Hello…

I can explain! I promise to update every month but a few month ago, my sister laptop broke up, and I can't get my hand on a laptop. I tried to update this story and surely I will never abandon this story.

I felt very bad for the reader but I also had my own problem now. Considering that this year is my last year of high school, I had to work hard to achieve a better result.

Anyway, this story is beta-ed by ToktelasAndTea. And surely I never own JR.

Chapter 19: The darkness over here is sweet

Dashed toward the main hall, Usami Akihiko engaged his sense of hearing to the max. He moved swiftly among the tall concretes pillar, avoiding the armored guard. Unsheathing his sword he instantly rendered the guard unconscious. His sensitive crimson eyes darted along the corridor, scanning the dark hallway. Nimbly he slipped slowly among the stone statues, making his way to the main hall. Already he had gotten the reports from Miyagi and Nowaki that all the attacks where a success. Nowaki had reported that his attack had caused a rather unpleasant uproar but everything was fine now. Takano also said that the people who worked in the castle had being gathered. And Misaki was also stay safely in the capital, taking care of their injured troops. He was really working hard. Talk about Misaki… Usagi train of thought led him to remembering their little argument early…

~Flashback~

"Usagi-san, I want to go too… Please take me…" Misaki grabbed the man's arms pleadingly.

"But…Misaki, it's very dangerous. You'll get yourself hurt. I don't want you wounded." Usagi ruffled the chocolate-brown hair while making his way out from the room, before softly caressed the boy's smooth cheek.

"But b-but, I want to help you…" Misaki looked down at the floor.

"Misaki, are you thinking about that again?" Usagi lifted the boy's chin up and looked into the boy's pleading emerald eyes. Misaki tried to look away but Usagi stopped him.

"Look into my eyes and tell me what you've being thinking all this time. I know you're thinking of something useless again." Usagi locked his gaze with the boy's, making sure that the other would not lie.

"I..I..ju-st, I…" In that instant, Misaki a stinging arise behind his eyes. Slowly, despite his efforts to hold them back, the crystalline droplets began to escape. His heart ached with sadness and irritation toward himself. He did not want to become a burden to his husband but at the same time, he wanted to help Usagi as much as he can. He felt absolutely useless compared to everyone else.

Immediately, Usagi pulled the boy into a tight embrace. "Please don't cry, my love… Your sadness makes my heart crumbled to pieces. Misaki, please don't think you're becoming a burden to me. YOU WILLNEVER BECOME A BURDEN TO ME! Haven't we already promised to love each other eternally…my love."

Misaki buried his wet face on the man's shoulder. He cried softly into the man's hug, thinking how lucky he was to have married this man. Usagi ran his slender fingers through brown hair and wrapped his arm around the boy's waist. After a while, Misaki had calm down and Usagi landed a quick kiss on his forehead.

"Just go with Nowaki. You will be safe around him. And if you want to help, you can help to treat the injured troops. It will be a great service to me." Misaki lifted his sight and looked into the amethyst eyes.

"REALLY! Ok , I'll go but make sure you come home uninjured." Usagi let the boy go. His trailed after the other with his eyes, making sure that the he would be safe. After that, he slowly made his way to the main hall.

However, Usagi was not aware that their little sweet moment was watched by a dark figure hiding in the recesses of the hallway, out of sight from prying eyes.

~Flash back ended~

Usagi managed to slip into the main hall, moving slowly under the shadows. His eyes scanned the hall but the king was gone.

Meanwhile, in the capital, Misaki was busy treating the injured troops. Luckily, it was just small injury and scratch. Nothing serious had happen yet.

"Ritsu-kun, help me to take the water from the well. And bring some herbs from the stock." Misaki quickly finished dressing the wound for Nowaki. Apparently, his arm was scratched with the sharp dagger of a guard.

"It's all done, Nowaki-san." Misaki happily paced around the room, taking the blood soaked clothes and throwing them into a basket.

"Thank you, Misa-chan. You really help us by being here." Nowaki smiled at the boy. A soft thud coming from the entrance startled the two men. Misaki turned his head, looking for the cause while Nowaki instantly grabbed his long blade from the square table. In a split second, a black shadow immerged between the darkness and lunged at Misaki but it was blocked by Nowaki. Misaki was in complete shocked. "Nowaki-san!" Immediately, the sound of metal on metal echoed in the room. Misaki took a few steps back trying to give Nowaki some spaces and to calm himself. 'I can't believe that I almost died..?!'

"Show yourself, Emeraldian! You will never get away from here safely!" The mysterious figure cloaked in brown chuckled in amusement.

"Why are you laughing, human?!"

"Well, your word was very funny. It's not for you to decide if I can get away or not. Beside, I'm not a Emeraldian scum. Within my veins runs the royal's blood of pure blood vampire. You dare to put me at the same level as that little whore of a human." The man hissed slowly under his breath. He chanted softly between his breath and in seconds, a charcoal like color came swirling around the man hand. Misaki could see the man's face between the ruffle of the soft wind.

'Wait…that face, he…wait , he shouldn't be here…'

Slowly under his breath, Misaki uttered the most shocking name, "Usami Haruhiko!?"

"Hem, for a human whore like you, I never expect to be recognized. Anyway, your solemn purpose of living will be here. You will be the sacrifice!" With that, Haruhiko came flying across the room toward the confused boy. Nowaki sensed this and immediately blocked the attack.

"You better not take your eyes off me. I will make sure that you will pay for trying to hurt Misa-chan." In the instant, Nowaki's eyes flashed the color of gold and a pair of black wings spread beautifully in the dimly lit room.

"Hem, a demon… gold eyes, black tattoo wings… you are the Demon of Destruction. No wonder the south had become a little bit quite. Haruhiko drew out his sword, fusion it with the power of darkness.

"Yeah, it's become a decent place to stay. Living for hundreds of years, you have to find a nice place to relax." Nowaki smirked.

"Well, not for me…" Haruhiko slashed the air with the black sword. "Nothing that I wish will ever be granted. That's why I have to take what I want by force!" With that, Haruhiko swung his sword, cutting through the air. Nowaki dogged the attack and began to chant. A barrier of protective rose up around Misaki. Misaki could only watch the two men each trying to infuriate the other and make them lose focus.

"Tch, you're sure a bothersome… Nowaki I presume? I will make sure that you will regret facing me here…" Immediately, a gust of black wind swirled around the iron (You probably want to choose another metal. Iron would be too heavy for a blade and they don't deal well with shock so first impact would cause it shatter) blade to the man's arm. "In the world I shall summon you, the holy dark knight of the shadow world… Come, Kuroyami!" A harsh loud shriek echoed through the room. A red eyed dragon emerged from a spell's circle. Misaki stumbled down to the ground, his knees shaking too much to support him. The monster released a chain of blistering hot, swirling red flame, attacking Nowaki. Sensing this Nowaki dogged the attack and swiftly ran behind Haruhiko, releasing his long sword. "With the name of your master that ruled the south land, come! Mikage!" However, Haruhiko smoothly dogged the attack and immediately his wicked sword found its home against Nowaki's neck. Nowaki was paralyzed. Misaki on the other hand, managed to find his tongue as terror for the other's life over took him. "Nowaki-san, no…"

"I already told you, you will regret facing me here…" With that, Haruhiko stabbed Nowaki through the chest. Nowaki's eyes dilated shock. 'Hiro-san, I'm sorry…' Misaki shrieked in fear and covered his face. He was terrified but at the same time, he fell immense regret consumed him for what he had cause to happen to Nowaki.

"No! Nowaki-san!" The sound of Misaki's scream clashed with Haruhiko's laughter. He stabbed Nowaki a few more time before Nowaki finally collapsed. Tears started to flow down from the beautiful emerald eyes. "Why does everyone that cares for me have to die…" Misaki cried softly, his hand supporting him from falling to the floor. The protective barrier disappeared.

Haruhiko chuckled while making his way towards Misaki, the sound from his black boots echoing ominously. "Misaki, right?" Haruhiko lifted the boy's face with his blade and looked into the scare yet strong eyes. "Akihiko's bride, although I don't know what he sees in you…" Haruhiko lower his body to the same level as Misaki. The boy looked into the man's brown eyes. "Don't you think I should taste that delicious body of yours…" Haruhiko smirked evilly at the boy.

Misaki shuddered before his consciousness drifted away…

"I will take you to your beloved…"

Haruhiko grabbed the boy and carried him out of the disordered room. He looked once more at the dead body, grinning at the beautiful sight of the corpse.

"The darkness over here is sweet…"
