Season of warmth and long days. Five years after the Grey Goddess' creation. (You didn't think I would go in order now, did you?)
The statue of the White Demi Goddess Hylia was said to be the pinnacle of the work of the people of the Golden Goddess. It was built to grand perfection standing tall and proud, standing directly in front of the sun. There were some who said that it was casting a shadow on the clouds above and seemingly reaching to the very tips of the heavens above, scraping the sky. It was a monument to their glorious Guardian Goddess who watched over their realm when the Golden Goddess' could not. There were many shrines built for the Golden Goddess as well. Though there were few of those as all the other gods in the vast universe.
Though there was very well a good deal of knowledge about the Grey Goddess' existence there was not a statue for her as grad as Hylua's as the people know this Higher being of the female shape would probably not stay forever within their realm much longer. Many of the children respectfully wondered what new world this one would create like all the other gods had before before it and what different kind of people there would soon be. For diversity was something that was one of the things that made the universe thrive as well as making life worth living. So was the order that the God queen had created with her existence and the god king put into effect in his creation after her.
"So this is... the world of the Golden goddess...?"
In a small village two people walked together side by side in the throng that was swiftly going by them. One was a girl dressed and the other a young boy wearing a long flowing black outfit with his hair tied up behind him. They seemed to be out of place and not just because they did not have pointed ears and dressed in a strange garb and that the girl's long light red hair was plated in an odd way pulled away from her forehead in a v shape that was raised right above her eyes but was also obstructing her ears from view from in front and behind and was done up in such a way that it looked as if she had a pair of red fox or cat ears protruding out where her real ones should have been. The rest of it was tied in a long braid behind her that fell to her mid back. There was a strange red marking that was noticeable on the back of her palm of her hand whenever she moved. Dressed in a strange white shirt with long sleeves and a high collar and a red skirt like covering that flowed with grace around her. They both had strange wooden shoes that clacked against the hard pavement. None the less the both of them had acquired no strange looks from the passers by, in fact they smiled kindly at them as if as if they as well belonged here. They didn't look like gods since the girl did not seem to have the body of a goddess. Though no one stopped to stare if they had been right about that.
But the man's cat like eyes spoke not that he was even human and he walked with his own purpose and unknown destination. Sapphire blue eyes looked up at the clouds above looking at the towering building in the distance that no human could possible see from where they were now. "Yes... Quite nice isn't it?" he answered her as they made their way out of the village and towards the harbor.
From her window Hylia looked down at the lands below and frowned slightly.
"Yatogami... What business do you have here...?"
"Yatogami your grace? Is he a god?" Hylia turned to the male Sheikah attendant at the door and shook her head, golden locks flying.
"No... at least not fully." He is one that was created form a wish by the yearning hearts of humans... Something that the God Queen has just now forbade. He is nearly like a spirit... but much more powerful... Godlike in fact, but still not as so. Because of that, he and other's of their creed can turn a wondering spirit not yet taken by Thanatos or other gods of death into their own personal weapon and servants... Like a warrior to a god. But different and despite what that sound to you they can achieve a much more powerful relationship than even a god and their warrior can. They bless them with a name they have all but forgotten in their old lives... And since they share body and mind they are deeply connected to each-other, like kin, however the Fearling are causing that to become quite troublesome for them, causing disgusting thought in the Holy weapons mind thereby hurting their master... Despite that I find it to be quite lovely. ...Where is Rhea this time?"
The young Goddess Rhea sat cross-legged at the edge of the Harbor looking down into the crystal clear water.I don't want to leave her but... If I don't this won't be... the Goddess drew out a slight breath and then gently placed her hand in the cool water. Other then the slight ripple the water showed no reflection of the one who caused its waves. "Like a ever flowing stream time goes through ever grasping fingers... just like these vision I have... a stream... A child's wish... Time's flow is always cruel to everything... Horakhyt... do you feel the after you made it so?"
There was a sudden dark chill in the very air and something zoomed past the goddess's right eye. Rhea quickly pulled herself up and then jumped off of the pier landing lightly on top the watery surface as if it were just a puddle and not a great ocean undef her feet. Her eyes were hard when she saw it.
It was there, gliding over the water like a dark snake spreading its poison in every direction. A fearing, a creature of shadow a blight.
"So one that has no substance and does not belong in this world has shown its self here? It looks so pathetic and frail, dying in the very sun of the god king. Might as well put it out of its misery." And with that she raced across the water after it.
"Chuggiki!"
As Rhea ran across the water she heard a shout coming from the harbor and looked behind her. She met two shining cat like eyes looking at her as their owners quickly ran up right next to her holding a long double edged sword securely in his hands. The boy was dressed like someone from one of the many Japanese god's worlds. A long flowing black low v neck hakama with his long black hair tied back in a topknot away from his face. His eyes like hers were bright as jewels when set against the sun, but his pupils were that of cat like slits. They held each-other's gaze for an instant before the cat eyed boy jumped into the air towards the dark shadow. His sword was held high pointed straight at its target before slashing it into pieces.
The sky seemed to be torn apart with the force of the sword as it carved its way through the creatures body symbols seemed to appear mixed into the very air and the cat eyed boy landed gracefully on the water. He turned to the one next to him eyes narrowing slightly.
"I could have handled that."
"Oh... You're the grey goddess, Rhea was it? The god of calamity asked. Looking down at her through cat like eyes.
"What if I am. And whose asking? A god? A demi god? You definitely don't look human and yet..."
"Rhea, that is enough..." came Hylia's voice form behind them. The cat paused and then turned fully to the one standing on the water behind them.
"So you are Hylia..."
"Yato... I welcome you and your holy weapon here..."
The two older being looked at each-other before the boy turned and disappeared form sight. Rhea looked up at the sky as if searching for him before Hylia's shadow fell over her.
"How much do you like it here?"
"I wanted some fresh air... off from the ocean... But instead I met a really pissy cat...boy..."
Hylia closed her eyes and sighed. "That one of the male shape that you just met is a god born from a humans wish. His name is Yato... He is what is known as a Noragami... A stray God..."
"But... he has eyes like us... So what is he then?"
"He is neither a god or a demi god. But neither is he a human for he has the same body type as you and me... But he can feel love like a demi god but cannot act on it fully. And yet he is more then just a spirit. As expected, he and others like him lack the power to give up there love to become a god but he is not considered a demi so not one of them know where they belong. By the grace of Omoikane ones like him have been allowed to live in her own world... They are a strange presence in the God Queen's divine order and light and the God king Ra's granted life... But they are not untrusted... He will be with us at the entrance to the Skyview Temple in a few minutes... You will be personally thanking him and his Shinki Kasaine for helping you deal with that wandering Fearling."
"Mmm. ...What...?"
"So... you finally met Hylia. Are you satisfied...?"
"Shut up," Yato muttered to the sword sticking its blade into the forest floor.
"Hey! Don't just walk away and leave me like this! ...Yato...? Come back! You stuck me next to large hill and I have a uneasiness when I'm next to high places!"
Kasai is Japanese for fire. Yes I know. Yuki's name means snow. Snow and Fire. Ha ha ha... I am such a genius! Anyway. Yato is not my own. He is the main character in Noragami and is a complete bad-ass/idiot (though more of an idiot in the anime) He's also voice by Levi and Yuki is voiced by Eren. Kasai is mine however. You'll see more of her in the next chapter. If you want to know the reason why I added ne and ki at the end of the name and Chuugi and what the significance of the symbol on her palm is you'll have to read the manga, or watch the anime..
The manga is great. However I find the anime to be severely lacking. as in it went completely off form the original source material!
Aka original anime only ending.
