Interlude
Disclaimer: Disney owns Gargoyles, I do not. I'm just having fun.
Summary: Ok, this is getting out of hand…
A/N: I am so, so sorry that it's taken so long to get this up. So many things happened in between then and now, including 2012, which is when I got married. I finally have time to sit and work on some of my stories. Thanks to all my readers for sticking with me, even though I know it takes forever for me to update. I hope you enjoy this chapter!
TTTTTTTTTT
"Why are you looking at me that way?"
"What way? Sister, you're imagining things."
"I am not! You're my rookery sister, Ophelia, I know you. Now spill it!"
"I just… do you think we should tell the others what happened on patrol?"
"Why should we? It's not important. We saved the guy and he thanked us. That's it."
"Yes, but he recognised you!"
"Look, Fox told me these things happen. He only knows who I am because I've been in the news recently. Soon, humans get tired of the same old thing and they move on. "
"I suppose."
"Besides, he was very nice to us. He even asked me to sign my name on his shirt. I mean, that's weird, but I prefer that to someone who wants to hurt us."
"Aye, you do have a point there."
"See? At least some good is coming from all this. Now, if only we could get Father to see it…"
"I wouldn't get my hopes up about that one."
"Yeah, you're probably right."
TTTTTTTT
"Thanks for filling in on such short notice, Liam. I totally forgot that it was Owen's day off."
"No problem, Mr. Xanatos. I nearly forgot myself. I'm still adjusting to the fact that he actually takes that off day."
"Oh, you know how it is. Marriage and parenthood changes everything."
"You're telling me. At least his little girl is just like him. I saw her once with the missus. Real cute kid, calm too."
"I can't disagree with you. To business then; do you have the reports for this afternoon's meeting?"
"The one with the Mayor?"
"That's the one."
"I don't know how you do it sir. You get to meet so many interesting people. Reminds me of my cousin Jimmy, you know, the one that works at that fancy French Restaurant I recommended to you and your wife?"
"Yes, yes. How is Jimmy doing?"
"Fantastic, sir. Oh, here, you missed a page. Anyway, the poor guy got mugged last night, but guess what? That gargoyle babe, the lavender one? She knocks the perp out, her and another gargoyle babe with unbelievable gams- at least, according to him."
"Wait, you say this happened last night? Is he sure?"
"Pretty sure, she even signed his shirt for him! He says her name's Angela. New York, huh? I wish I had that sort of luck. So, here's that set, what about the interview with Time Magazine?"
"…"
"Mr. Xanatos?"
TTTTTTTTT
"Hey, Dee. Have you see Goliath?"
"You are sure you wish to find him?"
"It's that bad, huh?"
"He is…being very silent."
"Oh, this is ridiculous. Angela is a big girl. She may have made a thoughtless mistake, but so does everyone else from time to time."
"Even you, Kristi?"
"Yes, Delilah, even me."
"I guess it must be hard for Angela. Lex told me that fathers feel protective of their children."
"That's true, but Angela isn't a hatchling. She has to make her own mistakes and learn from them."
"Hmm."
"Well, nevermind, Dee. They'll work through it."
"I hope so."
TTTTTTT
Will they? Won't they? Who knows? Again, I know it's short, but I wasn't even planning on having it go on this long. The next chapter will probably be the last one; after all, it'd probably be best for all of this awkwardness to go away before the Breeder's Moon ;)
As always, feel free to review
