A/N: So I skipped a few months again. Thanks so much for the reviews, favorites, and follows. Love ya'll! :-)
2 ½ months later:
Olivia watched as Brian put the finishing touches on Zacharia's room. He painted it a light green color and Zacharia's name was on the wall over his crib. Olivia was actually surprised and proud of Brian for doing all this. He was working a lot but still managed to fix up a nursery. Today the changing table was delivered and that was the last thing they needed.
Olivia's due date was slowly creeping up. It was making her nervous. She just wanted to be a great mother but she had her mother in the back of her head as the months pasted and the due date got closer. She was just glad Brian was there for her when he could be.
She sighed when his phone went off knowing he would have to go back to work. He looked back at her before answering it. She walked back to their room and laid on the bed. She had been having so much back pain in the last month. She was glad she decided to leave work for a year. She thought she might not even want to come back because having a baby can change someone.
Brian walked in and sat beside her. He looked like he was baring bad news and she knew she had to prepare herself. She sat up and looked at him.
"They want me to go back undercover. This time it could be months before I'm back."
"Zacharia will be here in a few weeks. Are you seriously choosing your job over me and your kid? Answer carefully Brian."
"Liv it's not that. You know how work is important to both of us."
She rolled her eyes and stood up walking out of the bedroom. She grabbed her keys and started for the door until Brian walked out.
"Liv where are you going?"
"I don't know. I just don't want to be here right now. You need to fix your priorities before Zacharia gets here. If work is more important than I can't do this."
She walked out slamming the door.
…
She drove to Elliot's even though their friendship was on the rocks too. She knocked on the door and sighed as she heard shuffling.
He opened it staring at her, surprised to see her in front of him.
"You gonna invite me in?" She said raising an eyebrow.
He moved out of the way letting her in. She walked in and sat on the chair and he just stared at her.
"Did I choose the job over everything else? Over our friendship? My love life?" She asked biting at her bottom lip.
"Yeah, over the 12 years I've worked with you. The job came first before…everything. I guess you didn't have anything else and then Brian came and now the job is the last thing."
She sighed and nodded.
"I think Brian is choosing the job over me and the baby. I don't want that kind of marriage or family. I won't have that."
She jumped when someone knocked. Elliot stood up and walked towards the door seeing Brian walk in. Olivia and him looked at each other and she could tell he was upset. She use to understand putting the job first but now she didn't get it.
"Liv we need to talk. Will you come home with me please?" He asked reaching for her hand.
She followed him to the car after saying goodbye to Elliot. It was an awkward ride home they didn't talk. She looked over at him every once in a while. They got to the apartment and he parked looking at her.
"Liv you can't just walk out when we fight."
"You can't just pick the job over me."
He sighed and took her hand locking it in his. She looked up meeting his eyes.
"I am not picking the job. I told them I couldn't. I love you and I would never do anything to mess up our relationship. I am sorry I even thought about leaving you for that long."
"You are a man and you are saying you're sorry? What is wrong with you?" She laughed.
"I'd rather admit I was wrong than risk losing you baby."
She smiled and kissed him lightly before leaving the car.
…
Olivia lied awake next to Brian. She had been up since her back pain started again. She sighed and pulled herself from bed. She sat up when she felt a hand rub up her lower back. She smiled and leaned back into Brian.
"You alright?" He asked kissing her neck.
"Yeah. I'm just having some pain. I'll be alright."
She went to stand when a sharp pain went through her lower abdomen. She heard water splash and her feet were wet.
"Brian…my water just broke."
He rushed to the closet and grabbed her overnight bag. She sat on the bed breathing slowly in and out. She was trying not to panic.
They rushed to the car and Brian was asking if she was okay every five minutes. She had to text everyone and let them know she was going in labor. When they got to the hospital Olivia was breathing heavier.
"Get her to Labor and deliver!" A nurse shouted.
Brian sat beside her as the doctors and nurses rushed to get IVs and machines hooked up. She was still breathing heavy and Brian grabbed her hand.
"Olivia, I love you. We can do this." He said kissing her forehead.
"I love you too." Her voice shaky.
Olivia's contractions were 2 minutes apart and she was 8 centimeters dilated.
"Only two more centimeters until we are going to push, I think not having an epidural was a little risky Ms. Benson."
She sighed as another contraction waved its way through her body. She was in the worst pain of her life and she was now regretting the no drugs thing.
"Olivia are you ready to start pushing?"
She nodded and reached for Brian's hand again. He grabbed her hand tightly as they put her legs up in the stirrups.
The doctor nodded for Olivia to start pushing. She cried out as she pushed, she gripped Brian's hand as the doctor told her to push again. Brian whispered in her ear as she pushed trying to sooth her.
"One more Olivia!" The doctor said. "1…2…3"
Olivia pushed with all her might again as she heard the baby's crying fill the room. She felt the tears flow down her face. The nurses were cleaning him up. The nurse walked over laying him in Olivia's arms. Brian laid his forehead on hers.
"He is so perfect." Brian said kissing her forehead.
After a little the nurses took him to the nursery. Olivia asked for drugs as soon as it was all over. Brian was sleeping on the chair when the nurse came back in with Zacharia.
"Oh I thought she'd be awake. I'll come back later."
"No it's alright. I'd love to have some alone time with him."
She handed him to Brian.
"Do you guys know what his name is yet?"
Brian smiled down at the sleeping baby and rocked him.
"Zacharia Adam Cassidy…welcome to the world little buddy."
