Chapter 25

Another day at the Host Club and it was a Wednesday...but todays cosplay was not as far fetched as any other day. Today Tamaki had decided to bring out all the kotatsu tables out as winter was fast approaching, so we could all snuggle up under a kotatsu table while drinking green tea. Only problem was...we had no cups for the occasion and Tamaki was having a heart attack.

"Oh no, everything is going all wrong! My title as the club's leader will go down the drain!"

I rolled my eyes "You have plenty of tea cups, just use some of them."

The twins shook their heads as Hikaru began "It doesn't work out like that. For each event we have different cups to match."

Kaoru continued "If we don't have even the right cups for the occasion then our guests won't believe we are putting in a lot of effort."

Tamaki cried to Kyoya "Mama! What are we going to do?! The Host club will be ruined!"

Kyoya sighed and shifted his glasses "There's no need to worry, I've already placed orders for new tea cups."

Tamaki looked at him for a second and jumped up into the air in excitement "Yaaay Kyoya! You're a lifesaver Kyoya!"

I chuckled "My, my always one step ahead aren't you Kyoya?"

Kyoya smirked "Naturally, someone has to keep everything in order."

The twins then asked "So when are they arriving?"

Kyoya looked at his watch "Oh any time now."

Then at that very moment there was a knock at the door and it opened to reveal someone carrying a huge box "Did someone order tea cups?"

I know that voice...

Kyoya walked over to the boy and said "Yes, just place them on that table there please."

The boy put the box down and took out a clipboard "If you can sign here please."

I then looked at the boys face and froze on the spot "Genji?"

The boy looked over at me and I got a proper look at the familiar face, the handsome face with piercing green eyes and jet black hair. His body was well toned and he was quite tall, around the same height as Kyoya.

Genji looked at me and gasped "Maria? Is that you?"

I smiled "It is! Genji!"

We ran to each other and hugged each other and he asked me "Oh my how are you? It's been so long!"

I nodded "I'm doing well thank you! You've grown so much!"

Just then I heard a cough behind me, I turned around to see all of the guys looking at us in confusion. I smiled "Let me introduce you! Genji these are my friends Tamaki, Kyoya, Hunny, Mori, Hikaru and Kaoru. Oh and you remember Haruhi right?"

Genji looked at Haruhi and smiled brightly "Oh yes Haruhi! Last time I saw you, you were a girl weren't you?"

Haruhi chuckled "It's a long story. It's good to see you."

Tamaki asked, in a protective manner, "So how do you know each other?"

I replied "We all went to middle school together, we were best friends. Heck we still are right?"

Genji nodded in agreement "How could I forget that cute little face of yours?"

He ruffled my hair and I poked my tongue out at him "Shush you, just because you're bigger than me doesn't mean you can tease me."

However, a tap on the shoulder interrupted us and I turned to see Kyoya staring at me "Sorry to ruin the reunion but we have work to do."

I rolled my eyes and Genji chuckled "No problem, I have another package to deliver anyway. But Maria and Haruhi, why don't we meet up sometime and catch up?"

I nodded "That would be great! How about Saturday?"

Haruhi and Genji nodded, we said our goodbyes and he went off to his next delivery. The twins looked at me in suspicion "You two seem awfully close."

I nodded "Well yeah, he's a great friend. I think you would all love him!"

Hunny smiled "I think he seems nice! Does he like cake?"

I chuckled "He loves cake! Just like you Hunny-senpai."

Hunny smiled brightly "I like him already!"

Tamaki stood in front of me with a frown on his face "He seemed far too open to me! I don't like him being around my Haruhi and Maria!"

He grabbed the both of us and hugged us tightly, but Haruhi sighed "Senpai, he has been a dear friend to us he won't do anything."

Tamaki gasped and went to his emo corner, sobbing and growing mushrooms. I shrugged and clasped my hands together "Well, now we should focus on the Host Club!"

I skipped along, in a very good mood as I helped set everything up.

3rd Person POV

Saturday quickly arrived; Haruhi and Maria walked into town as they quickly noticed their friend Genji waiting on a bench. Maria waved "Hey Genji! Sorry we're late."

Genji stood up and smiled "Not a problem, I just got here myself."

But he was not the only one that had just arrived; in a nearby cafe the Host Club, especially Tamaki and the twins, watched in annoyance as the girls talked with their long term friend. Tamaki stomped his feet "It's not fair! I should be with Haruhi! Daddy doesn't like it!"

Kaoru added "Oh yeah? What about Maria? Look at him being all flirty with her! It's grossing me out!"

Hunny dangled his feet off the chair and asked "Why can't we let them hang out? He seems like a good boy."

Mori nodded "Yeah."

But Tamaki yelled "You're too innocent to understand Hunny! My poor girls are gonna get harrassed by this boy!"

Hunny sighed and looked over at Kyoya, who had remained unusually quite throughout the ordeal "Hey Kyo-chan are you ok?"

Kyoya spoke in the usual, cool tone, "I'm just fine, thank you."

But he was far from fine. He was gritting his teeth, he felt like he was going to snap his pen in half and he just wanted to go out there and punch the guy in the face. He had never felt this way before, not since he first met Tamaki. However, he knew he couldn't react as it could ruin his father's image.

Hikaru quickly stated "Hey, they're going! Let's go!"

Back with the 3 friends Haruhi laughed "Genji you have some ice cream on your nose."

Genji tried to look down at his nose and laughed "So I have!"

He wiped it off and Maria laughed "You always were a messy eater. Even back in Middle School you ruined your uniform every time you ate."

"Hey I'm not that bad...am I?"

The three friends laughed, but that only annoyed Tamaki more. "What's so funny? What if they're talking about me?! I couldn't deal with that heartache!"

Kyoya sighed "Moron. Who's idea was this again?"

The twins pointed "The boss, who else?"

Tamaki quickly gasped "They're on the move again!"

Everyone quickly followed suit when suddenly Maria looked behind, she didn't see them but she said "Hey...do you get the sense we're being followed?"

Genji looked around and shook his head "Nope, can't say I do. But hey if we are being followed I'll teach them a lesson."

He cracked his knuckles jokingly and Maria laughed "Oh wow, my strong man to the rescue."

The three friends laughed, but that only made Tamaki and the twins shiver "Man he could really beat us up." Hikaru stated.

Kaoru added "Yeah, we could end up in the hospital, maybe he does boxing or something?"

Tamaki gasped "What if he's the abusive type?! My poor princesses would have no chance against him!"

Kyoya once again sighed "Moron..."

A few hours passed and the routine of the Host club following the trio all day until they decided to go home. Haruhi and Maria walked past the Host club, without even knowing and Tamaki sighed in relief "Phew! They weren't hurt...but I should have been with Haruhi it's not fair!"

Kyoya grabbed Tamaki and dragged him away "We're going home, come on you're making a scene." Each member got into Tamaki's limo and drove home.

Haruhi and Maria were talking about Genji on the way home and how nice it was to see him again. Haruhi suddenly asked "Hey Maria...do you think Genji likes you more than me?"

She shook her head "No! There is no way in hell he could. Why?"

Haruhi shrugged "I dunno, he seemed closer to you than he did to me today."

"Of course he likes you Haruhi, but we have known each other longer, remember I introduced you two to each other."

"Yeah I guess so." Haruhi shrugged and they idly chatted until Haruhi arrived home. Maria quickly got herself home and did her chores, such as bathing her mother, dressing her, giving her medication and getting her into bed. Maria then did her homework until 11pm and went straight to sleep in her bed.

Over the course of the next few days the Host club would often get the company of Genji, who was even more flirtatious and open than they thought. He would always hug Maria and Haruhi, even kiss Maria on the cheek! The Host club were starting to really dislike the guy, they had suspicions of him and they all thought the same thing.

"Do you think Genji likes Maria?" Tamaki asked his friends.

The twins nodded "Definitley! No doubt about it."

Hunny frowned "If he does, then does Mari-chan like him back?"

Kyoya clenched his fists and coolly replied "Who knows, she does seem happy to see him though."

Haruhi sighed "You guys are over thinking things, they are just good friends."

Just then the very two people they were speaking of entered the room. Maria looked at her friends and smiled "Ah hey guys! You do know we closed a while ago right?"

Hikaru replied "Of course. We're just talking."

Kaoru added "Why are you here?"

Maria asked "Oh, well can me and Genji borrow this room for a little while? We have to..."

But before she could explain Haruhi and pushed everyone out of the door "No problem! See you!"

The door shut quickly and Maria shrugged "They're a strange bunch."

But what she didn't know was that Haruhi was gagged with a cloth while everyone watch the two interact with each other. Although Kyoya pretended not to be interested, he couldn't help but watch carefully as Genji got awfully close to Maria...almost too close.

Tamaki whispered "What does he think he's doing to my angel?! Daddy doesn't approve!"

Kaoru suddenly exclaimed in hushed tones "Guys look!"

Everyone looked through the creak in the door and found Maria pinned down onto the sofa, which a look of fear on her face and a look of victory on Genji's. He loomed over Maria, like an animal with it's prey; taunting it and teasing it until he got really close to her face. They couldn't sit there any longer and charged in to save their friend.

Normal P.O.V

I heard the slamming of the door opening and looked behind me to find the guys charging at Genji. Tamaki used is special kick to kick him away from me, the twins pushed the guy against the wall and held him there firmly, with a look to kill in their eyes. Tamaki growled at Genji while Mori and Hunny got ready to beat him to a pulp. Kyoya watched, almost amused in a sickly way as their fists were raised.

I yelled "Leave him alone!"

Everyone stared at me in shock, when Hikaru began "Why should we?!"

"He was about to assult you!" Kaoru finished.

Tamaki added "This jerk needs to pay for what he's done!"

Kyoya walked over to Genji and raised his fist "No one messes with the Ouran Host club, this will be your only warning."

I ran over to the guys and stood in front of Genji, with anger on my face "What the hell are you talking about?! He wasn't trying to assault me!"

Hunny tilted his head and lowered his fist "He wasn't?"

I shook my head "No, in case you idiots didn't notice we had scripts in our hands. He is starring in a new play and wanted me to help him with rehearsal."

All of the boys just stared at me, with absolute shock written on their face and they all let Genji go immediately. Genji coughed and slowly got up, leaning on me for support. No one said anything for a bit, not until Tamaki asked "Wait...I thought you two liked each other?"

Genji and I looked at each other, then burst out laughing "HAHAHAHAHA! Y-you really thought we were in love?! This is too much!"

We both said together and wiped tears from our eyes. I turned to Genji and asked "Can I tell them?"

He nodded and I turned back to the guys "Look, there is no way in hell Genji would ever like me. The reason for that is because...he's gay."

If they weren't already in shock then they were now. All of they're jaws dropped to the floor, even Kyoya was surprised and they all bowed their heads to Genji "We're sorry!"

Genji chuckled "Hey no big deal! Everyone thinks we're together all the time. Also I'm not, what you call, a 'stereotypical gay' so no one believes me when I tell them I'm gay."

Hunny cried in my legs "Waaah! I'm sorry Mari-chan please forgive me!"

I smiled gently "Of course I forgive you guys. To be honest I would have done the same thing if I saw what you guys saw."

Haruhi then hopped in, tied up and gagged and tried to speak. I rolled my eyes and untied her "Geez you guys are crazy."

Haruhi then repeated "I told you guys you were over thinking things!"

Kyoya coughed, to get my attention, and asked "So if both of you knew...why didn't you tell us sooner?"

"It wasn't our place to say. Only Genji can tell us if he wants people to know or not." I replied.

Genji chuckled "Besides, I already have a crush on someone."

Tamaki asked "Oh yeah? Who?"

Genji turned to Kyoya and smirked "Kyoya of course!"

Kyoya went wide-eyed and asked "I'm sorry?"

Genji smiled "You're cool and mysterious personality is so hot! You're totally my type!"

Haruhi patted his shoulder "Sorry Genji...he's out of bounds."

Genji chuckled "I know, it's sad but I'll live on." He winked at me, knowing of my crush and I blushed a deep red. Genji quickly picked up his scripts and left us to go home.

Kyoya was still in shock and the twins mocked "Hahahahaha Kyoya has a boyfriend! Kyoya has a boyfriend!"

Kyoya turned to the twin, with a scary aura surrounding him and he asked "Care to repeat yourself you two?"

The twins cried and ran behind Haruhi for safety. Haruhi rolled her eyes "You guys are silly, I'm not gonna be able to do much."

Tamaki suddenly hugged me tightly "Oh I'm so glad everything is okay now! I knew it all along that he was a good guy!"

Hunny tilted his head "No you didn't, you thought badly of him from the start."

Everyone began chatting loudly, trying to prove their innocence, Kyoya was still in shock and I smiled to myself. These guys are idiots...but I wouldn't change them for the world.
