Amy's Choice
I walk in to the control room to see the Doctor looking at something in his palm.
"What is going on?" I ask as I make my way up the stairs.
"Jaz, where have you been?" the Doctor questions looking at me.
"What do you mean? I was in the library reading," I explain in confusion.
"So you have no idea what Rory, Amy, and I just went through."
"What you went through?" He holds out his hand for me to see what he is holding.
"Psychic pollen, made us all fall in to a dream state, except for you."
"Is that a problem?" I ask trying to understand.
"This was heated up and it induces a dream state."
"Where were you when you fell asleep?" I ask wondering what is going on.
"I woke up here. Amy and Rory must be in the bunk rooms. Those are pretty close."
"The library is pretty far from here," I comment as I point to the other direction.
"Right, you were probably unaffected because the pollen didn't reach you." I just nod my head still confused by the whole situation. The Doctor goes back to looking at the specks in his hand. A few moments later, Rory and Amy enter the room.
"Any questions?" the Doctor asks as he leans against the console.
"Hah!" Rory says in bewilderment.
"Um…what's that?" Amy asks referencing the stuff in his hands.
"A speck of psychic pollen from the candle meadows of Karass don Slava. Must have been hanging around for ages. Fell in the time rotor, heated up and induced a dream state for all of us." The Doctor explains before heading to the door of the TARDIS. He releases the pollen out in to space.
"So that was the Dream Lord, then? Those little specks," Rory wonders aloud. I just sit back in listen having no idea what they are talking about.
"No, no. No. Sorry, wasn't it obvious? The Dream Lord was me. Psychic pollen, it's a mind parasite. It feeds on everything dark in you. Gives it a voice, turns it against you. I'm 907. It had a lot to go on."
"But why didn't it feed on us, too?" Amy questions.
"The darkness in you pair? It would've starved to death in an instant. I choose my friends with great care. Otherwise I'm stuck with my own company, and you know how that works out." Amy approaches him.
"But those things he said about you. You don't think any of that's true?" The Doctor dodges the question by changing the subject.
"Amy, right now a question is about to occur to Rory. And seeing as the answer is about to change his life, I think you should give him your full attention." He shoves her over toward Rory.
"Yeah. Actually, yeah," Rory states.
"There it is."
"Cause what I don't get is you blew up the TARDIS, that stopped that dream, but what stopped the Leadworth dream?"
"There was more than one dream? What happened?" I ask looking over at the Doctor. He just puts his finger to his lips and points to Amy and Rory.
"We crashed the camper van," Amy admits.
"Oh, right. I don't remember that bit."
"No, you weren't there. You were already…" Amy pauses unable to finish her thought.
"Already what?" Rory probes.
"Dead. You died in that dream. Mrs. Poggit got you."
"Ok. But how did you know it was a dream, before you crashed the van? How did you know you wouldn't just die?"
"I didn't," Amy admits quietly.
"Oh."
"Yeah." I look over at the Doctor and quirk my eyebrow.
"Oh." Rory reaches over and takes Amy's hand.
"Yeah, 'Oh'." They look at each other for a moment before Rory brings her in for a kiss.
"So…" the Doctor interrupts with applause. "Well, then, where now? Or should we just pop down to the swimming pool for a few lengths?"
"I don't know. Any where's good for me. I'm happy anywhere. It's up to Amy this time. Amy's choice." Rory and Amy stare lovingly at each other before Amy turns to look at me.
"Wait? Jaz, where were you when this happened?"
"In the library," I answer motioning toward the corridor. "Not really sure, why I wasn't affected. Better question, what happened to you?" Amy, Rory, and the Doctor all share a look before Amy answers.
"It's a long story."
DWDWDWDWDWDW
"Why do you spend all of your time in the library?" I look up from the book I am reading as Amy walks up to the table.
"Are you kidding me? There are books in this library that don't exist in our time," I say motioning to the shelves of books.
"I will never understand why you love to read so much. No one in our family ever read as much as you do," Amy comments as she sits down across from.
"Amy, can I ask you a question?"
"Of course," she says placing her elbows on the table.
"Did all of my baby pictures really get lost? Or were there never any to begin with?" Amy looks at me for a moment and then sighs.
"I always knew you would figure it out eventually," she starts. "No, there were never any pictures to begin with."
"Were you or Aunt Sharon ever going to tell me?" I question with a hint of hurt in my voice. Amy reaches over to take my hands.
"Aunt Sharon and I were going to wait until you were eighteen," Amy admits. "When did you figure it out?"
"Actually, the Doctor kind of helped." She releases my hands and looks at me quizzically. "Do you remember when we met Winston Churchill?" She nods her head. "You didn't remember the Daleks."
"You didn't either," she adds quickly.
"Actually, I did remember them. I remember the time that all the planets were visible in the night sky."
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"Because I didn't understand why I was remembering things that you didn't," I reply truthfully.
"Do you know why now?" Amy questions. I can tell she is unsure of whether or not sure really wants to know.
"After everything that happened in Venice, the Doctor said he had figured it out. Rosanna said they had fallen through a crack in the universe."
"Like the one in my wall," Amy comments. I nod my head. "So what, you're saying you came through a crack in the universe?" Amy questions in disbelief.
"After everything we've seen and experienced, you don't believe it's possible?" She sighs and rubs her face.
"This is just a lot to process," she admits.
"Believe me I'm still trying to process it. I remember things you don't because we come from different time lines."
"This is crazy," she says as she gets up and starts pacing. "So are you from the past or the future?"
"The Doctor says it's the future. Apparently there are antibodies in blood that don't exist on Earth yet." Amy just laughs at the craziness of it all. We fall in to silence as she continues to pace.
"You know this doesn't change anything, right?" I look up to see Amy staring at me wringing her hands nervously. "No matter where you're from or even when you're from, you are always going to be my little sister." I smile at her as she walks over to me.
"No matter what," I reply as she pulls me out of my chair and in to a hug.
