterday, so that I wouldn't have to eat too much today. I also do a little hunting around the room, and find a turkey sandwich, a bag of chips, and a water bottle in a mini-fridge. Wonderful; I now have another day's worth of food.
Candy Lux (D2 F 18)
I sit in the cafeteria with the other three careers. We decided not to hunt again today. After Venom's death, we need a little time to recover. Early this morning, I was shocked and sad when I saw Venom dead. Now I realize that it's best that he's dead. He was the strongest career, so he helped our alliance plenty. Although, later in the Games, when careers turn on each other, I wouldn't want to have to fight Venom.
Fusion has kind of taken over as leader. He's the one who finalized that today would be a rest and recuperation day. I don't really know how I feel about him being leader. I guess it only seems fair, because he also had a ten, like Venom. He's also a bit nicer than Venom. Although, I wish he had used today as a tribute hunting day.
The sound of the Panem Anthem startles me. I wonder who has died today. I know Venom has, but I also heard the cannon blast around midday. The first face I see is Venom. Next, I see the face of the girl from District Five. It's about time she died. She only got a four during personal training, and she was only twelve. No other faces show in the sky tonight. The Panem Anthem ends, and Twilight volunteers for first watch. I close my eyes, and let sleep overcome me.

Hey guys! I'm so so so so sorry I haven't written in ages! I've been so busy with sports and family and stuff so I kind of lost interest in my story. However, now I'm back and rolling and have big plans for the future of my fanfic! ;-) Anyways, sorry for killing off Evanna Rae. She was really sweet, but she had to go. :-( New chapters will be coming soon, and I promise, next chapter will be a big one! Muwahahahaha! :-)
