Hi! I'm HollowKU ready for the next chapter of The Parallel Challenger! First, I would like to apologize for the long time it took to update (four months almost. Damn.). Many things have happened to me in these four months: a horrible class in college, I got rejected and, the most painful, the death of a dear friend I know from here (This chapter is dedicated to you, Golfer...). I'm not using it as an excuse, but certainly things have accumulated and I wasn't in the mood of writing anything. I'll be briefly this time. Hope you enjoy the chapter and thanks for everyone who reviewed the last chapter and thanks to my readers who were waiting for this chapter.

By the way: This was supposed to be the chapter ending the battle of Ash and Red, but since it would get too long, I decided to put half of the chapter so you can read it now and wait for the next part.

Pokémon: The Parallel Challenger

Chapter 15: The Final Volt 2.0 – Blue Existence

"So, what do you think? It's been five minutes already."

Looking at the abyss of the great mountain, a certain trainer talked with his loyal companion beside him, wondering about the whereabouts of his opponent, since he threw himself into the unknown to save his Pokémon. The young Champion, even though he knew the consequences of the situation, he still wondered if his counterpart would climb all the way up there again.

"Pika pika, pika!"

"You worry too much, partner. You're underestimating him...no, you're just worried." Red crossed his arms. "After all, it's been a while since you had an opponent like this, don't you?"

The champion's Pikachu nodded and, while he was worried about the fate of his trainer's counterpart, he couldn't help but feel kind of excited in how his opponent managed to even handle his first move. However, the topic of the whereabouts of Ash was still hanging on.

"Pika! Pika pika!"

"I didn't overdo it. Technically speaking, you were the one who send him flying there." Champion Red tried to break the ice by being easy going, and he didn't mind not being in his serious attitude with his most trusted friend.

However, the electric mouse couldn't help but release some sparks from its cheeks, showing his trainer that he was not in the mood for jokes.

"No need for that. I'm sure he's still around there." The trainer in red rubbed his arm to warm himself. The change of temperature once again was starting to shock him a bit. "In any way, the mountain is our battlefield. If he's not coming to us, we'll have to go for him."

That being said, he took a tiny boost and threw himself to the abyss his counterpart just fell, followed almost immediately by his Pikachu. A smile could be seen in the face of the champion, reflected on the ice pieces all across the mountain.

"After all...this is just beginning, right?"

At a certain point of Mt. Silver...

"..Ugh...my head. I should really think before acting like that..."

Young trainer Ash Ketchum get up after the great fall that he just had, rubbing his head and seeing the surroundings to try to locate himself. In the process, he remembered why he threw himself into the unknown.

"Pikachu!"

Luck was on Ash's side, as he saw his loyal partner not so far from where he was. He immediately reached him, and saw that he didn't have many scratches from the fall. Soon after his trainer arrived, the electric mouse slowly opened his eyes and faced him, as he smiled at him showing that he was completely fine.

"Buddy, that was a big fall, wasn't it?"

"Pikapi!"

"Red's Pikachu is way more powerful than I thought. Not only in bare strength, but also has an amazing speed. He could give Sceptile a hard time even in the woods." Ash realized that he had a rough start and now he needed to put everything he got if he wanted to keep the pace with his counterpart, especially since they were 'playing' in his field. "Well, there's no time to waste. We must return to the top as soon as possible."

"That won't be necessary."

Ash was surprised to hear a voice from a higher place in the mountain. He looked up, and saw the silhouette of his opponent, looking him down with his Pokémon beside him.

"You were taking your time, so here I am." The usual cold tone from the champion fitted the scenario.

"I admit that we started with the wrong foot, since the surroundings are still new to me."

"Don't come with excuses." The champion emitted a menacing aura, startling Ash a little. The look in his eyes was also looking emotionlessly. "If you can't handle the surroundings, then you won't be even close to making my Pikachu faint."

"I wasn't. However, I must say that the fall made me understand some of the points all across this mountain. I've been here before, though, but only for exploring, not for battling."

"Shall we resume, then?"

"Of course. This is our final battle, after all." A smile appeared on the face of the trainer, with his Pikachu releasing some sparks from its red cheeks. "And I don't intend to go back without winning."

"Most trainers would be already running away after being thrown from that distance. Then again..." Red barely smiled as his own Pikachu also released sparks. "You're not an ordinary trainer."

In a second, both Pikachu clashed once again, filling the place with smoke.

May and Gary's point...

*BOOM*

Both trainers heard a powerful noise coming not so far from where they were.

"Gary, what was that?"

"I guess we found them faster than we thought."

They knew that the explosion was caused by the fight of the Pokémon Trainers that started on the top of the mountain. Rocks and ice shards started to fall from above, as the clash between the Pokémon caused astonishing damage to parts of the mountain.

"We should be careful. May, bring out your Blaziken. Fire moves will be needed from this point."

"Got it. Blaziken, I need your assistance!"

The coordinator summoned her first and most loyal Pokémon, following the advice of the professor in training. The fire-type appeared and almost instantly, detected a powerful vibe coming from a certain point of the freezing mountain.

"Let's go. The explosion wasn't far from here." Gary said as he started running, going to the direction of the clash point.

"Blaziken, be alert of anything suspicious, ok?" May told her Pokémon as she followed Gary's path into the dense mist.

With Brock and Misty...

"Steelix, use Iron Tail!"

"Gyarados, use Hydro Pump!"

The known gym leaders continue on their fight against the horde of Pokémon who showed up randomly at the presence of the powerful vibe of the peak. The horde just kept coming and coming, no matter what Brock and Misty did to hold them back into the depths of the cave.

"They sure are strong Pokémon, aren't they?" Misty covered her eyes with her arm as her Gyarados unleashed a Hyper Beam on an Onix, knocking it out.

"Not only they are strong, but they come in large numbers." Brock looked at both Pokémon, who were panting and sweating. "They are already getting tired. And we still have to deal with him."

As soon as he said that, a big Hyper Beam was shot at them by the hands of the wild Tyranitar who was supposedly leading the Onix horde. Both Pokémon dodged the attack instantly. The attack hit the wall, destroying most of it and making parts of the cave to fall off.

"Steelix, use Protect!"

The metal serpent roared as a green energy barrier surrounded the four, protecting them from the falling rocks.

"I've been using Protect for a while. Another move and the barrier may break and we will be exposed to Tyranitar's attacks." Brock remarked.

Misty ordered his Gyarados to use Hydro Pump to make Tyranitar back off. The powerful attack hit the Rock-type, making him to fall on his knees. However, he got up almost immediately, roaring back at the trainers.

"Why is Tyranitar angry? I know they aren't friendly but this one has his power unleashed for mere destruction."

*CRACK* *BOOM*

Just when things were getting awful for them, the ground started shaking as a big noise could be heard from outside the cave, coming from an explosion. Misty and Brock covered themselves behind their Pokémon, getting away from the zone where rocks started falling. The horde of Onix looked at every point of the dark area, nervous of what was going on.

The horde looked at each other and decided on retreating, leaving the gym leaders on their own as they initially were.

"I guess that scared them off." Misty let out a sigh of relief. "Just when we need it."

"But thinking about it, now we have to worry about that explosion, shouldn't we?"

"Don't you think that...it could have come from them?"

"It's possible that Ash and Red are somewhere near, fighting. The explosion must have meant a clash between two attacks, so that means they are already deciding the match."

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

They both looked frightened as they turned around to see that the explosion didn't scare out the most terrifying Pokémon of the horde: Tyranitar. In fact, the sudden noise caught the interest of the Rock-type, who started moving in direction to the exit of the cave.

"Where is he going?" Misty wondered.

"He must be going after Ash! If he manages to reach him, who knows what will happen!"

Before anyone could react, Tyranitar turned around and unleashed a powerful Hyper Beam on the floor, crashing it from below and making the gym leaders and their Pokémon to fall into the hole.

The Rock-type looked for a couple of seconds to the destruction he just did, and turned around, following the path to the exit, the path to meeting the cause behind the explosion.

With Dawn and Max...

"We're almost there. At least we weren't so far away."

"It would have been better if we got directly on the mountain, you know?"

"Then you would have being cursing the bad weather of it."

The coordinator and the soon-to-be trainer were walked towards the entrance of Silver Town, located at the feet of the majestic Mt. Silver, when they saw a bright light coming from above the middle of the mountain, followed by a big amount of smoke coming from it.

"What was that?"

"If I'm not mistaken..." Max accommodated his glasses. "...then Ash and Red are already fighting. That would explain the explosion."

"Then we must hurry to follow them!"

Out of a sudden, another explosion occurred, but this time, it was in a lower part of the mountain.

"Their fight is getting really intense!" Dawn worried.

"You're right. They must be getting down from the mountain while fighting." Max analyzed and then realized something. "Oh no! That's going to be a big trouble!"

"What do you mean?"

"Don't you see? The fight is getting way too intense. If they are keeping this way, they will reach Silver Town and create havoc!"

"Don't you think you're overreacting?" Dawn looked strangely at the boy with glasses.

"You've seen those two fighting! Their fight almost destroyed the green land of Prof. Oak's lab, and they weren't even trying to do that!" Max exclaimed. "It's not like there are going to destroy the city, but they will certainly cause damage!"

"We should hurry, then!"

"Even if we run, we won't make it on time. We need to warn some of the people in Silver Town before they make it there."

"But how?"

"I hope this still works..." The little boy brought out from his back pack an old, dusty object. It was orange-colored and had the shape of a cellphone. "This is the old Pokénav of my sister. She never managed to use it, so I kept it just in case. It's outdated, but I guess I still can communicate with it."

"Who are you going to call?"

"There's only one person from the ones who watched the battle who is registered in here. I hope he is nearby."

With Prof. Oak and Tracey...

"I guess it's no use..."

Prof. Oak and Tracey had just got into the Pokémon Center of Silver Town, hoping to make contact with Gary Oak to localize him, but they just heard static from the call.

"If there's no signal, it's probable that he is in the mountain, most likely in a high point where the waves can't reach him." Prof. Oak said.

"What are we supposed to do, then? Climbing Mt. Silver is not an option. It' s way too far."

Prof. Oak then noticed a vibration coming from his lab coat. He immediately reached something in his pocket, bringing an old phone.

"It's a call...from Max!"

"Max? Is he probably in danger?"

"Let's hope he isn't." The Pokémon Professor opened the phone and answered. "Max, is that you?"

"Professor! Oh, thank Arceus it worked!" The voice from the boy could be heard. "Are you ok, professor?"

"I'm fine. I got transported to Silver Town with Tracey and right now I'm in the Pokémon Center. I tried to contact Gary but it was useless."

"I see. I'm with Dawn in the moment and we're a few meters from the entrance of Silver Town. Actually, the reason I called is because of Ash and Red."

"What happened with them?" Prof. Oak started to get worried.

"From our point we can see that their fight has already started. They are in Mt. Silver fighting."

"What?!"

"Also, that's not the main problem. They are taking the battle right from the top and they are getting down Mt. Silver." The kid then made a pause and continued. "Professor, they are causing explosions from all points of the mountain. If they reach Silver Town, even if they don't want to, they will cause some damage to the surroundings."

"That's going to be awful!" The watcher, who was listening the whole conversation as well, replied nervous.

"It's not like we need to evacuate the whole town, but we need to dissipate a fraction of it before they reach down."

"I understand. Could you tell me their exact position?"

"They are about the middle of the mountain, but they are already going down. I guess the first point they'll reach will be...the stadium of the Silver Conference."

Prof. Oak gasped. "That can't be! Tracey, it's around this time of the year, right?"

"...You're right! The Silver Conference is being held in this precise moment!"

"What was that about?"

"Max, we will go to the stadium as soon as possible. You and Dawn make sure that the trainers that want to go to see the event don't enter."

"Alright." And with that, the call ended.

"Professor..." Tracey brought out one of his Pokéballs.

"Yeah, we need to hurry." Prof. Oak said as they went out of the Pokémon Center and looked at the mountain. "I hope we're not too late."

Returning with Ash and Red...

"Thunder."

"Pikachu, dodge!"

Red continued his attack, unleashing a powerful electric blow on his opponent. Ash's Pikachu barely dodge the attack, but managed to stay on balance.

"Pikachu, use Electro Ball, quickly!"

Pikachu nodded and charged a big ball of electric energy on his tail, and unleashed it really fast, hitting the ground nearby Red's Pikachu, making it distract for a couple of seconds.

"Pikachu, now use Iron Tail!"

Pikachu charged at max speed to where his opponent was. Red's Pikachu covered himself with his little hands, as he received the metal blow from Ash's Pikachu, making him back off a few meters, where his trainer was.

"Heh, nice shot!" Ash smiled at his Pokémon.

"Good counter. Thinking fast is something important in a battle." Red looked at his Pokémon. "You even surprised my Pikachu."

"I'm giving my all, you know. Don't know how, but the strength is flowing in me and Pikachu. We will certainly win this!"

"We'll see about that, other me. Iron Tail."

"Dodge!"

Red's Pikachu charged at fast speed, taking boost from rocks nearby. Ash's Pikachu jumped really high in response.

"If Pikachu gains enough high, we can use that..."

"Hey, Ash!"

"Huh? That voice..." The trainer turned around, to see a familiar figure running with a Pokémon behind. As the fog dissipated, it revealed to be May along with her Blaziken.

"May?!"

"Don't lose your concentration."

The Kanto Champion managed to make Ash return to focus on the battle, but it was late. Those few seconds were enough for Pikachu to distract and fall victim of a powerful Iron Tail blow, that made him fly down, directed to crash into the hard floor.

"Pikachu!"

"Blastoise, use Water Gun!"

A voice behind May could be heard. A trainer in a lab coat appeared, summoning his Water-type Pokémon, unleashing its move. The attack was soft, and was meant to catch Pikachu and recover from its fall. The electric mouse entered the Water Gun and got out following the current, returning to its battle position.

"That was close. Be more careful next time."

"You too, Gary?"

"You're welcome." The professor in training said. "Anyway, it's glad to find you, since we were lost in the mountain for a while."

"That's right! We heard a noise coming from here and we managed to catch up on you!"

"I'm glad that you're ok." The trainer replied.

"Anyway, I'm demanding an explanation." Gary turned to face Red. "You threw us away from the battle on purpose, didn't you?"

"That's right. It would be easier to fight with everything if it's just the two of us." As soon as he said that, he noticed something. "You two, look out behind."

Both Gary and May turned around to see their backs, and noticed a big figure approaching to where they were. Its eyes were glowing intensely and its powerful roar could be heard.

"That's...a Tyranitar!" Gary exclaimed.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAWR!" The Pokémon formed an energy beam on its mouth, ready to unleash it.

"This is bad! Blastoise, counter with Hydro Pump!"

Both Pokémon released their attacks, making resistance for a few seconds and both attacks became a mass of dust that left blinded the situation for a while.

"Where did that Tyranitar came from? And why did it suddenly attack us?" May asked worried.

"I've readed in a book about his nature. He is a Pokémon that is easily infuriated by intruders, but won't attack seriously unless there's some presence he feels he must destroy." And then he realized. "He must be after Ash and Red! Their battle attracted the attention of Tyranitar!"

"GRAAAAAAAAAWWR!"

"Blaziken, use Flamethrower!"

Tyranitar tried to strike, but the coordinator reacted quickly and managed to make him back off from his counter using the Fire-type to seal the movement.

"Ash, both you and Red need to get out from here and resume your battle somewhere else." Gary remarked.

"What? That's dangerous! There's no way we would leave you with that Tyranitar going wild!"

"Let's go." Red just turned around and climbed down the mountain.

"But..." The trainer looked doubtful of leaving their friends once again.

"Ash, don't underestimate us." The voice of his former rival reached him. "Don't think that just because I'm a professor and she is a coordinator we're not capable of handling him."

"...Alright." Ash just nodded, even though he wasn't so convinced with the idea.

Ash then jumped along with Pikachu to a section with rocks, climbing down and following Red's path.

"And just when we met him..." Gary sighed. "May, we need to take care of him before joining Ash again, ok?"

"I'm not comfortable with that, but I guess this is the only way." The coordinator replied.

Both of the trainers waited, as they saw the Pokémon emerge from the smoke, covered in scars and wounds.

"Our attacks weren't that powerful to leave him like that...could it be that he was attacked before?"

With Ash and Red...

"I hope they are ok..." Ash said as he managed to catch up with Red.

"You didn't have a choice, though. Your Pikachu is mostly tired and every Pokémon you've got left is fainted." Red replied as calm as usual.

Ash didn't accept it, but Red was right. Now the only thing he could do was finish the battle as soon as possible.

"Ok then, let's resume."

"Pikachu...Thunder."

"Pikachu, use Thunder too!"

Both attacks collided, illuminating the battlefield with the powerful electricity they both released. Both of them looked intensely at each other, as the collision caused a big light that blinded the trainers.

As the smoke dissipated, both Pikachu were panting. That meant two things.

One: the battle was getting over.

And two: Starting now, the battle would reach its most shaking point.
