Chapter 16: Bro-day everyday

"Sup?" Cry said to Felix as we walked in.

"Hey bro. Hi Bree." Felix grinned.

"Hey Felix." I gave him a small wave while I dragged over one of the many chairs in the room. Cry grabbed one as well and we sat in front of Felix's desk. "What's going on?"

"Well first of all, the mission was a complete success." He grinned. "It was better than a success! Not only did you get the alien weapons but survivors as well!"

"It wasn't just me! I think the others did more work than me. I screwed up a little." I said.

"Eh, nobody's perfect." Felix laughed. "Also, I heard that you liked this?"

Felix reached down form his desk and grabbed one of the alien whip things. He placed it on the desk and I grinned.

"Oh! Mine! Gimme!" I said jokingly and reached out to get it.

"We've called them Zappers." Felix said.

"Uh, question?" Cry said raising his hand. "Why am I here?"

"I miss my best friend?" Felix said and looked at Cry with this strange pouty face that just made me laugh. "Okay, also down to the point - I'm bored."

"What?" I asked confused.

"I have been stuck behind a desk for too long! Everyone of my friends is out there fighting for their lives and this little safe haven while I am here - BORED!" Felix sighed.

Cry smirked. "You wanna go on a field trip?"

"Please!" Felix said grabbed Cry by his hoodie.

"Okay, one; Let me go and two; calm the f*ck down!" Cry laughed.

"So can we go?" Felix asked grinning.

"Come on." I smiled and laughed as Felix fist pumped the air.

So we left. took a some supplies just incase we got into some trouble and had to stay somewhere overnight. We were driving along now, heading into the nearest town area with the chance of finding more supplies - and Felix hoping to find a fight. I was beginning to get a headache so I rested my head on my hand and I watched everything outside my window, seeing it all begin to blur as I slipped into a day dream, and then closer and closer to sleep. I felt my eyes close and everything went black.

An eleven year old girl ran ahead of her older brother and sister, literally quivering with excitement. Going to Florida had been a good idea. After the accident that took their parents, the elder sibling skies that they ah Flo try and make their little sister feel happy again. The elder sister called back the younger one and handed the girl her ticket and they all walked up to the gate a d handed them over, allowing them admission into DisneyWorld.

"Come on!" The girl shouted excited.

The girl laughed and glared at her brother as he suddenly shoved her and ran ahead to catch up the younger girl. The older girl smirked and ran after them, all three of them ignoring the strange looks they got come adults at the twenty six boy and twenty three girls behaviour while with their eleven year old sister. Should they have acted better? Show a better example? No! They were having fun and that's what they need right now.

The older girl ran, her brown hair whipping around due to the slight wind that had decided to come along with the sunny Florida weather, she laughed and for a moment closed her eyes. But within that moment, she collided into a stranger by bumping shoulders.

"Sorry!" She said turning round to see who she had bumped into.

"It's okay don't worry." A man said looking down as he brushed off his green hoodie and walked off, never looking at her.

"Come on!" He of his friends called out, his arm wrapped around the waist of a girl with red hair.

"I'm coming Russ!" The guy shouted and quickly jogged to catch up with them, the hood of his hoodie falling down to reveal brown scruffy hair.

But she never saw what he looked like... The brunette frowned but shrugged and carried on running but suddenly everything began to dissolve until she was left standing in darkness. She looked around panicked, calling for her family.

"Jamie! Ellie!"

Nothing. Her voice echoed out far, for anyone to hear but there wasn't anyone... Was there...?

"No there isn't Bree." A voice said.

One she recognised. The girl turned around and saw a man standing there. She knew him. He was the man she bumped into but he was wearing a mask!

"Cry?!" She said somehow knowing his name.

"Sort of." His mask began to glitch and one of the eyes glowed an ominous green. "You may know me as Virus."

"But... He isn't real!" The girl said, somehow also knowing this.

"Neither is this. We are in the deepest and darkest part of your mind. We're all of your demons and fears hide. You once had a nightmare about Cry turning into one of his once famous alter egos: Virus!Cry. I am that nightmare, controlled by something unknown to you. I am the devil within you. The thing that'll haunt your dreams and be where you are, always watching." He said.

He began to walk towards her. He began to glitch even more and strange greeny-blue encryption a began to appear onto his mask and he chuckled lowly as the girl began to quiver in fear.

"Keep away from me." She warned backing up.

"You can't escape from your own mind Bree. You could be happy here. Live happily in sunny florida with your siblings... I can make you meet Cry. You don't have to suffer in this world anymore." He said and grinned darkly and his face glitched.

"No!" She shouted and pushed him away.

He dissolved into pixels and he reappeared behind her.

"Boo." He said and laughed as she screamed.

He laughed and began to glitch even more, sparks of green scattering all around him.

"Leave me alone!" She shouted at him.

She fell to the ground and covered her ears. She couldn't listen, she had to ignore him. Stay strong Bree! She thought to herself. You can do this!

"I'll be back..." He whispered in her ear and dissolved back into pixels.

Then suddenly, she began to fall. She screamed as she fell, into a never ending pit of darkness.

I shot up and looked around, my heart hammering in my chest and sweat drenched my forehead. I saw Cry look in the rear view mirror and look at me as he sat in the passenger seat.

"You okay Bree?" He asked.

"Y-yeah... Just a nightmare." I smiled weakly at him and pulled my knees up to my chest as I sat in the backseat.

I looked out of the window and tried to ignore the worried glances I got from Cry. What was that dream!? It didn't feel like a normal one for sure... How could I have dreamed of Virus!Cry? He seemed so real... But he was just a made up fan thing. I sighed and tried to shake the thought out of my head. It was just a nightmare. There were worst things out here in the real world.

"We almost there yet?!" I asked a little impatiently.

"Almost." Felix answered.

We soon arrived and grabbed out empty backpacks, only carrying small supplies incase we got into trouble. I walked just behind the other two, holding up the rear. I don't know why but it was a little unnerving looking at Cry's mask - it reminded me of the nightmare.

We searched through a couple of buildings and found some supplies. We also searched for clothes in wardrobes of houses as some people - including myself - needed some new clothes to wear. I was searching through a warble in one room of a house and found a leather jacket. I smirked and grabbed it and pulled it on. It fit okay. I smiled and carried on searching when I heard Felix say something.

"Oh awesome!" He said.

I left the room I was in and went to the room he was in. He held up a t-shirt which had a fist on it. I saw him grin at it.

"One of your 'Pewdiepie' t-shirts?" I asked leaning against the door frame.

"Yeah." He grinned but then it changed into a sad frown. "I wonder what happened to the people here..."

"I wouldn't know Felix... There's not a lot of us left..." I sighed.

"Don't worry dude." Cry said behind me, making me jump. "We should be happy about the people we have managed to save so far. You're their leader, you're all they've got."

"I don't mean to brag..." Felix grinned at us and I laughed.

"Bro-day everyday?" Cry asked smiling.

"Bro-day everyday." Felix nodded, confirming their old saying.

I smiled but it quickly turned into a look of horror as a familiar cry echoed out through the city. We ducked down low and Cry slowly peered out of the window.

"What is it?" I asked, whispering.

"There's a whole pack." Cry said. "I'm seeing ten so far."

"Shit." Felix cursed.

"Okay, so what do we do? Fight or hide?" I asked.

"If we stay here they're might be a chance they'll find us or head towards the Haven." Felix said.

"But if we fight, we might not return." Cry said.

I reloaded my gun.

"What're you doing?" Cry asked me.

"Well, I'd rather die here and protect the Haven then be the reason for a hundred people dying." I said. "So I'm going to fight, even though I'm shooting bricks. Seriously, with the amount of bricks I'm shutting right now I could build a house."

"The f*ck?!" Felix chuckled lowly. "Well, I guess I'm in. Cry?"

Cry stayed silent but then he looked at us, with his gun in his hand. "When life gives you bullets..." He said in a deep voice. "CORMANO!" He yelled and turned to the window and fired.

"Yeah! Game reference!" Felix laughed and began to fire through the other window as well.

I quickly ran downstairs and went to the living room window and began to fire at the Glitchers. They began to look around and scream in panic, the surviving ones glitching out while most of them laid dead on the floor. We stopped firing and waited for them to return. They quickly returned and I ran outside with Cry on my tail. I pulled out my Zapper and cracked it against the ground, allowing green sparks to fly. I slashed at the Glitcher that ran towards me. I saw its eyepiece flash green and I felt myself freeze. Suddenly, Virus had replaced the Glitcher and I saw him grin at me before everything went dark.

The girl woke up again and found herself sitting on a sofa. She suddenly smelt something beginning to burn and she cursed and jumped to her feet, running to the kitchen and quickly pulling out the burnt dinner. She cursed under her breath and ran her hand through her long brown hair frustratedly. She had to think of an alternative; he would be here soon!

Suddenly, inspiration hit her like a lightning bolt and she began to rummage through her cupboards. She had brought pizza dough the other day and other ingredients; thank god she had been in the mood for pizza that but was too lazy to make one.

She heard the doorbell ring and she sighed and ran to the door, pulling down her jumper and fluffing up her hair to try and make herself look presentable. She opened the door and there he stood. He grinned at her and held up a bottle of wine.

"Hey." She breathed.

"Hey." He answered. "I brought wine."

"Awesome!" She grinned.

"So what's for dinner?" He asked stepping inside.

"Well, this is embarrassing but I kind of killed the dinner." She laughed nervously, worriedly.

He let it a laugh that just made her smile. He looked at her and grinned. "So what's the alternative?"

"We are news chefs of our own pizzeria!" She said and held up her hands.

"Woo!" He yelled excitedly and ran in, placing the wine in the table.

He took of his jacket and hung it on the chair, rolling up the sleeves of his white dress shirt and walking over to wash his hands. She joined him and did the same. Then they began to create the ultimate pizza. She grabbed the jar of tomato sauce while he began to flatten out the dough.

"Watch this." He grinned, grabbing the pizza base.

"Oh no... No don't!" She laughed as he attempted to flip the pizza dough up in the air. He cursed as he misjudged his catching skills and was barely able to catch it, just before it hit the ground.

The girl laughed and tied up her hair into a messy bun. She began to spread the tomato sauce across the newly rolled pizza base. He scooped up some up on his finger and he shoved it onto her nose, laughing at the surprised expression on her face

"Hey!" She said and wiped it off.

He grabbed the cheese from the fridge and began to grate it. She walked over to an iPod dock and placed her iPhone on it and began to play some music at random. The scruffy haired man slowly began to dance a little awkwardly, making the girl laugh as GORILLAZ began to play.

They began to sprinkle different types of cheese all over the pizza, hips swaying and bad singing included. Then they got the toppings. She began to cut up some pepperoni to add to it while he grabbed some sausage and cut that up. After decorating their unhealthy pizza, they placed it into the oven and then stood there smiling.

"I think that went pretty well." He said looking around at the mess they had made.

She laughed and they began to clean up, having an extra five minutes to spare before the pizza would be done. They sat down in the sofa and she cuddled up next to him. He smiled and wrapped an arm around her, kissing her forehead. She looked up, and he smiled. They shared a quick kiss before the oven beeped, letting them know that they're masterpiece was ready to be eaten.

They quickly got up and she slipped on some oven mitts and placed the pizza on the kitchen side. She got it onto a plate and cut it up while grabbing an extra two plates and she carried it into the living room and placed it on the large coffee table, sitting in between the sofa and the TV.

"Netflix?" She asked and he nodded while scooping up a slice and putting it into his plate, wincing as it was a little hot.

She searched through and chose a movie they both enjoyed to watch. They sat there laughing while watching the film and eating their pizza which had turned out to be surprisingly good. As the film was beginning to reach the end, she looked at him and smiled.

"What?" He chuckled.

"You've got a little sauce on you're face." She said.

"Where?" He asked. "Or are you lying to annoy me?" He smirked.

"Here." She said and leant forward and kissed him lightly on the lips.

He smiled and kissed her back. They broke apart and he looked down at her.

"I guessing that was a lie." He smirked.

"Maybe." She smiled slyly and tried to look innocent.

"Well, it looks like you have something on your face as well." He said and leant down and kissed her again.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. She broke the kiss, with their lips just inches apart.

"We're missing the ending." She whispered.

"It's on Netflix we can watch it again." He said and kissed her again.

She closed her eyes and waited to receive his kiss but she never did. She opened her eyes and saw that she wasn't in her living room, she was in the darkness again.

"No,no,no,no,no..." She said getting up and panicking, running her hands through her long brown hair.

"Still scared Bree?" Virus said appearing in front of her. "You should be."

"Stay away from me you son of a bitch!" She said walking backwards, away from him.

"You can't get rid of me easily Bree." He smirked. "I am you. I am your demons, your darkness. I control you! Look at what your doing right now..."

Virus looked to his right and then some weird imagery appeared. It was like watching a movie with strange swirling mist surrounding it showing the haziness of her mind. Bree watched curiously and warily.

She saw herself standing in the middle of a battle between Glitcher's and three humans - herself being one of them. Two men thought alongside of her, one with dirty blonde hair - Felix - and the other wearing a mask - Cry... She just stood there, her eyes no longer blue but a strange and eery green colour with her pupils dilated. Bree watched in horror as the other version of herself just stood there, not doing any hiring while a Glitcher ran at her.

"Bree! What are you doing!? MOVE!" Cry shouted at her.

That two men watched in confusion as the Glitcher stop in front of her and stare at her, quietly sniffing her while making clicking noises.

"Kill them." Virus and the other Bree said at the same time.

She watched in horror as the Glitcher let out a cry and charged towards the two men.

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" She screamed. "LEAVE THEM ALONE!"

"Come on Bree..." He coaxed. "I can make it all stop. You won't have to suffer in the real world anymore! You can live happily with Cry and your family. You can go to Disneyland and make pizzas and be happy! Just let me take over!"

"No..." She said, stepping backwards. "How did you even get in my head?!"

"Remember when you got scratched up?" Virus said.

She frowned and looked down at ther side where the Glticer attacked her.

"He may have put a bug in you." He smirked. "I'll see you soon Bree..." Virus said as he began to dissolve into pixels. "I'll see you soon..."

I woke up and sat up sharply. I looked around, breathing heavily and saw Felix and Cry sitting a little away from me next to a small fire. They both stood up and took a step towards me but I moved backwards until I hit a wall.

"Did I do those things...?" I asked.

"Bree-" Cry began to say.

"Did I do those things?!" I asked louder this time.

"If you mean command a Glitcher to kill us then yes." Felix said and Cry looked at him.

I felt my eyes wide and I wrapped my arms around myself.

"Bree..." Cry said. "Don't worry, we took care of them and your fine; were fine!" He took a step towards me.

"Don't come near me..." I said

"Bree! Come on, your fine now!" Cry said.

"No! I have a bug inside of me!" I said and lifted up the bottom of my shirt and ripped off the bandages that were stained with blood due to the wound reopening.

"What are you doing?!" Felix said as they watched me tear away at the bandages.

I removed the bandages and I placed two fingers on one of the long and wide scratches. Deep beneath the wound, I could feel something, a lump, a bug.

"I- I can feel it. There's a bug in me." I said scared and I looked up at them.

"We have to get rid of it." Felix said.

"How?!" Cry said.

"I think well have to cut it out." I said quietly.

"No!" Cry said sharply looking at me.

"It's either that or you can leave me here!" I snapped. "I've already returned to the Haven with it in me, they may already know its location but if they don't we have to get rid of this bug! Now!"

"She's right..." Felix said quietly.

"I can't cut it out on my own..." I whispered.

Cry picked up a small knife and held it in his hand, looking down at it. Then he sighed.

"I c-can't do it!" Cry said annoyed. "I just can't!"

"I'll do it man..." Felix said placing a hand on Cry's shoulder. "Go and find her something to bite down into, it's gonna hurt."

Cyr sighed and nodded, storming off to find something. Felix walked over to me and knelt down.

"Hey." He said nervously.

"Hey." I said smiling weakly. "Thanks for doing this-"

"Don't worry about it." Felix smiled. "Your boyfriend shouldn't have to do this."

"He's not my boyfriend!" I said.

"Yeah okay." Felix scoffed.

Cry returned carrying a clean rag and sat down next to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and held onto me and I bit down on the rag.

"You ready?" Felix asked nervously.

I nodded and closed my eyes. Then the pain started. I felt Cry's arms tighten around me as I struggled. I felt the knife dig in as Felix searched for the bug within me. I gripped onto Cry, digging in my nails out of the excruciating pain. My screams of pain were muffled due to the rag in my mouth and I was thankful for it. The pain became to much and I felt myself blacken out.

She woke up and found the darkness around her shaking and crumbling. Suddenly, Virus rushed towards her and grabbed her by the throat.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" He screamed into her face, glitching uncontrollably.

"I'm getting rid of you!" She shouted pushing him off of her.

"YOU CAN NEVER GET RID OF ME!" He shouted.

"I can! I will! And I am!" She shouted and threw a punch at him.

She missed as he glitched out. He appeared behind her and slapped her hard. She grunted as she fell to the found and rolled up in a ball to protect herself for, the kicks he was attempting to hurt her with. She rolled away and jumped up.

"This is my mind!" She shouted at him. "I control it!"

"No you don't!" He screamed at her. "It shall be mine!"

"GET OUT!" She shouted and slapped him and he dissolved into pixels.

She stood there panting and watched at the darkness around her began to cave in; cracking and flailing and letting in the light. She smiled as the light returned and she was in control of her mind again. She closed her eyes and felt herself begin to fall but she wasn't... She was flying.

I slowly opened my eyes and just used them to looked around. We was still in the small building I had woken up in earlier, before Felix attempted to get rid of the bug. Talking of Felix, I saw him lying down on the ground near the low, crackling fire asleep. I moved my head a little and realised there was someone beneath me. Cry. I had my head resting in Cry's lap.

"Hey." Cry said, looking straight ahead and not at me.

"Hey... The bug...?" I asked.

"Gone. We got it out." Cry said simply, his mouth was pulled into a straight line.

"Cry, are you okay?" I asked and tried to sit up and gasped a little bit.

"Don't move." He pleaded. "Please just rest."

I ignored him and sat up anyway. He sighed.

"Bree..." He said annoyed. "Please..."

"Cry, what's wrong?" I asked.

"I'm a coward!" He said. "I couldn't help you! Felix had to do it!"

"You are not a coward!" I said. "It just shows that you didn't want to hurt me and I didn't want you to do it in the first place."

"But still!"

"Cry, come on! It's fine!"

He still wouldn't look at me. I sighed and placed a hand on his cheek, just behind his mask and I made him look at me. Then I leant in and gave him a quick kiss and then I leant back, hand still on his cheek.

"We okay?" I asked.

"I don't know... I may need another kiss to find out?" He looked at me and smirked.

I rolled my eyes and leant in and our lips met once more. I smiled at him as we broke apart.

"Yeah, we're cool." He smirked and I laughed.

I curled up next to him wincing a little but I felt better once he wrapped his arm around me, making sure to not touch my wound.

"Did you know what you was doing when the bug was in control?" Cry asked.

"A little. It was like I was split into two. The 'darker' side of me seemed to turn into a bad thought or a nightmare I had once had." I said.

"What did it turn into?"

"...you."

"Me?!" I saw Cry looked down at me confused.

"Well, One of your alter egos; Virus. Once I had a nightmare with you turning into him... I'd had a little to drink that night but every time the bug took over, I would live in a little dream fantasy and then he would appear. It was weird... But it scared me..." I said.

"But you're safe now." Cry said and kissed my forehead. "You said you had dreams? Do you want to talk about those instead?"

"There was one where I was in Disneyland in Florida with Jamie and Ellie. Everything was so normal and happy, then I remember bumping into someone. I apologised and he said it was okay and just walked off. One of his friends called after him and he answered by saying 'Im coming Russ' and he had a green hoodie on." I said.

"Me?"

"Yeah..."

"Wow, I sound like a bit of a dick."

I laughed and rested my head in his chest. "Yeah a little, but you was better in the second dream."

"Was I? How?"

"Well, I woke up to the smell of dinner burning so I had to throw it away but then you was at the door with a bottle of wine. I told you that we most likely had to improvise so we had fun while making a home made pizza and dancing to GORILLAZ. Then we watched a movie and it was just... Perfect." I smiled.

"Was the pizza good?" Cry asked and I lightly hit his arm.

"Trust a man to not think about the food!" I joked and then I yawned.

"Get some sleep Bree, were heading back tomorrow." Cry said.

"Okay." I said and closed my eyes, slowly drifting off.
