"Blackbird," Batman said pulling up a video from the computer.
"Huh?" Kathy asked.
The team head just arrived a few minutes ago to find Batman, Green Arrow, and Red Tornado already there.
"And, what are we gonna do?" Silen asked, putting her mask on, making her become her alter ego Nova.
" Black Bird and two others have been robbing several different banks across the state, we think her next target is the Mistwell Holders Bank," Red Tornado said
"That's impossible, the bank has top knock security," O2 said
"Plus, there nothing to steal there, besides money," Whisper said
"Wrong actually," Robin said, pulling up a computer on his wrist.
"They have several major Star Labs scientist holding there projects there, some of them powerful enough to destroy a whole city," He finished closing the computer.
"Geek," Nova muttered.
"Your job is to protect the lab at all cost, local authorities have already been notified," Batman said.
"Okie-Dokie," Heckate said.
"One question though," Whisper said
"Hm?"
"How are we gonna get there?"
"This is my ship," Heckate said showing off a small ball in the take off area
"Um...how is that suppose to get us there?" Whisper asked
"Well, right now it's asleep but," Heckate closed her eyes then the small ball grew, and grew, and grew. Until it became a full fledged space ship.
"Sweet," O2 said as the door opened for everyone to come in.
"Approaching Mistwell City," KF said
"Way to point out the obvious, Sherlock," O2 mumbled. She got a glare from that comment. The ship soon grew to have am erie silence.
"So...how long have all of you been a team?" Whisper asked, trying to break it
"Well...me, KF, Superboy, Aqualad, and Heckate have been a team for around four months," Robin said
"But I joined only a two months ago," Terra said.
"Hm," Nova said, she hadn't spoken since they'd baked off.
"Nova, I must ask you, is everything okay?" Aqualad said to his new teammate
"Peachy, just peachy," She replied, making it obvious she didn't wan to talk.
'Everyone, note this please. If Nova doesn't want to talk, do not do anything to tick her off' Whisper thought, sending it to everyone on the ship expect Nova.
"We are here," Aqualad said as the door opened
"YEAH, LETS GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!" O2 yelled
"Shhh!"
(Outside Mistwell Bank, West wing)
"See anything?" Robin asked Nova,
"No, If I did I'd tell you dolt," Nova said as she watched the bank
"No need to be rude," Robin muttered.
"I really can't believe we got stuck with a mission as dumb as this!" Nova whispered/yelled.
"Welcome to my world," Robin said
(Outside Mistwell Bank, East Wing)
"So...we just wait?" O2 asked KF
"Pretty much," KF responded
"Tell me when there's some action, 'kay?" KF said sitting down and eating a power bar.
"Why do I get la-zy boy?"
"Hey, I didn't ask to be paired with you,"
"No, you asked to be paired up with Heckate,"
(Inside Mistwell Bank, West Wing)
"UGH! This is so boring, what's a girl have to do to get some action?!" Whisper wondered
"Please be quiet Whisper," Aqualad said as they walked around the enormous bank.
"I know, I know," Whisper responded "I just thought there'd be more action,"
"There will be some, we must be patient and wait," Aqualad responded
"Yeah, but I guess there are some upsides to this," Whisper said, looking directly at Aqualad.
(Inside Mistwell Bank, East Wing)
"I wonder what's wrong with Nova," Heckate said as they waled around
"I don't know, the chick isn't exactly an 'Open Book" Terra said adding air quotes.
"Terra, how long have you know N.W.O?" SB asked
"Well, I've know Whisper since birth 'cause we're cousins, and I met Nova and O2 about 3 years ago," Terra said
"I see, so how much do you know about Nova and O2?" SB pondered
"Well, let's see, O2's mom died when she was 7, and Nova, well she has a little sister named Carter and both her parents work at Mistwell middle school, but...the thing is, Nova has always been, how do I put it, silent about her feelings and herself," Terra said
"It's sad that O2 lost her- TERRA DUCK!" Heckate screamed.
Terra did a back flip just in time before a metal claw tried to grab her.
"What the heck!?" Terra said as she summoned a bolder.
Another claw came out a SB, he grabbed it and pulled it out from the shadows, along with a butt ugly dude.
Team, we're being ambushed! Heckate thought to the others, since she and Whisper hade linked them up (A/N: Both Heckate and Whisper are Telepathic)
'Team go to Heckate's' aid Aqualad thought
SB was now fighting , who hade gotten free of SB's grip, and had SB in a claw getting thrown around.
Heckate shuddered
"TERRA BEHIND YOU!" she yelled just before a red goo substance was shot at Terra.
Terra dodged it and threw her bolder at the person who had shot the goo.
A man in a black and deep red jump suit that hade a spider like mask, flipped out from the shadows and started fighting Terra.
"Okay," Heckate said, taking black energy and hitting the spider dude with a block of energy
(Outside Mistwell Bank, West wing
"Come on Nova," Robin said running towards the Bank
"Yeah, sure, I'm right behind you," she mumbled.
This isn't like her Nova thought to herself.
She pulled out cell phone and pressed 1.
It was only took one ring before the person answered
"You buying this?" Nova asked
"Not one bit," the others person replied
"This defiantly isn't like her," Nova said
"Yeah, meet me on the roof," and the phone call ended
(On the roof)
O2 stood their waiting for Nova
"Do you really think its her?" a voice said from behind.
O2 turned around to see Nova,
O2 nodded
"It doesn't seem like her to be so out going like that, then again. We haven't seen her in some time," O2 said
"Yeah, it sounded like her, let's wait and see if we're right," Nova responded, her voice hallow.
There was a loud crash.
The girls turned around to see Black Bird standing there with a case in one hand.
She was wearing a pitch black body suit and heeled boots. She wore a mask that resembled a crows face that stopped above her top lip. She lastly had black wings that connected to the sleeves of her body suit.
"Well, well, well, look who's playing hero," she said in a taunting voice
"Look who's playing villain," Nova responded with venom in her voice "What the heck are you doing here you? I thought you'd be off sleeping with rich some guy,"
"That's not so nice Si,"
Nova made a tsk sound.
"What's in the case Black Bird?" O2 asked
"Nothin' much, just a couple things the Shadows need," She said, talking like it was nothing.
Novas hands started to glow red. She looked like she was trying not to attack Black.
"What's the matter Nova darling? Having some trouble. Then again you where always bad at controlling your emotions," Black Bird taunted.
That's when hell broke loose. Nova lunged for Black Bird which she easily side stepped, causing Silen to land face first in the ground. Nova quickly got up and lunged again. Throwing punches with radioactive energy in them. None of them hit Black Bird.
"You really need to-" Black Bird was cut off by Novas fist going into her jaw. Black stumbled backwards, clutching her jaw.
"That wasn't nice,"
By this time. The whole team had heard the noise from the roof and had been listing in on the fight and convo between the three. The two villains that had attacked them where tied up with Hecates black energy.
"SHUT UP," Nova screamed. She grabbed Blacks arm and threw her over her shoulder. Black winced, but quickly recovered and punched Nova smack in the nose. A echoing crack came from it.
"Ya know," Black said to Nova "This isn't the best family reunion, isn't it...Little sis?".
