Blaine gave him a quick kiss before they walked into the building. "It's all going to be fine," he assured his boyfriend by lying.

"I wouldn't be so sure," Santana said as she clipped her badge to her pocket. "It's either going to be fantastic or terrible, and my bet's on the latter."

"Thank you, Santana, for the optimism," Blaine said with a roll of his eyes.

"Always," Santana promised him with a very phony smile.

"Will you two stop bickering?" Kurt said as he put on his own badge. "I'm nervous enough."

Kurt, Blaine, and Santana all looked very responsible, all wearing black suits (Santana's being slightly tailored to show off her femininity), Kurt and Santana wearing their CIA badges and Blaine wearing his civilian consult badge. However, all three were terribly nervous, and Blaine's badge wasn't real anyway, since the CIA hadn't actually given it to him.

Blaine held the door open for Santana and Kurt, and took his normal spot to Kurt's right. While Kurt was sure Blaine was tempted to take his boyfriend's hand (it was a habit he had developed that Kurt didn't mind in the least), it was best if they looked professional, and hand-holding wasn't a CIA-approved activity.

Kurt swiped his badge to open the doors inside the lobby, leading to the mission control in Port Moresby. Before Kurt, Blaine, and Santana were even all inside the room, everyone was clapping, including a very happy-looking Director Schuester and Agents Evans and Puckerman. "Dude, you totally should have brought us with!" Agent Puckerman objected as he grabbed Santana in a hug that looked much more than friendly.

"No, no he should not," Director Schuester said. "In fact, he shouldn't have gone at all. However, I know that teenagers will always take the initiative, and I am proud of the work you have done. Dr. Anderson's work with antineutrinos and leucochloridium paradoxum has been destroyed, a dangerous Stheno operative has been taken into custody with moderate injuries, and the organization is crumbling. Where is Sue Sylvester?"

"Dead, sir," Kurt said without even having to think about it.

"You're sure."

"One hundred percent, sir," Kurt said, trying not to picture Sylvester's mutilated corpse.

"Congratulations, Agent Hummel, you may have saved the world."

"But how the hell are you going to explain it to your parents?" Agent Evans asked, making the room laugh, and Kurt shrugged.

"I'm sure I'll think of something. I'm great at impromptu, aren't I, Agent Lopez?" he asked his fellow agent with a grin, and she groaned.

"He is the most reckless bastard…" Everyone was laughing, Agent Puckerman starting to request stories from his girlfriend and Agent Berry beginning to badger her about official reports, both which Santana was ignoring with a roll of her eyes.

Agent Lopez, the very scary woman who had brained Kurt's worst bully within moments of meeting him, turned to Kurt and hugged him. "Congratulations, Kurt," was all she said as she hugged him. "I hope we can be partners again sometime." Kurt didn't comment on her choice of words, just smiling and hugging her in return. "Now, go be with your boyfriend," she requested with a grin, giving him a smack on the ass as he walked by.

Director Schuester was talking about medals and Agent Berry was badgering him about being an agent forever, and Kurt ignored both of them with ease. "I told you everything would be fine," Blaine said with a smile, and before Kurt could stop his boyfriend, Blaine kissed him softly on the mouth, right in front of everyone. Director Schuester stared for a moment, but smiled and turned away, obviously over the fact that Blaine had once been Kurt's target. It was no longer true, and everyone needed to move on from the experience.

"You were right, of course," Kurt said with a smile.

"I love you," Blaine said suddenly, casually, "but I'm willing to bet you knew that."

"Of course I did," Kurt said, giving his boyfriend a quick peck. "And I love you, too."

"I know it's soon, but…"

"Blaine, we've literally been through hell and high water," Kurt said with a laugh. "I love you."

Before Blaine could say anything sappy or emotional to that, the monitor rang (which was always an odd phenomenon) and a man Kurt wouldn't recognize for more than two seconds, indistinctive and the perfect agent, came up on the screen. "Director Schuester, we have a dire situation brewing in Russia. We need your best pair immediately."

Director Schuester grinned, looking at Kurt and Santana. "Well, luckily for me, I have them right here. Are you two up for the challenge?" Kurt and Santana both nodded.

"Reporting for duty?" Agent Berry asked, gesturing to them, but it was less a question and more a reminder of the formalities that they had both forgotten.

"Agent Santana Lopez." Santana saluted.

"Agent Kurt Hummel."
