When Wukong and his 'friend' finally got to the other side of the institute, where Tryndamere shared a room with Ashe, his wife, shared a room, it was almost 9:00 at night. Wukong was getting tired of walking around with Fiddlesticks, and curfew was coming. He wanted to go have a drink. But he promised not to argue, so he walked on silently, trailing the ancient scarecrow.
Fiddle didn't even bother to knock. He simply sliced through the side of the door with his scythe, unlocking the door, and pushed it open. That worried Wukong. Tryndamere didn't seem to be the kind to be open to intrusions. But Fiddlesticks didn't seem to care. He couldn't have been more nonchalant. Well, that is, if a scarecrow can even be nonchalant.
Walking in, you could see that every surface that wasn't furniture had deep gashes in them. They looked like sword cuts. Which would make sense, Wukong thought, he uses a sword. As if to prove his point even further, as Wukong entered, he heard a large yelling sound from the next room and a sharp clang. Tryndamere was training.
The barbarian looked up from his 'training,' and noticed his company. Wukong cringed, while Fiddlesticks stood stoically, not seeming to care that he may have just set off the shortest fuse in the League of Legends. But, to Wukong's great surprise, Tryndamere seemed… happy.
"Fiddlesticks! My friend!" Tryndamere bounded over to the scarecrow and slapped his back so hard that one of his back branches snapped. "It's been so long! How are you?" It was amazing. Since when was Tryndamere friendly?
Contrary to Tryndamere's amicable manner, Fiddlesticks seemed positively disgusted by the closeness of Tryndamere's body to his. "Hello, Tryndamere." His voice actually seemed angrier than it usually was. I didn't know that was possible, Wukong thought. It's actually kind of funny. Fiddlesticks continued, "I want you to help me. This," he gestured to his monkey companion, "is Wukong, the Monkey King."
"Ah, I know you! I've seen you in matches a few times. You're quite good!" Wukong smiled and nodded in appreciation. Tryndamere's happiness was almost unnervingly infectious.
"Well, he was. But the initial excitement from entering the League has worn off, and Wukong here has fallen off. I want you to teach him to control his power, and to use his anger to his advantage." Wow, Wukong thought, how much has Fiddle done for this Institute? He really knows what he's talking about.
"Deal. When do you need me?" Tryndamere instantly accepted. Maybe he owes Fiddle a favor or something? "I can change my schedule to fit yours. As long as I don't get summoned!" Tryndamere chuckled to himself.
"I'll have Wukong find you in a few days. You and he can work out something as mundane as a schedule. We must leave, though, or we'll be forced to spend the night here." Fiddlesticks visibly shivered, as if that was the worst thing in the world that could happen.
They left the room and made their way back to Fiddlesticks' chambers. When he had been successfully locked away, Wukong made his way back to his room. As he walked, he met Annie, who was probably over at Teemo's room, playing.
"Well, mister monkey? Did the scary stick man help you?" Annie almost sounded sarcastic.
"Yes, Annie, Fiddlesticks helped me. He introduced me to a few of his friends, and they're gonna teach me how to get better," Wukong explained. Annie's face lit up at that comment, and Wukong quieted to let her speak.
"Mister monkey, can I help you? I can help you, I promise!" Annie was more excited than Wukong had ever seen. "Please please please please please?! I can teach you how to use your magic!" Wukong thought. Annie is definitely one of the best mages in the institute. But how much embarrassment can I handle? Can I deal with learning from an eight year old? Then Wukong saw her face, and how serious she was about helping. How eager to be of assistance. I can't hurt her feelings like that. If I did, I'd be no better than Fiddle, or Nocturne.
Wukong chuckled. "Alright, Annie, I'll let you teach me. I'll come back to your parents room in a couple days and when I'm done working with your dad you can have your turn." Annie's smile widened so much that Wukong thought it would hurt. She rushed over to him and jumped up to hug him. Wukong caught her with his monkey-like reflexes (get it?) and lifted her into the air. She giggled uncontrollably until he put her down.
"Thank you thank you thank you! I promise I'll be the best teacher you ever had!" With that, she skipped off towards the rooms she shared with Tryndamere and Ashe, her adopted parents at the League.
This is gonna be fun. I'll learn, I'll make new friends, and I'll start winning again. Wukong prepared himself for the next day, when Fiddlesticks would finish his tour and send him on his way for the final time.
