Short Story #5: Scarlet and Lloyd in High School Part 3

"What about Lloyd...?" Scarlet asked, pulling her damp hair in a ponytail. "Did he hurt himself in football or something?"
"No...no, nothing like that..." Marceline looked around the room and saw it was emptying out. "It's just...I heard Lloyd and Tony talking yesterday and...Lloyd freaked out."
"How so?"
"He was saying he loved you and how he didn't want to rush you or something." she rubbed the back of her neck. "And when I asked Tony..." Marceline sighed. "Tony told me a few months ago that he saw Lloyd and you kissing and stuff, it's fine but..." she trailed off.

Scarlet shrugged. "No, I'm sure you mistook it..."
"I'm sure-"
"Marceline, it's fine!" she snapped, slamming her locker. The girl picked up her things and practically ran. She ran out the room and turned the corner, sprinting out the front doors of the school and heading for her car.
She crashed into Lloyd who was walking past. "Whoa...Hey," he caught her from falling. "why are you in such a hurry? You're still in your gym shirt."

"Lloyd, how long?" she asked, shoving him back into her car. "How long have you been doing that CREEPY stuff to me in my sleep?!"

He completely froze. "What...?" 'She knows...?'
"Last time I was awake, and I know there's been more than just that one time. What exactly have you done besides kiss me?"
"I-"
"Did you touch me?" when he didn't answer she shoved him again. "Did you touch me?! Answer me!"
"NO!"
There was a long silence. "Why?" she asked, cooling down slightly.

Lloyd sighed. "That was the only way I could tell you, even if you didn't hear it..."
"Was it necessary?! You couldn't just tell me?"
"No...You didn't seem to think we could be more than friends."

Scarlet almost laughed. "Well...Telling me would've been easier, we could've been dating by now."
He looked up. "So you would've said yes...?"
"Been waitin' for a while." she shrugged. She opened her arms and he gave her a hug. She drew her head back and looked at him. He kissed her lips and for the first time he felt her kiss back.

A/N: That's pretty much all the ninja in high school, I don't think I'll do Nya and Jay...But if enough people beg me I might.
