Robin's POV
"Team, last night Raven and I sort of connected with Danny. I saw through his eyes what was happening; I think I have an idea of his whereabouts." I said to everyone once they got back.
I looked over my team; Cyborg's bright blue glow wasn't as strong as it normally was. Beast Boy hadn't pulled a prank or thrown a joke and his ears were drooped. Starfire, except me, looked the worst; her eyes had no sparkle and she walked almost everywhere instead of flying. My whole team was sad about Danny's kidnapping.
"We are all greatly shaken by the events that have taken place, but we will find Danny again." The alien princess softly said.
"When I had connected to him the place he was in was dark and damp. Beast Boy, you and Cyborg will search the sewers in the north end, Starfire you'll take the east end, Raven will search the south end and I'll take the west." I said to my team. I gave them the go and they took off into the black night.
Raven flew off, indigo cloak flowing behind and short purple hair being blown by a soft breeze. Starfire also flew off, bright red hair like a flag behind her and green eyes full of determination. I looked down and saw Cyborg and Beast Boy drive away in Cyborg's blue and white car or his 'baby' as he called it.
After about 5 more minutes I walked down to the garage and drove my R-cycle to investigate the west section of the sewers.
I dropped down into a man-hole creating a splash and many ripples in the dirty water. I pulled out a flash light to cut through the dark and see where I was going. The walls were dark and wet, going on forever. My flash light only reached so far before being swallowed by darkness.
I walked on into the black in search of anything that might point to Danny. So far all I found was wet walls, a rat or two and a terrible smell. The whole place gave me chills and the thought of my brother being down here with Vlad scared me.
I opened every door, went down every passage, and checked everywhere. After about an hour of finding nothing I stopped and pulled out my communicator. I stood knee-deep in cold, dirty water; it had started raining outside, dripping water down on me. My black hair was plastered against my forehead from water and sweat. I just stood with my head down looking at my yellow and black communicator with a black T on the front. Soon it rang, alerting me of an incoming call.
"Cyborg to Robin, all clear over here, there's nothing and no one." I heard Cyborg's sorry voice over the link.
"Raven to Robin, I've found nothing either. All clear here." Raven said showing a hint of worry; I think I heard a pipe explode in the background from her emotions acting up.
"Starfire to Robin, I have found nothing over here, I am sorry." Starfire said on the verge of tears and ending our search.
"It's all clear over here as well. Let's meet back at the tower." I said back trying to sound strong but failing. Where was Danny? I didn't have any idea where he could be. Not only was I worried and frustrated but I was, for the first time since my parents death, afraid.
Sam's POV
"Why would Danny like you? You're weak, worthless, and mean nothing to him." Lady Vanish said hitting me with a shadow again. Her black eyes drilled holes into me and her long green hair seemed to have a mind of its own at times.
"You're wrong, Danny needs me, and I will always fight for him until the day I die!" I yelled back at her. My little outburst only earned me another kick to my middle.
Lady Vanish soon left, leaving me alone in the dark room chained to the wall. I laid back and closed my eyes. Unfortunately sleep seemed to be far from me as my mind was fully awake. My body started to hurt and my muscles were sore.
I hated being here, how could I have let Vlad find me, now Danny was in danger and hurt. If Danny broke there was nothing stopping Dan from coming out. I didn't know what Lady Vanish planed to do with Danny, but I knew it wasn't good. It would be great if anyone knew her full plans. I don't even think Vlad knows she is planning something big.
If I'm going to survive I should keep my mouth shut, but my rebellious attitude can sometimes get in the way. Thank the ancients I'm not dead yet. I lay my head back hoping to get some sleep. It felt like hours but sleep did eventually come.
My eyes quickly shot open to see a horrifying sight. There were flames everywhere and everything was destroyed. I was no longer cuffed in a tiny dark room but standing in the middle of the once beautiful burning city.
I could hear faint cries of children and people and the crackling fire in my ears. The fire burned and I covered my face from smoke and the heat. I walked on through the rubble and wreckage avoiding spots with burning embers. There was nothing left; most people had left, not bothering to try to get their city back.
I looked over the burning remains and saw an old woman trapped under a burning beam. I ran over and gently shook her. She opened her old tired brown eyes. Her graying hair was frizzy and burned in some places.
I moved to the burned black beam and grabbed on to try to lift it off. I couldn't do much but it was enough for the old woman to wiggle out with some difficulty. I carefully helped her up and into an underground safe house where there were others waiting.
"Bless your soul young lady." She said weakly. She was pretty badly burnt but she would be ok.
In all that was going on one voice stood out the most; one bone chilling laugh that could make even Batman run for cover. I knew the owner of that voice; it was the voice of a monster… Dan.
"Sam, you cannot win, Danny's fate is unavoidable!" The twisted voice of Dan said.
I wanted to scream, tell him he's wrong, do anything but it felt like my body was frozen to the spot. I opened my mouth but no sound came out. I looked up at the image of Dan, flaming white hair, red eyes, fangs and green skin. He had a much bigger build and towered over everyone. His face will forever be burned into my mind.
He raised his black gloved hand and shot a bright green ecto blast at me. I opened my mouth and was successful and producing a scream.
I opened my purple eyes wide in fear and noticed I was breathing hard and sweaty. I looked around and saw I was still in the dark and damp cell. It was only a dream; no… nightmare.
Thanks again for all the reviews and follows! See you next time.
