Chapter Eleven Part 2: The Date
"Hello, do you have a reservation?" The man behind the desk asked who obviously couldn't care less.
"Yes." Draco answered.
"Name please." The man had still not looked up.
"Draco Malfoy." Draco said clearly.
The man immediately perked up, "Oh yes, Mr. Malfoy, right this way! We got you and your lovely date the best table we have."
They walked up to the table and Draco and Hermione sat down.
"Here are your menus, I hope you it in satisfactory."
Hermione looked over at Draco for a while before glaring at him. She kicked him in the shin.
"Ow! Why the hell did you do that?" Draco asked rubbing his leg.
Hermione rolled her eyes and up at the man who was still standing there, shaking with nerves or fear, Hermione wasn't sure.
"Thank you." Hermione spoke sweetly to the man.
"Your very welcome, Miss! And, Mr. Malfoy, you are always welcome!" And with that he walked off.
"You should have been the one to say thank you!" Hermione spoke sternly.
"Why?" Draco told her a little startled by her sudden outburst.
"Because it is the nice thing to do!"
"Well I don't usually thank anyone because they would think I have gone soft, and then they wouldn't be frightened of me."
"Isn't that a good thing?" Hermione asked.
"No, no one would do anything for me. Sometimes there are perks to being a Malfoy,"
Hermione rolled her eyes, "Alright," she looked down at her menu.
Draco sighed, "Ok, what are you worried about now?"
Hermione looked up, "What makes you think I'm worried about anything?"
"You fiddle with your hair when you're nervous or worried."
She looked down and saw that Draco was right. Hermione sighed putting her hands in her lap.
"I was just thinking about something Harry said."
"What did he say?"
"Um, well he was saying that you were using me to get to him, you know because of Voldemort. Then I told Harry that it was preposterous and that you wouldn't do that to me, you wouldn't would you?"
"Hermione, NO! Of course not! I want to be with you!" He drew her in and kissed her fiercely.
"I would never help him because helping Voldemort helps Lucius and that is one thing I will never do. So no, I'm not using you to get to Potter. I have no doubt you'd kill me in my sleep if I did." He added.
Hermione smirked, "And you better remember it."
"Thank you, for everything. It's been less than a week and you've had more than your fair share of crazy." Hermione said smiling.
"Granger, I dig your crazy."
Hermione kissed him again. She pulled back abruptly when she heard someone clear their throat.
"Hi, I'm Hillary! Do you know what you would like to order yet?" Said a busty blonde, with a little too much cleavage showing for Hermione liking, and it looked like Draco noticed it too. Hermione felt a streak of jealousy flow threw her.
"No, Hillary, we haven't. So why don't you go flaunt you breast to someone else!"
Hillary sent a glare Hermione's way before she stormed away.
"Was that too much?" Hermione asked.
Draco chuckled, "I already told you I only want you. Besides, blonde witches are a dime a dozen. I much prefer tiny brunettes." Hermione giggled, and leaned over and kissed Draco again.
"So, you wanna ditch this place and steal something from the kitchens and eat in my room?" Draco offered.
"If it keeps that blonde ditz away then I'm game."
Hermione and Draco were lying down on Draco's bed eating chocolate strawberries.
Hermione laid her head on Draco's chest, "I wish we could stay like this forever, but I know that tomorrow is just going to bring us another bucket load of problems."
"Then why don't we just make the most of today."
Hermione smiled, adjusting her position so she could give Draco a peck on the lips, "How is it I used to loathe you?"
"It should be me asking you that."
He leaned forward and kissed her – soft and sweet. It was a pleasant, warm and beautiful kiss and she felt herself relax into it. Her heart raced as he pulled away from her, taking his warmth away.
She looked into his icy blue eyes getting lost in them. Then with a flutter, they closed and instinctively, so did hers as he pulled her against his again.
They collided and his mouth was hard on hers unyielding, but his lips softened and she could feel the rapid beat of his heart. His hands tangled with her hair, and she wrapped her arms around his neck deepening the kiss.
Draco laid her down on the bed, giving her sweet kisses on her neck, sending chills down Hermione's body.
Draco pulled away for a second, "I know we haven't really officially gone out on a date, but," Draco reached into the pockets if his jumper and pulled out a velvet case, opening it and revealing a diamond necklace, "would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"
Hermione sighed in relief, "At first I thought that was an engagement ring, but yes I would be delighted."
Draco smirked and leaned forward kissing her again.
"I knew you'd come around."
A/N: Sorry this chapter was so short I am still going through the writers block phase, but I am going to go watch Harry Potter 6 and maybe I will get some ideas.
