Jeff didn't stop to see what she wanted. He ran down the hall towards his son's room when he heard the sound. A high pitched electronic buzzing sound. Jeff got to Nero's room and froze in the doorway. Nero laid in bed looking as if he were sleeping. Jeff gripped the door frame, finally gaining his senses back. He stepped back into the hall, shouting up the hall. "Help! Please, somebody!" Doctors and nurses rushed down the hall towards the room. Jeff tried to watch, only to have the curtain closed in his face. He sank down against the wall, holding his head in his hands. He looked up as the nurse rushed by with a crash cart. He bit down on his lip, until he tasted blood. "Jeff?" A voice called out. Jeff looked up to see who it was, but was too distraught to even care. The person wrapped their arms around him, taking him to the waiting area. He sat in the chair, staring blankly at the floor. His thoughts were spiraling. "My son is dead.." He mumbled to himself as tears rolled down his face. Stephanie sat beside him, rubbing his back. She whispered soothing words to him trying to calm him. Some time later, a doctor and nurse come into the waitIng area. Stephanie looked up at them. "Mr. Hardy?" The nurse asks. Jeff looked up at her with tears in his green eyes. "Y..yes?" He stammered. She took a deep breath and looked at him. "I'm sorry, but your son did not survive." She said. Jeff shook his head and wiped his eyes, staying silent. "Can I see him?" He asks. The doctor agrees to set him up in another room. Stephanie looked at Jeff in shock. "Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked calmly. Jeff looked at her, finally realizing who she was. He stood up and shot her a deathly glare. "Get away from me." He growled. "Jeff, stop it. I'm here for you." She said calmly. "Bullshit!" He shouted. He turned to face her. "If you truly cared and were there for me, then you would have given me the time off I needed to seek better treatment for my son. My son died because you are a self centered, cold hearted bitch!" Stephanie stood frozen, speechless. Jeff's words were all true, she was wrong. Jeff never took his eyes off of her as tears began to stream down his face again. "And Stephanie, you can take my job and shove it up your ass." He said calmly, turning to follow the nurse.
