"I do not want to be here," Bolin groaned, stuffing a handful of fries into his mouth.

"I second that," Korra grumbled alongside, poking around her lunch.

School had resumed too soon, it seemed, and nobody was really in the mood to go back to class. With basketball being off-season as well, there really was no motivation for Korra to go back to school. However, she did find comfort in knowing that her friends would be as depressed as she was.

Across from Korra, Asami smiled. "You guys are such drama queens," she teased. "We only have a semester until we're graduates! Look on the bright side!"

"And then you guys will leave me all alone! Go off to college!" Bolin cried, throwing his hands up in an exaggerated motion.

The blue-eyed girl laughed. "I'm sure you won't be alone, Bo," she commented. "The entire school is head over heels for you."

"And hate me for saying this, but it's a little weird to be hanging out with your big brother's friends," Mako added, smirking slightly. His smirk disappeared, however, when Bolin leaned over the table and punched him on the shoulder. Korra chuckled as Mako rubbed his arm, pouting.

"Speaking of college," Asami picked up, "Did any of you guys get accepted to a university yet?"

Korra raised an eyebrow, glancing at Mako. Hadn't he told the others…?

"Um, actually, I did," Mako muttered, giving Korra a silent look before turning his attention back to Asami. "To the local one."

"Really?! That's amazing!" the girl congratulated, as Bolin did the same.

It seemed like they hadn't known about Mako's acceptance till now, which was strange, given that the guy had told Korra two weeks ago. But she felt special, in some way, that Mako decided to tell her first.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Bolin poking at her shoulder. "Are you going to stay here for college too?" he asked, giving Korra a hopeful look.

"Yeah," the girl responded. "I really love this city, and I don't think I'd be happier somewhere else. Besides," she grinned, "I don't think you guys can live without me."

"Yes!" her friend cheered, giving her a hug. "We get to keep Korra! Woohoo!" Korra shook her head, smiling all the same- Mako and Asami looked as happy as Bolin was.

It felt good, to have such great friends.

Tahno tapped Korra's shoulder for the thousandth time that class.

The girl ignored it, yet again, and focused on reading the assigned book. She really wanted to tell him to fuck off, but that probably wouldn't end well given that the teacher had the ears off a hawk.

Finally, from her right, she heard Tahno sigh. A minute later, he raised his hand.

"Yes?"
"May I go to the restroom?"

The teacher nodded, allowing Tahno to go. As he stood up, he gave Korra a pointed look before walking out of the class.

The blue-eyed girl rolled her eyes, knowing exactly what Tahno wanted. But she wanted to end it, too, so a couple of minutes later, the girl asked the same question.

Mako raised his eyes as she got up to leave, but Korra pretended to ignore that.

As she got closer to the restrooms, the girl saw Tahno leaning against one of the walls. He stood up once he saw her.

"What do you want," Korra said, frankly, as she crossed her arms.

"Well, maybe a conversation would be nice," Tahno replied sarcastically. "Why are you still so mad at me? I didn't think rooting for the other team was such a big deal."

Korra scoffed, turning around and getting ready to walk back to class, but the guy stopped her and placed his hand on her arm.

"Okay, fine," Tahno said. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't support you while you won the game."

"It's not that big of a deal."

"Which is why you've been ignoring me for a month now, right."

"Why is my attention so important to you anyway?!" Korra burst out, fed up with Tahno. "Do you like me or something?!"

Silence.

Shit.

The blue-eyed girl mentally punched herself, because although it wasn't too obvious- and although she didn't know how to feel about it- she knew that deep down, her gut had told her Tahno felt something for her.

And to play that card made her feel like a bitch.

She was about to say something- maybe an apology, maybe an excuse- when Tahno surprised her.

That is to say, he leaned down and kissed her. It was slightly gentle, but also slightly aggressive, and his tongue licked her bottom lip quickly before he leaned back, looking slightly smug.

Korra didn't know what to say, and decided not to open her mouth, instead staring at him in confusion.

Sighing before giving the girl a small smile, Tahno turned back to walk to the classroom, hands in his pockets.

That Thursday, Korra rushed into the employee room, not even glancing around as she grabbed her apron from the hook. "Sorry, Iroh," she breathed. "There was just a shit load of traffic, and-"

A person cleared their throat behind Korra, making her turn around.

"Oh- I'm so sorry," the girl apologized, as she saw that the lady behind her wasn't Iroh at all.

"It's fine," the stranger smiled. "I'm your new boss- my name's Helen. I don't know if you had heard, but Mr. Iroh quit a week ago," she said apologetically.

Korra visibly slumped. "Um, I knew," she said. The girl had forgotten about Iroh's leaving, and reminded herself to text him one of these days. She didn't want to get estranged with the guy, because she really enjoyed having him around.

"Here are your tables today," Helen said, handing the senior a piece of paper. "I look forward to working with you!" She added kindly.

"Right, you too," Korra replied as Helen walked out of the room. No matter how nice her new boss, seemed, though, she missed having Iroh around to joke around with.

So after she got off of work that day, the girl decided to call him.

"Hey there," she heard Iroh say once he picked up the phone.

"hi," Korra smiled. "We haven't talked in forever."

"I know," Iroh sighed on the other side. "I haven't been too good with staying in contact. But I'm free this weekend?"

"Well, I don't know about this week, but there's a surfing competition down at the beach next weekend," Korra said, unlocking her car.

"I think I can-" Suddenly, Iroh stopped talking, and Korra heard a girl's voice behind him.

"Is that…Tina?" Korra asked, eyebrows scrunched.

"Uh, yeah," The guy cleared his voice.

"I thought she lived two hours away."

"Well, she's visiting."

All of the sudden, it made sense. "Are you guys going out?" Korra asked tightly, one hand unconsciously gripping her driving wheel, hard.

Iroh uncomfortably coughed on the other side of the line. "We reconnected this winter, and yes, we're going out." He coughed again as Korra stayed silent. "Hello?" He said.

"Yeah. Hi, sorry, I just- uh, I was getting in the car," Korra lied. "Um, so about next weekend? Think you can make it?"

"Pretty sure," was his reply.

"Great. And feel free to bring Tina too," Korra said before hanging up.

"Day feels kind of empty without basketball, huh?" Mako said to Korra as they walked together to their cars from their tutoring session.

"Yeah," she muttered. "Somehow shooting around at the neighborhood court just doesn't cut it." Korra glanced up at Mako, giving him a smile. "But that was one hell of a season, at least."

He smiled back, nodding. "One hell of a season," Mako repeated.

Korra stopped in front of her car, glancing up at the amber-eyed guy. "Well, this is my stop," she said, fishing her keys out of her pocket. "See you Monday."

"Uh- wait," Mako stopped behind her, making Korra pause her actions for a moment.

"Do you like chinese food?" He asked her suddenly, making her pout in confusion.

"Love it, why?" the blue-eyed girl asked.

"Well, I was thinking…" Mako bit his lip, drawing Korra's eyes in for a moment. "I was thinking, that, if you weren't doing anything Saturday night, um, would you want to come over and have some, uh, chinese food?"

Well, that was a surprise. Mako was basically asking the girl on a date.

But Korra felt like she and him clicked. Yeah, they fought a lot, and they clashed too much, but somehow, the girl really liked that.

Korra nodded her head. "Sure. I'm up for that," she responded, heart thumping in her chest.

"So…it's a date?" Mako clarified, one hand coming up from the pocket of his hoodie as he scratched the back of his neck.

"It's a date," Korra replied, smiling.

The amber-eyed guy smiled back, and as Korra drove away, she found herself really looking forward to Saturday.

Hmm...I didn't do so well this chapter. I'm sorry :( I have been so busy, getting back to the uni! But I promise next chapter will be better :)

So Mako got the most votes, Iroh in second, and tahno in third.

***IMPORTANT****: This story is coming really close to it's end. There are two more chapters to go! How I'm going to determine the winner of the overall story is: calculate ALL the votes this story got. The person who got the most votes throughout will be the person Korra ends up with!
I'm so glad you all decided to read my story :)

VOTING RULES RECAP!
Please vote for one person in particular!

It's not as much a 'vote' as it is a popular voice (no one gets 'voted off'- they can come back as love interests whenever they get votes.)

No negative votes will be counted (ex: 'I just don't want her to end up with Tahno!") you have to vote for a person in specifics.

You can vote a new person each chapter if you want. You can also vote for the same person each chapter. And of course, you have every right to vote for each chapter (that's kind of the idea :P). But you can only vote for one person per chapter!

Also, please make sure you vote under Chapter 12 if you want your vote to count for chapter 12! if you vote under the most recent chapter counting votes will be a lot easier :) Message me if you have any trouble with anything!

And please, please don't vote under 'guest'. Make an ff account or give yourself some sort of guest nickname if you can't/have trouble with it. I don't want one person to vote 3000 times under a guest account. It's not fair to the rest of us.

(Also, guys, don't slam other ships in your comments. Be respectful of everyone.)

Prominent love interests (you can vote outside of this if you want to) :
Mako

Iroh

Tahno

Asami

Bolin

***by voting outside, I mean voting for someone like Amon, Beifong, etc.
