The Finale:
Charisma Dayton (D9 F 17)
As Candy and Fusion get closer, Isaac and I take a few steps backwards. When we're about ten feet away the careers stop. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Fusion taunts. I notch an arrow on my bow. "Ooh, are we a bit feisty?" Fusion asks when he spots this. "Just put down the weapons, and we'll make sure you get nice, quick deaths.
"Not a chance!" Isaac shouts as he charges toward Candy, who is closest to him. Noting that his ally has Isaac occupied, Fusion now runs towards me. Drat!
I notice that Fusion has five throwing knives in his hands. If I can dodge all five, I might be able to get him with an arrow. Since this is the best strategy I've got, I decide to go for it.
Fusion releases his first knife. I duck and it whizzes over my head. He throws another. This time, I duck into the cornucopia. I quickly run out, because I don't want to get trapped in there. As I sprint, I see him throw another one out of the corner of my eye. I dive to the right, and it skims my left arm. It starts bleeding, but doesn't overwhelm me. I gdcet back up and continue running. I duck as another knife whizzes by my head. He only has one knife left. If I can dodge this one, I'll be the one on the attack. He releases it, and it flies toward me. I dive to the left, and the knife hits the wall behind me. Yes! But, as I fall down to the ground, pain shoots through my ankle, and I hear a faint crack.
I look down at my ankle as I fight back the tears. It's twisted at an odd angle. I try to put weight on it, but fall to the ground in pain. I spot Fusion digging through the supplies at the cornucopia, looking for a weapon. I need to get him with an arrow. I stand up on my left foot, and aim for the back of Fusion's head. I release my arrow, and it sails towards Fusion. However, Fusion moves to the side at the last second, and the arrow hits his left arm. Fusion howls in pain as he pulls the arrow out of his arm. He looks at me and scowls. "You're dead meat!" he shouts as he grabs a sword and runs at me.
I fire two more arrows at Fusion, but he deflects them both with his sword. Since my ankle isn't showing any signs of being able to move in the near future, I shout for my last resort. "Isaac!" I yell.
Isaac Lysander (D9 M 18)
Candy and I jab our spears at each other. I have to admit; this girl is good! She blocks each of my jabs, and counteracts them with spectacular swipes and swooshes. At last, she miscalculates one of my jabs. My spear throws itself into her stomach. Candy gives one last cough, and falls to the ground. A cannon blast lets me know Candy has died.
"Isaac!" I whip around. Fusion is advancing on Charisma with a sword. Charisma doesn't look like she can move. "Isaac!" she shouts again.
"Charisma!" I yell. I pull my spear out of Candy and run towards her. However, I'm too late. Fusion gives one swipe of his sword, and Charisma collapses to the ground.
"Boom."
I feel like my stomach has become an inflated balloon. Charisma can't be dead. She was too strong, too brave, too young for this fate. I look at her body; eagle-sprawled on the floor, a pool of blood surrounding her. I realize I cared more about her than my other allies; Dmitri and Ryder. Not only was Charisma from home, but she meant something more to me. Something that I'm just realizing now.
Another thought tugs at the back of my mind. What if Charisma had beaten Fusion? What would have happened then? Neither of us would have wanted to kill each other. I'm certain of that. Would I have sacrificed myself so Charisma could win, or would she sacrifice herself? As these questions bounce around in my head, I wonder if it was for the best that Charisma died. "No, that's stupid," I tell myself. "You never wanted her to die. That's an insult to her memory." Although I feel stupid and guilty for believing it, part of me is glad Charisma died at Fusion's hands.
The sound of Fusion's voice wakes me up from my trance. "Awwww; did I kill your little girlfriend?" Fusion asks, obviously noting the sorrow in my face. "Well don't worry; you'll be with her soon!"
Blood rushing in my ears, my mind can only process one thought; I must kill Fusion. I must avenge Charisma's death, and kill this bloodthirsty idiot. I draw my spear and charge at Fusion as fast and as strong as I can manage. I can tell that I have taken him by surprise. He draws his sword, but he's too late.
"Boom."
"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the victor of the 134th Hunger Games, Isaac Lysander!"

Well I hoped you enjoyed the final chapter. I literally did not know who would be crowned victor when I started this chapter. Eventually, I decided on Isaac because he was most qualified. He had the most kills, but he still had a good heart. I hope you're happy with my decision! The next chapter consists of some statistics that I hope you'll enjoy! :-)
