Chapter 24

We arrived at the Host Club room, where Kasanoda was panting heavily, leaning against the door and looked like he had just seen a ghost. He had just come up to check on Haruhi and probably saw everything.

The twins walked over to him and shouted with evil glints in their eyes "Peeping Tom!"

Kasanoda screamed and was shaking like a mad man. Hikaru began "You saw."

"Didn't you, Bossanova?" Kaoru finished.

Kasanoda, obviously trying to prove his innocence, quickly spoke "No! I didn't see! I mean, I kind of glanced, yeah, but it was all so fast! I didn't! It was just an accident! I swear to you that I'm not a pervert!"

Hunny went up to him with his scary, mature face and said "Of course, you would say that sure sign of a guilty conscience."

Kasanoda looked at Hunny in fear, shocked that the cutest guy in the room is the scariest, and then asked "So then Fujioka is a girl?"

Hikaru turned to his brother and stated "Red alert! He's onto Haruhi's little secret."

Kaoru shook his head "That's not good."

They turned back to Kasanoda and Hikaru asked "So, let's hear it."

"How much of her maidenly terra incognita did you actually see?"

Kaoru finished. Kasanoda hung his head, to hide any signs of embarrassment, and mumbled "Well, she was changing, so I saw her underwear."

The twins screamed at the top of their lungs "You saw Haruhi's underwear?!"

Kaoru scowled "So what do we do?"

Hikaru suggested "There's only one thing to do. We have to induce amnesia. Hold him."

Kaoru held Kasanoda while Hikaru held a bat which he got from...the air I presume...and was getting ready to hit him. These guys are such drama queens! Kasanoda isn't a pervert at all.

Kyoya then raised his hand and said to the twins "That's enough, you two. Leave assault and battery to the professionals."

Kaoru looked at Kyoya in shock "What are you? Made of ice? How can you be so calm about this?"

Hikaru pointed his bat at Tamaki and shouted "Look! The boss is so deep in shock, he's regressing!"

Tamaki was leaning against the wall, pure white and with the face of pure shock. Well this is new...even for Tamaki.

Kyoya then began talking to Kasanoda "Well, now that it appears the proverbial cat is out of the bag, let's talk. Haruhi is compelled to hide the fact that she is a girl due to certain mitigating circumstances. Well, we can't physically force you to cooperate exactly.

There is something I would like you to bear in mind. Coming from the sort of family you do, I'm certain you hear all sorts of juicy little rumors, enough to know what is true and what is not. Take the Otori family's private police force, the Black Onion Squad. It is said that they can be mobilized against our enemies in the blink of eye. You have heard of them, right?"

Ooooooo he sounded sooooo sexy while saying that.

Just then Haruhi came out of the room, now free of paint and said "Come on, guys. Stop scaring, Kasanova. Sorry about all this."

Kasanoda turned to Hauhi "Hey, Fujioka."

Haruhi shrugged "Look, it's all right. It doesn't really matter to me. You can tell whoever you want to."

Hikaru raised his eyebrow "Well well, Bossanova."

"Since you know she is a girl, are you in love?" Kaoru finished.

Kasanoda blushed deeply, from not only seeing Haruhi but to also what the twins just said. I stepped in and said "Come on you guys lay off of him. It's not like he did it on purpose, he didn't know Haruhi was a girl so lay off a bit. Besides he's just being nice to her that's all."

I dragged Kasanoda out of the club room as he sighed in relief "Thanks Maria, I thought I was a goner."

I smiled "Just to let you know...I know you like Haruhi."

He looked at me in shock and blushed, I giggled "Don't worry, I'm not gonna say anything to the others. But, just to warn you. If Haruhi doesn't return your feelings, don't be too surprised. She's not the type to think about romantic relationships."

I left him there and went back into the Host Club, to do my daily chores and helping the Hosts run their club.

The next day, Kasanoda came into the Host Club again. Many girls whispered around him "It's Kasanoda, from Class D."

"I heard he made himself Mori's apprentice."

"I wonder if that means he's training to be a Host too?"

Kasanoda merely sat down and requested "I'd like to request Fujioka."

The girls squealed in excitement "What is this?"

"Is he for real?!"

Oh God I know what's coming next... Right on queue Renge appears on her platform and cackles "The genuine article, at long last!"

Oh dear Lord kill me now!

Watching from a distance I saw Haruhi sitting next to Kasanoda, who was obviously nervous around her. They chatted for a little bit and got along really well. Unfortunately, certain people didn't like it at all.

The twins turned to Kyoya and Kaoru moaned "Hey, don't just stand there Kyoya senpai! Get him out of here!"

Hikaru continued "If he's getting along with his goons so well now, why does he need to be here in the first place?!"

Kyoya, who was writing in his black book, stated "He has kept Haruhi's secret so far and since he is after all a paying guest, I can see no reason to reject him."

The twins growled "But the other guests are afraid!"

Kyoya shook his head, "Oh no, I think not. Observe."

The room was covered in sparkles and flowers and girls dazzling at the sight of Haruhi and Kasanoda. "The look on his face is just priceless."

"I've never seen someone so in love before."

Renge quickly got on her phone and said "Hello Sumire? Forget about your stupid violin lesson and hightail it to the Host Club! I'm telling you. This is a one in a million chance to witness something truly amazing!"

Many other girls started calling all of their friends and Kyoya smirked "See? We're just fine. Thanks to him we may even set a new record."

The twins shook their fists at Kyoya "You, money grubbing enabler!"

The twins continued watching from afar and noticed something "Oh no, she's giving him the adorable smile!" Hikaru began.

"The one which no man can resist." Kaoru finished.

Hunny went up to the twins and smiled "Wow, usually you guys wouldn't waste any time interrupting the two of them."

I nodded in agreement "Yeah what's stopping you guys now?"

Hikaru explained "Yeah, but our hands are tied after our screw up in Karuizawa. Haruhi would never forgive us if we butted in."

Kaoru turned to his brother and quickly corrected "Karuizawa was really your screw up, Hikaru."

Hikaru frowned and turned to Tamaki, who was still in shock, "Hey Boss, are you done being shell-shocked yet?"

Kaoru nodded "Yeah, we could really use our King right about now."

They both grabbed Tamaki and threw him over to where Haruhi was "Go get'em!"

Tamaki got up...but was in robot mode from the shock of it all. He attempted to sit in between Haruhi and Kasanoda but she pushed him away. "Tamaki senpai? Um, just what exactly are you doing? Hey, if you want to sit down, do it over there. You can play with this if you need a distraction. It's a little freebie I got at the supermarket when I bought the instant coffee earlier."

Tamaki played with the puzzle until he solved it, he stiffly turned to Haruhi and said in a monotone voice "Look, I've solved it, Haruhi."

Haruhi smiled "Wow, that was fast. Okay now, try to see if you can put them back together."

Hikaru and Kaoru frowned "That moron..."

Hikaru got his phone out and called Tamaki "Earth to Boss! Will you snap out of it already?! The longer you sit there like an idiot playing robot, the worse the situation becomes for all of us!"

Umm...don't you mean for you three?

Hikaru continued in harsh whispers "Now listen to me carefully! You can't let this happen! If she and that two-bit thug hit it off, she's going to spend her life as a mob wife!" Oh no...I know where this is going...

Tamaki stood up and shouted "Daddy won't stand for that!"

Please don't do this.

Tamaki pulled Kasanoda by his shirt and shouted "Bossanova! Just what do you think you're trying to do here?! You've established a bond with your henchmen didn't you?! Why aren't you with them right now?!"

Hikaru cheered "You tell him, sir!"

Kaoru fist bumped the air, "Yeah!"

Tamaki spun Kasanoda around and pointed at him, still shouting, "What about Kick the Can?! You remember that?! You shoud be out there enjoying life to the fullest with your friends while you're still young enough to appreciate it, before it all slips away right under your nose! Why are you harassing my Haruhi?! As her father, I forbid you to see her!"

Kasanoda was sweating a little bit when he suddenly said "Wait. What? You're telling me that you're Fujioka's dad? You've gotta be kidding me. That's just not possible."

Hikaru's eyes widened "Oh no."

"He's painted the Boss into a corner." Kaoru finished.

Tamaki sweated a bit and his voice mumbled "Well, we might not be related by blood."

Kasanoda asked "Okay, so what? Are you married to her Mom, then?"

Tamaki pulled his hand away and said "No, as a matter of fact, I've never met the woman."

Kasanoda then bluntly stated "So I guess you really aren't her father, are you?" Ooooo that's gonna leave a mark.

Tamaki then blew up like a balloon, turned pale again and started flying around the room. Hunny ran to him "Wah! Tama-chan! I'll catch you!"

He caught him and Tamaki mumbled "He's right. You know, strictly speaking, I'm not Haruhi's real father."

The twins raised their eyebrows "Uh, strictly speaking or otherwise."

Tamaki turned even paler and passed out. I turned to the twins "Gee that helped didn't it?"

They merely shrugged and we all ran over to Tamaki, who very quickly woke up. "Hey look! He's waking up!"Koaru pointed out.

Tamaki stared off into space and spoke to himself "I need to sort this out."

I asked "Sort what out exactly?"

He replied "If, supposing I'm not my Haruhi's daddy after all..."

Hikaru corrected "We don't have to suppose it, boss."

Tamaki still continued "Then, how can it be that I find her so utterly adorable?"

We all looked at him in shock as Kaoru asked "Ah, what are you talking about?"

Tamaki's eyes widened and he stated "When she's with another man, why is it that I become so insanely jealous? I'm not her father, I have no right to be so protective, no right whatsoever."

Hikaru raised his eyebrow "So then uh, tell me what exactly is with the whole making Haruhi your wife one day thing?"

Tamaki turned to him "I know! Daddies don't typically wanna marry their little girls when they're all grown up, do they?"

Koaru also raised his eyebrow "What about keeping her from kissing anyone?"

Tamaki shrunk back a little "I only wanted to preserve those precious lips."

Koaru's eye twitched "Preserve, really? That's a very interesting choice of words, sir. You think everything is absolutely perfect just the way it is now and having this family setting will keep it all from changing, right?"

Hikaru looked at his twin "Hey, Kaoru."

Tamaki looked at him confused "I don't understand."

Kaoru looked totally shocked and Kyoya stated "Naturally he's got a point. I mean you're delusional, yes. Any half-wit could see that but who knew that you were so..."

He stopped and Hunny giggled "Tama-chan is completely blind when it comes to himself."

Hikaru turned back to his twin and asked "Kaoru, just what did you mean by things changing?"

Kaoru gritted between his teeth "Oh, nothing. Just a little theory I have which I'm probably completely wrong about."

Although Kasanodo and Haruhi were watching I didn't get what they were saying. However, I did hear Haruhi say "Although when I think about it, Tamaki senpai is like my dad in some ways."

Tamaki quickly sat up after hearing that and chuckled "Did you hear that gentlemen? Apparently in some ways, I am like Haruhi's father."

Kyoya corrected "Well, to be more precise, I think what she's saying is that you and her father do share some personality traits, in actuality..."

But Tamaki started welling tears of joy and stood up "I've got it! I've got it now! I'm like a father to her!"

Kyoya shook his head "And we've lost him yet again."

I chuckled "It was the inevitable Kyoya, Tamaki will always be Tamaki."

Kasanoda then nervously asked Haruhi "Fujioka, do you think that we can maybe do this more often? Because I was just thinking since you entertain girls all day long, it might kind of give you a break from all that. You know, if I came around. I mean if, if you want that, that is..."

Haruhi stared at him for a bit then smiled "Absolutely! That way you and I can get more acquainted!"

Renge shouted from her stadium "Here it comes!"

Everyone watched in anticipation as Kasonoda attempted to confess, the tension building with every breath. "Fujioka, I... I, uh, have something to say! I just wanted to tell you. I just wanted to tell you... that I'm..."

Haruhi smiled and stood up "That you're excited to have someone you can relate to, aren't you? I know I sure am. A conversation like this is a rare thing for me. We're going to be great friends."

Ooooooo the friend-zone...

Renge frowned "Uh oh, hung out to dry."

The girls started to cry "He's totally just got shot down."

"He didn't even get a chance to confess his love."

"Ew, friend thing. That was really sting."

"I bet that rejection haunts for the rest of his life."

"Ah, that poor guy."

"It's so tragic."

Kasanoda, however, still smiled and blushed "Of course, the two of us are gonna be friends! Best of friends! Forever!"

Now by this point the twins, Hunny, Renge and all the girls were crying at the sight. The twins and Hunny cried "Bossanova!"

The girls cried "Kasanoda!"

Renge wiped away her tears and squealed "Kasanova! How lovely! That was absolutely beautiful!"

All of the girls ran over to them and they all squealed "You moved us to tears."

"We'll be your friend!"

"That was breathtaking!"

"Do it again!"

Hikaru cried "We wanna be friends of you, too, Bossanova!"

Kaoru held up a can and cried "Let's play kick the can!" Funny because I remember you two wanting to get rid of him...

Hunny held Usa-chan and shoved it in Kasanoda's face "I know I'm your senpai, but I'll still be your friend! You can even borrow Usa-chan!"

Renge started to disappear and stated "I will include a special on you in Moe Moe Ouran Diaries Volume 11! Adieu, brave one!"

What is wrong with everyone in this school?!

Kyoya looked down at Tamaki, who was staring at the scene, and asked "What's the matter, Tamaki?"

Tamaki replied "When I think about how Bossanova must have been feeling, my heart goes out to him a little."

Kyoya smirked "That's strange, isn't it? I mean as Haruhi's father, you shouldn't feel sympathy for the man who was trying to take your precious little girl away now, should you?"

Tamaki didn't reply as I went over to Kasanoda and he came over to me, I smiled "I told you this would happen."

He smiled "I guess you're right. But I would have felt worse if it wasn't for you, thank you."

I patted him on the head and smiled "I am so proud of you Kasanoda. Now how about we all go play kick the can?!"

Everyone cheered and went to the courtyard, where Tamaki was the first to kick "Hyper starlight kick!"

Everyone then scrambled away and Kasanoda started counting. Kyoya came next to me and smiled "Lets go, otherwise we'll get caught. And I'm not fond of losing."

I chuckled and followed him where we found the twins and we all went to the gazebo. Tamaki and Haruhi were in there and Tamaki said "Hey, what are you doing? This hiding place is only for Haruhi and me! Got it!"

Kaoru asked "What kind of rule is that?"

Hikaru added "Yeah! And for that matter, why do you and Haruhi always have to hide together in the first place?"

Tamaki shouted "Idiot! It is perfectly natural for a father to hide with his daughter!"

Kyoya quickly added "Some might disagree."

Haruhi shushed "Shh! Would all of you just be quiet?!"

I rolled my eyes "Screw it make some room under there!"

We all squeezed under the table and Kyoya asked "Well, for starters, why even kick the can?"

I was going to answer when Haruhi shouted "Hey, stop pushing so hard!"

Tamaki growled "Get your hands off my Haruhi!"

The twins stated "She doesn't belong to you!"

Tamaki scoffed "Oh yeah?! It's not me, then who?!"

Haruhi frowned "I do not belong to anybody!" This day has been so weird, full of flowers, sparkles and all things girly. But Kasanoda finally has a chance to be a kid again, so I wouldn't change one bit of it.

A/N: Ta da! I know there's not a lot of romance with Maria and Kyoya but this episode focused on Tamaki, Kasanoda and Haruhi so I kept it that way. But do not worry my pets, you will LOVE the next chapter :P Anyway thank you for reading and please review!
