*THIS CHAPTER HAS BEEN UPDATED*

It felt as if my entire body was doused in gasoline and set on fire. The pain was so intense, I could barely scream. But as soon as it started, it was over. Edwards normally cool skin felt ice cold to my overheated body. I was whimpering like a wounded puppy when Edward spoke.

"Bella, maybe we'll try your bath again later. I do wish you'd start listening to what I say however." Edward didn't bother to dry me off, he just laid me down in bed. The texture of the bed sheet hurt rubbing against my skin, and I unsuccessfully tried to stifle a cry. "Darling, are you okay?" Is he serious? Did he really want an answer to that? I looked into his eyes and saw a look of impatience.

I sniffed out a quiet answer of "yes", and lied down on the pillow.

"Don't worry darling, you will not have any serious burns. You will be good as new soon enough. Now, rest here love while I make you breakfast." Edward kissed my forehead and left out the bedroom.

I am so confused right now I feel like I have whiplash from my overactive brain. I needed to process what Edward and Carlisle said. Apparently, Edward suffered from mental illnesses as a human but he was able to suppress these characteristics for over a century. My goodness, what other things was he able to hide? He also said Alice would be leaving the family soon but what does that mean? Would she be joining us? Is Alice in cahoots with Edward and did she know beforehand how he would start behaving? Please, let Alice be in the dark about this whole situation. She's my best friend besides Jake and I don't think I could take the betrayal. And then there's what Edward said about Jake. I feel guilty even knowing my feelings for Jake but for either one of them to know is downright horrifying! I thought Edward accepted the fact that I put the whole Jacob thing behind us. I'm his wife now!

I was brought out of my thoughts when I felt a weight join me on the bed. I looked over at Edward and I saw the tray of food he brought with him. It was a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast and cut up strawberries. It was a nice gesture, but I was wary of him.

"Here you go darling. Sit up." I slowly sat up and slid back until my back was against the headboard. "Open up, love.." he murmured gently. I sniffed and licked my lips.

"You want to feed me?" He nodded his head. I pulled the sheet up to cover my breasts and winced. "Could I have a t-shirt to put on, please?" He sat the tray of food on the nightstand and he went to retrieve my suitcase. I took a moment to look around the room. I had no clue where we were, and the thought scared me. I noticed the walls were bare of pictures. The room was all white, and it had a very impersonal feel about it.

Edward came back in carrying a blue tank top and matching shorts that I had never seen before. "Where did that come from?"

"Your closet. Alice stocked it for you before we came," he said coming over to me. Hmm, so Alice knows where we are. I got off the bed and started to get dressed. "After you have your breakfast I'll give you a tour of the house." I sat back on the bed and covered the bottom half of my body with the sheet. "Now eat up."

I opened my mouth for the forkful of eggs Edward had ready. They tasted pretty good and I proceeded to eat my meal in silence until he spoke again.

"Bella, I feel it'll be best if I tell you my intentions." I didn't say anything so he continued speaking. "We will not be rejoining the family."

"But why? And what did you mean about Alice leaving also?"

"Its simply time for us to move forward, without them constantly hovering. As for Alice, well she can tell you herself when she gets here."

"If she knows where we are how are you sure she won't tell the family?" Oh, maybe that's apart of her plan! She'll lead the family here and they'll be able to help Edward!

"Alice will not tell them where we are. This is how it was always meant to be. This is how Alice saw the first vision years ago.. just you, me, her and Jasper." Well, maybe she'll lead Carlisle here. Sure enough my frantic phone call would have changed her mind. Edward continued on interrupting through my mental musings. "As for your father and your pack of dogs, they will be alerted of your death soon enough."
