Anibella- Congrads for starting your first fic.
Ghirahim tried to determine the source of the feeling of guilt that was eating at his heart as he rode back through his army. He looked to his companion her head lowered in thought. Was he guilty because he should have convinced the woman to stay behind? Or was he feeling guilty for choosing to risk the lives of so many instead of retreating? Neither sounded correct; although it was selfish to wish Rahzel by his side, she wouldn't have otherwise and the same applied to his subjects. Perhaps he was feeling guilty because he knew that the Skychild never has participated in a war before, none of the Surface Dwellers have. He had an advantage, but that had little effect on the toll this battle will take.
Or maybe guilt wasn't the feeling he was feeling. Maybe it was a premonition, an ill omen. The noble looked up at the clear bright sky which seemed to contest with any idea of an omen.

Rahzel tightened her grasp of the reigns of her horse. The noble creature pawed the ground nervously echoing the anxiety that the rider had. The Hylian tried to loose the sinking feeling that threatened to make her sick. The sound of the war drums were loud in her ears along with the grunting of the army waiting to strike.
"Rahzel," Ghirahim started. Rahzel turned to face him. "Are your braces tight?" the noble asked. The Hylian looked at the leather braces that confined her shins to the stirrups of her saddle. They were put in place in case of another seizure. They were meant to keep her from falling, but for the woman they were the outward sign of her weakness.
"I will be fine," the woman responded with a false smile.
The noble frowned, "You can return to the city. I will not think less of you."
The woman shook her head, "I am meant to be by your side."
"You may die."
"I am willing to die for you," Rahzel said looking intently into Ghirahim's brown eyes. The noble nodded reluctantly and raised his chin to the sorcerer behind the woman who was assigned to protect her.

Link didn't know what started the charge. One moment the two massive armies were standing at a stand still and the next they hurtled toward each other. The hero watched as both lines of beings crashed and the sound of metal and metal rang through the air.
There was no words to describe the battle. The hero never saw anything like it. He had fought many fights during his quest and more in the sequential war, but they paled in comparison to the current. They were ordered in their chaos. His personal enemies fought with a pattern and the battles of the war were sieges with similar tactics. This was a melee; the absolute definition of chaos.
The hero kept as many stray spells from hitting him. While dodging the magical attacks, the hero batted away the strikes from the few demons that reached for him. The hero may have the upper hand, but their was still unrest in his soul.

Midna watched as her rulers threw themselves at the advancing armies. She couldn't describe the pride and loyalty that she felt toward the pair. Ghirahim may not be her favorite person, but he begun to gain her trust. Rahzel became a sister to her and was the closest thing to family that she had.
Midna sent a spell that lifted a handful of Hylians and Sheikah and sent them flying. The Twili watched the battle the two armies now intertwined in a indistinguishable mass. Rahzel and Ghirahim were slowly making their way to where the hero was fighting off the other demons. The Twili spurred her horse to follow crushing a couple of unfortunate Sheikah.
The Twili caught up after a couple of minutes. She rode behind the pair giving them cover from any magical attacks. Midna quickly stopped a arrow that nearly skewered her. While her back was turned, a large wave swept all of the horses off their feet. The Twili quickly detached herself from the stead and saw that the pair had done the same.
The hero rode to the dismounted group and Midna used a tiny fire spell to cause the enemy's horse to buck. The hero fell to the ground but quickly regained her footing.

Groose saw Link fall from his horse. The red-head loaded an arrow and fired at the demon lord. The projectile pounced harmlessly off the red armor that he wore. The white-haired demon turned to him and narrowed his eyes. The noble crouched and speed to him. Groose managed to stop the attack with the small tanto in his adventure pack.
The demon narrowed his eyes and Groose knew that he would not live a second time against the demon lord. He did the only thing he could think of. The ex-bully reached into his pack keeping one hand on his dagger. The demon lord's blade neared the Hylian's throat as he searched for the desired object.
He barely felt the smooth curved surface of the object when the black rapier bit into his shoulder. The pain mattered not to Groose, after all, he had the key to win this war.

Rahzel didn't notice that Ghirahim left her side to fight Groose. She was focused on the hero who was now slashing away at her. The woman dodged knowing that if their blades were to meet, the hero would pry the sword from her twitching grasp. She was gasping, trying to catch her breath.
She swung and caught the edge of the hero's tunic. The sword in her hand continued its momentum as it slipped through her shaking fingers. Her eyes caught its glint as it caught the sun on its path. She glanced at the hero as he brought his blade down at her.
The cold kiss of steel never met her flesh rather it was the warm slap of blood that specked across her face and clothing. The woman's breath caught her throat as she watched the orange ponytail freeze. "Midna," she shouted as she caught the falling Twili.
She lowered the younger woman down, so the Twili was resting her head on her lap. The others must have noticed their queen's state for they stepped in keeping the hero at bay. This gave the woman time to speak to her fallen friend. "Why would you do that?" Rahzel asked as tears streamed down her face, grief suffocating her. The woman desperately held the dripping wound.
The Twili gave a lop-sided smile, "You're my queen…and my sister."
The Hylian tried to give her a watery smile, "It is I who should protect you."
The Twili shook her head slowly. Rahzel noticed a pair of feet standing protectively beside her. She looked up at the sorcerer that was ordered to protect her. "Save her," she wheezed.
The sorcerer gave her a sad shake of his head. "There is nothing that can be done."
Rahzel wanted to scream to release the pain in her heart, but she remained silent. She watched as the Twili in her arms breathed. The younger woman grimaced a couple of times when one of her breaths made an odd whistling sound. The Twili slowly moved less and her breathing became more difficult. "Go to sleep, Midna. You will be safe," Rahzel said at last hoping that somehow words would comfort. The woman lowered her head when the Twili exhaled and didn't inhale again.
Rahzel put Midna's body on the ground softly. She picked up her blade that had fallen to the side. She glared at the hero. Every doubt was gone, she had to kill the hero. She had to avenge all those who had died due to his foolish stubbornness; those who followed his ignorant laws of intolerance.
