Hello! Please don't be pissed at me for updating late, I planned to do it this weekend, but got sick and didn't have time to write between barfing and sleeping. I know A LOT, of you want Klaroline, but be patient, you will get it. Now without further ado,
When they arrived at the catacombs the buzz of the talking fell silent, almost like respect for the dead. Caroline looked around fascinated, sure Caroline wasn't the best of students and had liked to party, but she had always been interested in history.
"Now," Creepy Shane announced. "You will be partnered up and assigned to a section in the catacomb, but keep in mind that the catacombs span for miles and I'd prefer not to lose students. Once you are assigned to your partners you will then..."
Caroline began to drone Shane out looking around in awe of all the bones. She felt a certain sadness of being around so many dead people, so many lives, so many souls, forgotten. Now just bones, piled on top of each other, unable to tell the difference from where someone ended and who else began.
Caroline began to pay attention again. "Kol and Bonnie, Elena and Elijah, Katerina and Rebekah-" She had to smile at that they absolutely hated each other. "Damon and Lexi, Caroline and Klaus-"
The smile immediately wiped off her face, great. Everyone was given a map and all went their own ways. At first Caroline didn't even look at him focused on the path ahead. They ended up going quite a long way from the others, taking about fifteen minutes to reach.
Once they reached the section they were assigned to Caroline finally turned to Klaus. "So, what were we supposed to do again?" Caroline asked. "I don't know." Klaus responded nonchalantly. Caroline grew angry.
"You were supposed to be paying attention!" "So we're you, love. Don't act like you weren't listening either!" Klaus shot back. "Well I'm sorry but-"
As Caroline talked her hand brushed up against a skull and suddenly she was hit with what seemed to be memories. A mother wailing in pain as she lie on a bed giving birth and the sudden cry of a baby, a young child taking her first steps, the child now a full grown woman who blushed as she spoke to a young man, the woman and man getting married, the woman large around the belly as she grew pregnant, the young couple holding hands and crying as they stood at the grave of their stillborn son, the couple rejoicing at the birth of another son, the woman silently crying as she holds her son while standing in front of the fresh grave of her husband whose's was next to that of their dead child, the woman clutching the child one last time as she gave him up for adoption unable to provide for him, and lastly the woman dying in bed with sickness, her forehead sweaty.
Then everything went black.
Bonnie smiled at Kol as they worked when suddenly they heard someone running towards them. When she turned she saw Klaus running at them with an unconcious Caroline in his arms. "Something's wrong with Caroline!"
