Chapter 24- The Akatsuki Discussion

Sunnora inspected the area as she saw her master's back retreat further and further down the long hallway. She wondered if all these men were related and smiled genuinely at the thought of having such a big and diverse family that were so comfortable around each other. They all seemed to really get along despite the mocking.

'I wish I was a part of this family', she thought and felt a little sad that everyone saw her as a stranger.

She wondered if this Kakuzu fellow that her master had been talking about was Hidan's brother.

'I want to meet everyone here and maybe then they won't look at me with such cautious eyes'. She cheered herself up and decided that when everyone came back to the large room she would introduce herself to make things a little less tense and hopefully everyone wouldn't be so upset with her master. She didn't want to think much of it but she really hoped that meeting that had been called wasn't about her. The last thing she wanted was for there to be a problem for her Hidan-sama because of her. If she hadn't been given the order to not move a muscle she would have gone into that room and explained everything to them but alas she couldn't, even the idea of collecting flowers for them was out of question as she was pretty sure she wouldn't be able to move that giant boulder by herself, just the thought of that moment had her in awe of her master even more.

'He sure is impressive, I want to be just as strong as he is'.

Hidan made his way to the meeting room as slow as humanly possible. If everyone was going to act like such huge jerks he was going to punish them by making them wait for him, 'heh…wait for me huh? I made them wait for me for months and with the reaction I got it was as if I had been gone for five minutes'.

Dragging his feet he glanced up as he stepped into the room. He was very surprised when no one yelled at him for taking his time, he was pretty sure he had taken at least twenty minutes to get to the room. Hidan awkwardly made his way to the empty chair and almost smiled at the thought that they hadn't gotten rid of his chair and always awaited his return. Looking up at the man at the end of the table he quickly guessed that no one wanted to act out in front of Pein and therefore didn't lash out at his tardiness.

"Welcome back Hidan", the deep serious voice of the orange haired leader occupied the otherwise silent room.

A smirk made its way to his handsome face and with a loud bang Hidan pounded his fist on the conference table. "That's right you bitches, that's how you're supposed to be greeted when you're gone for months".

Half the members rolled their eyes while the other half looked like they were about to pass out from boredom.

Deidara was the first to speak up after that outburst, "Hidan, I really hope you weren't expecting a party and some cake, who do you think we are? The boy scouts? Come on, we're a bunch of criminals".

Kisame smirked at the look on Hidan's face as the look said he probably had been expecting a cake, "yeah.. Dei-chan is right, we all thought you were dead okay, we find new members to replace the dead ones, and we don't go out and have a search party, that's how it has always been".

Hidan knew the Akatsuki wasn't going to take their precious time and go searching for him but he thought maybe they'd wait a while longer before looking for a new member.

Hidan felt depressed and angry all at the same time, "so you got a new member to replace me?"

Pein decided to leave this topic explained by him, "We were currently looking at possible candidates but I guess that is no longer necessary because you have returned, I will assign you a new mission tomorrow; we are currently very behind".

'I got back thirty minutes ago and I'm already being put down for missions….'

Zetsu poked his head out and looked straight at Hidan, "who is the girl?"

Black Zetsu chimed in right after, "we were the first to spot her; she looks yummy".

Kisame smirked and leaned back in his chair, "you know Zetsu, I think that's the first time I have ever agreed with you".

Hidan scowled and seemed to get a little angrier than usual at a comment like that.

Itachi sighed and decided to voice his opinion before Hidan jumped on the table and started beating Kisame's brains out. "Hidan you know the rules, it is one the very few we have here in the Akatsuki, we cannot bring outsiders anywhere near the base, especially let them come inside".

Sasori nodded at Itachi's comment saying he agreed, "The only reason I didn't instantly kill her was because of that pendant she wore, it looks a lot like the one you wore right?"

Deidara groaned and stretched himself all over the table like a child, "Ahh that's what it was, I knew it reminded me of something, shit…I hope she leaves soon, just by looking at that pendant I know she'll be a freak like you".

"That's not always a bad thing though", Kisame said in the creepiest cringe worthy voice imaginable.

Deidara rolled his eyes at the perverted comment.

Hidan felt like jumping from his seat and punching Kisame on that ugly smirk filled face. "Look", he said as he addressed Sasori, Itachi and Pein who seemed to be the only ones taking Sunnora's presence here seriously, "I know the rules Itachi, and yes she is wearing the Jashinist symbol but she means no harm, when I found her she didn't even remember her own name". Hidan didn't feel like adding the fact that this little girl he found had saved his life plenty of times now, he didn't want to feel emasculated in front of a bunch of men..and Kisame. "I feel that we should let her stay here, you were going to add another member anyways right? Why not her? She could help out with the missions, as my lackey of course and lessen the burden of the piled up work".

Pein seemed to actually be listening to his words while the rest looked at him like he had gone out of his mind.

"You're not serious right?" Deidara spoke up, "we are not letting that frail little girl into the Akatsuki you idiot".

Kisame laughed at Hidan for even saying all that with a straight face, "wow Hidan, you really are stupider than I thought you were, the only thing she would be good for would be cleaning the base and meeting my needs at night but Zetsu would probably eat her before she actually did anything useful".

"Hidan I also think this is a bad idea, I can read people very well with one glance and she seemed like the pure and innocent type, she is not suited to be here even if she is strong", Itachi said and that was the only comment that actually made him want to not let her join anymore.

Pein stood up and that was the universal signal that what he said next would be the final statement and everyone could leave right after.

"Hidan, I also agree with Itachi, I saw her before she walked into the base and I heard her words, this is a criminal organization and this is definitely no place for a girl like her, I will postpone your mission and I will allow you to take tomorrow to take her back to her home, I'm pretty sure you're both tired as I can sense little to no chakra from you and from her so you can sleep here tonight but I expect both of you to be out of base as soon as you've recovered your strength. That is all".

With that Pein walked out of the room and everyone got out of their chairs as soon as Pein disappeared from the door way.

Hidan didn't know why he felt such strong disappointment wash over him, if this was a year ago he couldn't care less about anything like members or the stupid rules the Akatsuki had, he was doing this for one thing, to kill. Yet now it felt so different, he pictured his life one week from now, he'd probably be assigned a new partner and carry on the missions like before, only this time Kakuzu wouldn't be there and most importantly the ditzy girl in black wouldn't be by his side anymore. She would be in her own village probably defending her home with the rest of the shinobi that were probably searching for her right this second, all the people that missed her desperately.

The sound of a loud booming noise startled Hidan from his thoughts and he immediately bolted from his chair.

Sunnora witnessed from across the large room two men approaching her. She noticed they both wore the same kind of cloak and it made her think of the one her master wore, only these weren't covered in holes and full of dirt and blood.

Kisame and Deidara walked towards the girl in black and were both thinking the same thing.

Deidara leaned into Kisame slightly and whispered, "She's a weird one isn't she?"

Kisame nodded and felt anyone of the Akatsuki would think it is weird that a young girl wouldn't be scared at all being in such a scary looking place with scary looking people. Yet here she was, just the opposite of what he would expect, but he kind of understood, she was hanging out with Hidan after all.

"Hey", Deidara was the first to speak up as they approached the gap in the large room and now stood about three feet apart from each other. Sunnora still kept a cheery smile on her face even though Deidara looked very menacing.

Sunnora was so happy that they had actually come to introduce themselves and greet her. If she hadn't been ordered to not move and inch by her Hidan-sama she would be jumping up and down with happiness.

"Hi, I am so happy to meet you, it is such a lovely place you have here" Sunnora was ecstatic to say the least.

Deidara scoffed and had the biggest smirk on his feminine face. "Are you stupid or what? This isn't our home, did that stupid Hidan tell you some weird story or something?" Sunnora looked a bit lost in what Deidara had just said but the blonde decided to push further, he was still angry at the little confrontation with Hidan earlier and he sensed he had grown some sort of attachment with this girl and whatever lies he used to get her here he would shatter to the point that she would leave their base crying and cursing Hidan to hell, and he was going to do all this by telling her the truth.

"You see…girl, we are a criminal organization specifically created to kill other people with special powers to take those powers for ourselves. We do what we want and everyone here in this place has killed enough to guarantee us a place in hell for eternity. I have no fucking clue what you're doing here and what kind of idea you have in your stupid head about who we are but it is all wrong and I'm pretty sure the only reason Hidan kept you around was because of that stupid pendant you have on, he has never met anyone of his idiotic religion before so I guess that's the only reason he made you follow along but don't think it's something special because I know Hidan a lot better than you and he's never been interested in crap like relationships and feelings, he's a freak that takes pleasure in killing and blood sacrifices and that is all…you're nothing special to him", Deidara felt proud of himself and the weight of all that frustration towards the silver haired male was now released into that statement, he just hoped she wouldn't start crying because then Sasori would make him apologize and he really wasn't good at that.

Kisame pushed Deidara away from in front of the girl and frowned, "Dei-chan, no need to be so mean to our lovely guest, she is obviously not here because she has some sort of attachment to Hidan, a pretty girl like her wouldn't be caught dead with a nutcase lunatic like Hidan", Kisame winked and held out his hand, "my name is Kisame, I really hope your name is as beautiful as you are".

Kisame kept his hand held out for a good ten seconds before he slowly brought it down, Deidara started laughing hysterically and crouched down to hold on to his stomach, "hahahah! Even she doesn't want to shake your hand! You really are brave girl I'll give you that, most girls just shake his hand then hide the rest of the day because they're all scared by those nasty teeth of his!"

The blue skinned man wasn't amused at all by the laughing bomb artist that was standing right next to him so he took out his sword and with a very skilled movement, "you really want to die don't you? You girly man".

Deidara raised an eyebrow at the challenge and scoffed, "you can't fool me Kisame, you're only acting all tough to impress this girl enough so she'll sleep with you". Deidara took out some clay and started playing around with it in his hands, "but if you want a fight I'll fight you, not because of her, but because I always hated your annoying ass".

"Deidara, Kisame, you two quit it", Sasori walked towards them with a look that dared them to continue. "Akatsuki rule number 7, no fighting in the main base".

Deidara and Kisame scoffed and put away their weapons, "You're lucky Sasori showed up, I'll get you next time you ugly looking girl".

"I'll kill you before then fish freak", Deidara smirked and suddenly threw one of his clay models directly towards Kisame.

Kisame wasn't expecting that but managed to dodge just in time as he leaped in the direction of Sasori and away from the girl in black, he looked back and saw as the clay model made contact with the girl's right arm and exploded.

"Oops, I missed" Deidara said in a tone that sounded like he was talking about the weather. The explosion had made a thick smoke form around them and Kisame began to cough as the smoke was the only thing he could intake.

"Deidara you broke the rule, you know what that means", Sasori chimed in as he stared down the blonde bomb practitioner.

"Yeah yeah….double the missions for two months…damn I really thought it would be worth it if I got that dumb fish freak even a little" Deidara was furious that he didn't even get Kisame at all but managed to blow up the new girl instead, now he knew he would not only have to have extra missions but clean the mess from his bomb and from the dead girl.

"Tch…bad aim as usual Dei-chan, too bad you blew her up before I could make her my personal servant". Kisame was really upset, he hadn't seen a girl that beautiful in a long time and he wasn't planning on letting her go before having her but now it was too late, he'd have to get back at the blonde idiot later.

Hidan ran into the large room and took in the confusing sight before him.

Deidara, Sasori and Kisame were all standing around in front of a thick smoke but Sasori seemed to be leaving, he wasn't too surprised because this happened regularly with Deidara blowing up pretty much everything all the time but he didn't like this situation one bit for the place that the smoke was being cascaded around was where he last saw his lackey.

He couldn't see her anywhere.

"Blonde freak, where is she!?" Hidan ran the rest of the way towards them and stood in front of the smoke just like them.

Deidara grinned and held out his arms to show some of his clay, "you mean your little girlfriend? She got blown up, wouldn't have happened if this fish freak hadn't dodged", he said as he glared daggers at Kisame.

Hidan couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"It's such a shame though, Hidan the only thing you have ever done right was bringing that girl here but oh well, I'll just have to find another girl, should be easy enough". Kisame looked at the smoke and noticed it was thinning out.

"WHAT THE FUCK?" Hidan couldn't seem to express himself and grabbed the collar of the blonde's cloak, he felt so angry that he was pretty sure all the blood was being sent to his head, his grip around the fabric tightening considerably every passing second.

Deidara for the first time in a long time actually felt threatened by the silver haired man, "geez, what is your damn problem? It was just some girl, this happens all the time, and it's usually you that does stuff like this, calm down; you're starting to freak me out with that face of yours".

Just as he was about to choke Deidara enough for his head to fall off he heard the sweet voice he had been hearing for days, "Hidan-sama is that you?"

Hidan jolted and his eyes left the blonde's face to turn towards the smoke, it had cleared enough and let his eyes adjust to the sight of the girl standing upright with a smile on her face.

Sunnora recognized her master and walked towards him, "welcome back".

Hidan threw Deidara aside wish a quick but strong shove that sent him flying across the room.

He made his way towards the girl and his eyes roamed across her body and face, searching for any signs of damage. He didn't see a thing and felt so relieved for some reason.

"What happened?" he asked.

Sunnora thought for a second before speaking, "well I'm not too sure actually, I was talking to Deidara and Kisame and then they seemed to get angry at each other, Sasori came to stop them but before I knew it I was surrounded in smoke".

Kisame walked towards them and grinned, "I am glad you're okay but I clearly saw that bomb make contact with your arm", he winked at her and touched her arm, letting his hand trail from her shoulder to her elbow.

Hidan frowned and slapped Kisame's hand away, before speaking again, "is that true?" he asked her.

"I think something did happen but I'm okay, really. No need to worry about me, and I hope Deidara is okay master, you seemed to push him pretty hard".

Hidan analyzed her arm but there seemed to be nothing wrong with it, her clothes were still intact but that didn't stop him from feeling some concern.

"Hey girl, I want to know why you didn't dodge that, you and I were standing at right about the same spot, you could have easily dodged that bomb", Kisame chimed in with another question.

Sunnora looked up at Hidan and spoke, never once letting her eyes stray away from his, "because Hidan-sama ordered me to not move, and I didn't want to disobey his order".

Kisame looked fascinated by her words, "wow so you do everything you're told…I'm definitely not giving up on you now, girls like you are rare these days".

Hidan didn't know how to react when he heard her words, so because he ordered her not to move he was pretty much responsible for her getting hit with a bomb. He knew this girl called him master and seemed to depend on him a lot but he never imagined she would worship him enough to the point where she would sacrifice her life to follow his command.

Kisame once again spoke up and he recalled something, "Ah, is that why you didn't shake my hand when I introduced myself?"

Sunnora's eyes widened as she recalled that moment, "Oh my I'm so sorry, I wanted to tell you that I couldn't move at the moment, I apologize to you", she said and bowed sincerely.

Hidan felt slight relief that he hadn't held her hand, he wasn't sure why he felt relieved but he hated the way Kisame looked at his lackey.

He decided her had priorities to sort out and once again trained his eyes towards her arm. "I need to see your arm and check that everything is okay", he said as he grabbed the edge of the leather like clothing that covered her whole arm and pulled it up but it all gathered around her wrist and he couldn't seem to pull it any higher than that.

"I'm sorry Hidan-sama, I feel that is as high as it will go, but please do not worry about me, I am fine, I think you should tend to Deidara, he still hasn't gotten up", she said with a worried expression.

Hidan shook his head in denial, "no you're more importa-" Hidan widened his eyes and looked at her but she didn't seem to understand what was going on, but he did hear Kisame snickering behind him.

'Damn what am I saying? Why would I say something so stupid?'

Hidan cleared his thoughts and looked towards the hallway, "come on, let's go to my chamber, I need to see that your arm is alright".

"If you say so Hidan-sama", she walked behind him as he made his way towards the large hallway.

Hidan noticed the girl wasn't the only one that was following him, and stopped. "What the fuck do you think you're doing Kisame?"

Kisame grinned and touched Sunnora's shoulder, "I'm coming too".

Hidan glared and kicked Kisame in the stomach with enough strength to send him flying backwards, "LIKE HELL YOU ARE!" he shouted at the groaning fish man.

"Hidan-sama!" Sunnora felt worried for her new friend.

The silver haired male noticed the worried expression and continued to walk towards his room, "come on, he'll be fine, who do you think these people are? But after that stunt I'll have to watch where I step from now on".

Sunnora accepted her master's words and followed him onwards.

Well that's it for now, I will update soon with chapter 25 sometime this week or next week.

and yes I made Kisame into a pervert...lol, but I felt this story needed someone like that and Itachi or Sasori would definitely not work out for that xD
