A/N: I'm talking about imprinting in this chapter. Also, here's a cool fact about what I did with this story and how it relates to Neverland: I finally shortened up Paul's name, and I had him shorten Aiyanna's name to Aiya. In Neverland, Princess Tiger Lily is the Chief's daughter (obviously lol) but in this story, they give her Native name as Aaya. And I picked Aiyanna because it means 'Eternal Blossom' which fits the whole Neverland ideal of never growing up. Yeah... I thought it was pretty cool. Lol.
Anyways, sorry for my little fangirling there for a minute.
I could really use a beta, so if anyone would like to be that person, just let me know!
Disclaimer: I do not own anything from Twilight or Neverland. I only own this story and my own characters. Also, I do not own any of the legends from the Quileute Nation or from Stephanie Meyer's Eclipse.
Previously on Neverland:
Pallaton turned to stand in front of me, removing his hand from my grasp and put his hands on my shoulders. He stepped back, motioning for me to stay where I am.
He began stretching out his limbs, cracking and popping noises could be heard from his neck and arms. He looked at me, a hopeful gaze on his face. Looking all around him, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. All of a sudden, it was like an explosion. His body just… burst with fur.
I dropped to my butt with shock, unable to voice anything as my throat was choked up in surprise.
It's the wolf.
He's… magnificent.
Holy shit…
Pallaton's a… wolf.
I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, I couldn't even blink.
Pallaton's wolf body was massive, even larger than his human form, which is a hard feat to accomplish. He was so very large and intimidating, and I was absolutely terrified, but at the same time, I was strangely at peace.
I didn't dare move, the fear inside of me taking over my whole body. The wolf lowered itself onto its stomach, whining at me. Slowly, it shuffled forward, closer and closer to me. I didn't know what to do, but I just watched.
Soon, the wolf, his size still dwarfing my own, was directly in front of me. His large head moved down towards my own. His hot breath fanned over my face, and my eyes closed. I squeaked when I felt his warm, wet nose touch my face. I heard a whine, and soft fur was surrounding me. I opened my eyes to find the wolf to hovering over me, his face leaning to the side watching my face.
Looking into his eye, I was shocked to see such human emotions showing in them. That was the thing to calm me instantly.
'This is Pallaton. He wouldn't hurt me.'
I reached out to stroke along his face, scratching at his ear, giggling at his tail wagging. Moving forward, I reached around his neck, hugging him.
"I'm so sorry that I was afraid before. I didn't understand. Please forgive me."
I rubbed my face along his fur, needing to comfort his big wolfy body. His body began to vibrate and loud rumbling noises were coming from him.
He is purring!
I smiled at the thought of making him happy, knowing that that was all I needed to do if I want to be happy.
For some reason, I felt perfectly content to just be there with him. I knew that nothing ever felt like this, being with Pallaton, and I doubted that anything could ever make me this… happy.
I was genuinely happy just sitting here with him. I only ever dreamt of being in this state of bliss. It was like nothing could ever try to bring me down. And it wasn't forced.
After a little while, I felt the fur disappear and strong, large arms were wound around me, gripping at my back. My head was resting on his pecs.
We continued to lay there, surrounded by the sounds of the night, crickets chirping, birds cooing and calling all around us. Looking up at the sky, I saw a different night sky than I did back at home. I was saddened that I wouldn't be able to recognize where those familiar constellations were arranged out above me.
Sighing, I laid my head back down against Pallaton. He began to move his hand up and down my back in, what I assumed it to be, a comforting gesture.
Smiling at me, he leaned down to nuzzle his head against mine.
I hid my smile into the skin on his cheek. Breathing in deeply, I was, once again, filled with his amazing scent. It was like everything that I love to smell, all at once.
His hand reached up to cradle the back of my head, as he turned it to face him. As he looked into my eyes, he said something in his native language. Although I couldn't understand what it was that he said, I felt this intense rush of feelings surge through my body, heating a fire within me. I went weak with those emotions, and my breath was choked up in my throat.
He leaned in towards me, his large, black eyes keeping my gaze on him until they crossed. As his nose traced my cheekbone, my grip on him tightened. I felt the pulse of my heart speed up as it pounded in my body, the sound of the blood rushing through me was roaring in my ears.
Pallaton's breath wafted over my face and I closed my eyes in response. I never felt anything like this before. I've never wanted anything more than this human closeness. This skin-to-skin contact, no matter how chaste, meant more to me than anything I could have ever imagined.
His lips grazed over my cheek, enticing a rush of blood up to my face. He moved to the other side, rubbing his nose against my other side. When his lips touched my cheek, I sighed, leaning into the kiss. I cannot explain my actions, for I have no words describing why I would be behaving this way. My body was just responding on it's own to whatever Pallaton was doing.
My fingers wove into his long, beautiful, raven locks, tugging gently on them as his kisses descended towards my neck. Pallaton was only fanning those flames that he created inside of me.
I heard a loud set of howls, and then cheering.
It spooked me, and so I tensed up. Pallaton, as if he sensed my fear, stopped what he was doing and began to comfort me in the only way he knew how. He started to croon at me, his hands swiping along my face, as if he were trying to wipe away the fear from my body.
As I was beginning to calm in his arms, there was a rustling of the leaves not far from where we were. I shrieked and tried to shove myself further into Pallaton's body. His arms tightened around me, and he began to growl at whatever was making the noise.
I heard a deep masculine chuckle, and Pallaton's native language was being spoken by a voice I haven't heard before. Pallaton's growling stopped, and he stood up, swinging me into his arms. He carried me back over to the fire, and I heard cheering from the people around me. I can only imagine what they're assuming, and I felt my face heat up and I thrust my head into the crook of Pallaton's neck.
His body shook with his laughter, and I felt him kiss my temple. He sat down, maneuvering my body so that I could leave my head at his neck. I didn't want to move because I had a feeling that he wanted me to stay like that, with his not-so-subtle hand at the back of my neck, holding me there.
Remembering how I reacted to his kisses and caresses at my neck, I leaned up, curious to see how he would respond. I let my nose run across his skin, and his body shook, as if that was the most sensitive spot on his body. Smiling, I continued my trek along his neck with my nose, breathing in his heavenly scent. It was one I could seriously get addicted to.
As I got more brave, I puckered my lips, leaning in even closer. My eyes closed as I kissed the skin on his neck. He gave a full body shudder and his arms tightened around me even further. I felt his body begin to purr once again. I licked my lips. His skin tasted as amazing as it smelled!
I got more bold and sucked his skin into my mouth, suckling it gently. Growls erupted from his body, and I smiled, pulling away. I rested my head against his chest, watching the rest of the tribe.
Old Quil walked towards us, his face full of happiness. I moved to stand, but Paul was holding me tight to him.
"I am sure that you are wondering why we are letting you in on our tribe's biggest secret." I nodded. "Well, there is another legend. One that pertains to you."
"Me?"
"Yes. You represent something that is very sacred to our Quileute nation."
"What is that?"
"You, my dear, are what is known as an imprint."
"I'm a… what?"
"When a shape-shifter imprints on a specific person, he becomes unconditionally bound to her for the rest of his life. When it happens, the experience is described as being gravitationally pulled toward that person while a glowing heat fills him. The connections of everything else become severed, or simply secondary, and only the imprintee is left to matter, leaving the shape-shifter with a deep need to do anything to please and protect the person. Imprinting occurs only after a wolf's first phasing. It can happen with anyone, regardless of previous personal feelings. It happens the first time he sees the human object of his imprinting. If the shape-shifter does not react to a human subject the first time he sees them after he phases, that means he will never imprint on that human. Pallaton here, imprinted on you." (Directly from The Twilight Saga Wiki website on imprinting. I was too lazy to change this up for this story)
"How often does imprinting occur? Why does a wolf imprint? Can he imprint on more than one person?" I could barely breathe. I felt my heart constricting in my chest at the thought of sharing Pallaton. My hands reached to his arms and I gripped them, pulling him closely, my nails digging into his skin. I heard him whine behind me, nuzzling at my neck, trying to soothe me.
"One question at a time, my dear." The shaman laughed. "Imprinting can only happen once for a wolf in his lifetime. Once it does, the woman he imprints on, will be it for him, for the rest of their existence together. This bond is a special gift from the Spirit Gods. It is the most precious, and protected, of all in this tribe. Now, a wolf imprints to satisfy that wolf's needs, making him stronger, and more focused on his duties in the pack. She is the one person who can bring him true peace."
"And you think that I'm that person for Pallaton?"
"No, I do not think, I know that you are that person for Pallaton."
"But… why me?" I whispered, unable to believe that I could be the perfect other half for someone this wonderful.
"There is no reason why. It was written in the stars ever since the day Pallaton was born. You were only born because you were meant for him. Anything that happened to you, no matter how tragic, was only meant to bring you to him. We are sorry for anything that you were put through, but you were brought here for a reason. And that reason is the young man holding you."
I stayed silent, my heart pounding in my chest. 'I'm made for him. Everything I was put through, was to get to him.'
Then, I got saddened again. 'Why did I have to go through so much? I mean, I still have to be carried most of the time because I get so weak.' Not that I ever really minded it when Pallaton carries me. I always get this girlish thrill of it.
"Is Pallaton the only one who has imprinted?"
"No, there are many imprinted couples within the pack, however this is the first imprinting since we've come to Neverland."
"How many people turn into these wolves?"
"Many of the young men in this tribe are part of the pack. They are very good in protecting this tribe. I would say about 20 men in this tribe are shifters."
"Shifters?"
"That is what they call the men. They are not children of the moon, much like other legends believe, because they do not shift with the lunar cycle. Pallaton and the others in the pack shift when they please, or when they need to do so."
"So, you said that they protect the tribe." Old Quil nodded. "What do they protect you from?"
"Ah, my dear. That is another tale, one that will be told at another time. I do believe that we've exhausted you enough with our stories for one evening. Now, just enjoy the festivities of the night." He smiled and patted me on the head.
Pallaton shifted me so that I was perched on one knee, his arm loosely holding my back upright, as I was turned with my legs resting in between his widely parted ones. Looking up into his midnight eyes, I smiled at him.
"Pallaton." He cocked his head in question, the corners of his lips lifting up into a small smirk. "We need to make that a bit smaller. It's quite a mouthful. How does Paul sound? Can I call you that? Paul?"
His eyebrows furrowed together in confusion, and I sighed. "I don't understand how this can work if we cannot understand each other." I thought for a minute, and then smiled as an idea popped up. I raised my hand and traced his features along his face, starting with his temple. "Paul." I placed my other hand at his heart, and just repeated myself. "Paul."
One of his hands came up to rest over my own on his chest. "Pallaton." He told me in his gruff voice. I smiled at him. "I know. I'm giving you a nickname. Something I only call you. Something just between you and me. Paul. Paul-aton." I stressed the Paul sound in his name. "Paul-aton. Paul."
He smiled at me, seemingly grasping what I was saying to him. "Paul."
I nodded, excited at the thought of us finally coming into understanding of each other. "Yes! Paul."
"Paul." He paused and then took our hands to rest on my chest. "Aiya."
I giggled. "Aiya." I whispered at him. I was elated, and he was quickly picking up on that feeling.
Paul's grip on my waist strengthened and he pulled me closer to him. I blushed as he kissed my cheek sweetly. "Aiya." His voice became husky, and I nearly just became a puddle right there. I melted into his touch, molding to his body as if I were something he was just wearing.
Feeling emboldened, I leaned in to his face, brushing my lips against the scruff of his face. I moved to the other side, kissing his other cheek, and then his nose. Leaning back, I looked into his shining eyes, and he searched my eyes for a little while, before he tilted his head to the side and moved his face closer.
My breath hitched as I realized he was about to kiss me. 'My first kiss.'
I closed my eyes as he came closer to me, feeling his breath on my lips. I tilted my lips to the other side, and leaned towards him. His fingers played at the back of my neck, his other hand fisting at my dressing. As his lips touched mine, I felt something indescribable. It was like sparks were flying in my head, and I was being sucked into these intense feelings of pure love. I've never felt happier in my life than I do when I'm kissing Paul. That insane inferno in the pit of my stomach was once again ignited, and I was happily burning.
Paul's lips moved lightly against mine, and I was mewling at him, trying to get impossibly closer. His large arms already engulfed me into his embrace, squeezing me firmly to him, his body vibrating with growls.
This kiss intensified, and I felt his tongue graze over my lips. I moaned as my mouth opened, and as our tongues dueled, all I could taste was Paul, and all I ever wanted to taste ever again was him. I wanted his lips against mine for forever.
After what seemed to be eternity, we pulled away, Pallaton gazed at me with a look of complete adoration. I yawned, and he chuckled, lifting me up and he stood. He carried me away from the commotion of the bonfire, and towards the cabins. Resting my head on his chest, I played with his long hair, reveling in the soft feel of it.
As we arrived at the cabin, he gently lowered me to the ground. Kissing me once again, he whispered "Nayeli, Aiya."
Although I did not know what he was saying to me, I felt a smile take over my face and this wave of love washed over my being. It was as if my body and soul understood, and that was enough for me.
Reaching my hands up to lay on his chest, I lifted up on my tippy toes. Paul bent down and I kissed him chastely on his lips.
Biting my lip, I grasped his hand and tugged him into the cabin. Going over to the bed area, I laid down, pulling him with me. I snuggled into his body, and sighed when he hugged me to him. Letting his scent fill my senses once again, I easily drifted off to sleep where we would also be together.
Sooooo, they kissed! And I thought it was really cute! Please review! Until next time
