Jeff sits in a chair at his son's bedside. He watches the sleeping teen and pulls out his notebook. He begins writing a poem when he hears a noise. He looks up from his writings to check on the teen. Jeff fights to keep his emotions in check as he watches the teen sleep looking so fragile and weak. The boy wheezes a little in his sleep. Jeff sighs and wipes his tears.

8. Chapter 8

Jeff quickly walks down the hall, towards Nero's room. The door is closed, he takes a deep breath and opens it. He stepped inside quietly finding Seth, sitting at Nero's side with his head down on the bed. Nero laid sleeping peacefully, his left hand in Seth's. Jeff walked over and gently placed his hand on Seth's shoulder, rubbing gently.

Seth quickly sat up, looking at him.

"Hey.." Jeff whispers smiling.

Seth smiled and whispered back. "Hey.."

"How is he?" Jeff asked as Seth sat up more. Seth sighed, looking into his eyes. "He's stable now. We were watching tv when he started having the seizure." Jeff nodded and sat down on the other side of Nero, taking his hand.

Nero slowly begins to wake up. He looked up at Jeff, whispering. "Dad.."

Jeff kissed his hand and smiled. "Shh.. Don't speak, just rest." he said softly. Nero shook his head and looked back at him. "Dad.. I love you…" he whispered. Jeff kissed his head softly, trying to keep calm. "I love you too baby boy.." he said.

Nero smiled, taking a slow breath. He squeezed Jeff's hand gently. Jeff ran his thumb over the back of Nero's hand and looked back at him. "Hold on for me.." he pleads.

Nero smiled weakly and whispered. "I'll try."

His eyes grew heavy and sleep filled, he blinked.. Fighting the sleep.

"Sleep my sweet boy.." Jeff whispered, as he kissed the back of his hand.

Jessica and Roman walked into Stephanie's office later that night.

"Stephanie, we have a request for Friday's episode of Smack Down." they say. Stephanie looks up at them with curiosity.

"What sort of request?" she asked, setting her pen down on her desk.

"We want you to dedicate the show to Jeff's son Nero." they reply.

Stephanie looked at them in surprise. "Is he really that bad?" She asked quietly.

Roman sighed. "I was with him earlier. He doesn't have much time left, he has trouble with his breathing and he sleeps a lot." he said, putting his arm around Jessica. Stephanie teared up and nodded quickly.

"Yes.. Yes we'll dedicate the show to him… I feel awful now for treating Jeff like I did.." she replied.
