A/N: As you can tell, ya'll convinced me to update early. You probably saw that this is the last chapter. :( That being said, I'm relinquishing my hold on all of the characters. I'll honestly miss them.

-SaraTheAngelic- Thank you for reviewing. I'm sorry for being so cruel to all my readers. And would I kill Rahzel? Yes there is a good chance that I would. I don't think Link is dense and we will see his POV in this chapter, so stay tuned.

-Anibella- Don't cry, I believed I promise all of you a happy ending.

Link watched the woman climb the steps. All he think of was the young seer and Hylia. Hylia wasn't the kind and benevolent ruler that they were taught. But Hylia was fighting a war, she couldn't offer mercy to those who might harm the citizens. The hero watched as three large birds landed on the gallows. One owl and two eagles.

They stared at him intently as if judging his actions. The birds made Link's stomach do a flip. Maybe he should agree to Rahzel's terms. What use did he have for the desert? Even with the timeshift stones, the demons will not be able to inflict harm. Link was to open his mouth to speak when he heard one of his knights whisper to another, "About time she was punished. At last everyone can have a good night's sleep."

This one sentence reminded Link of the uneasiness that his subjects felt. The way they begged for more guards and protection. Their cries were almost as haunting as his dreams. The least he could do is offer them comfort.

The hero stood up and he could feel Rahzel's eyes on him. He had expected her to look at him with hate, but all he saw was indifference yet acceptance. Link now could see that the cost of this war weighed as heavily on her as he felt. He stated her charges and asked for any final words.

"Why should I waste my breath and wisdom on hapless fools?" the woman responded. Link looked down at his feet feeling the sting of her words. They were clearly meant for him. Was he the fool or was she? She was the one who followed her kidnapper.

Before he could rethink his decision, Link nodded his head to the executioner. He might end her life, but he would comfort all his citizens. The hero watched as the masked executioner pulled the wooden lever. He watched as the flooring under Rahzel's feet slipped beneath her slowly.

Link turned away and hoped that her death was swift. There was a collective gasp. The hero looked back at the gallows expecting the woman to be free and smirking. Instead he watched in horror as the woman was suspended in the air. He realized that the executioner had miscalculated. The rope was too heavy, so the woman's weight didn't tighten the noose as it was supposed to. She hung kicking her legs frantically as her hands were at the rope around her neck instinctively trying to free her airways.

"Get her dow…" Link started when a loud snapping sound echoed the courtyard.

Rahzel was gasping. The rope burned against her throat. This wasn't supposed to happen. Her death was to be instant, not this torturous. Her body begged for air as she tried to claw the choking rope. Darkness was inching into the corners of her vision. She heard Link shout something and a loud snapping sound.

If her brain wasn't oxygen starved, she wouldn't have thought that Ghirahim had come to save her. He was dead. There was no way he could have lived. This thought made hot tears build up. Her body jerked and fell onto a solid floor. She landed on her hands and knees looking down on a floor of overlapping diamonds.

Hands placed themselves on her shoulders before loosening the rope around her neck. The woman took grateful breathes. The burning in her lungs cooled to a numbness. Rahzel looked up to her rescuer 's face. She blinked a couple of times to reassure that she wasn't seeing things. She even shook her head at the Ghirahim in front of her hoping to clear the hallucination . The noble looked awful. He looked battered and had healing burns on his skin. His eyes looked at her with a weariness she never saw before. Rahzel trying to determine whether the noble was real or not reached out and touched his face. A white-gloved hand trapped hers against his face. "Ghirahim," Rahzel finally spoke her voice raspy.

Ghirahim lifted Rahzel to her feet. He looked around him and nodded in satisfaction at the panic of the crowd. Guards were charging up the scaffold to attack the noble. Ghirahim wrapped one arm around the woman keeping her close. He was too weak at the moment to fight all of the soldiers. In fact he wasn't sure if he could teleport both Rahzel and himself away from the city. Before the guards reached the top steps a louder chorus of screams sounded. The guards and Ghirahim turned to watch as other demons revealed themselves dispersed through the crowd. Liztalfos, Twili, Bokoblin. Demons from Dusk, Twilight, the Higher and Lower realms. The noble had to watch in amazement as he saw what his and Rahzel's work had done. They had united the people. The people held the both of them in high regard. Instead of abandoning him as they did Demise, they had come to his and Rahzel's aid.

"Stop," Link's voice shouted loudly over the chaos.

Link watched as the demons came out of hiding. They cornered his people. The king noticed at that moment that even if he killed both Ghirahim and Rahzel, their subjects would fight back. They were loyal to the pair's idea.

The hero looked up at the birds on the gallows. They spread their wings and took off. They flew in a v-shape. The red-brown eagle took the point while the other two flew side-by-side. This pattern immediately reminded him of the Triforce. "The goddesses," Link breathed in amazement. He looked to the pair. "Wisdom, Courage, and Power make a hero," he thought out loud.

"Stop," he shouted at the top of his lungs hoping for everyone's attention. Ghirahim looked at him suspiciously and pulled Rahzel closer to him. "King Ghirahim, I agree to your terms," he shouted.

The hero could feel thousands of eyes on him. His subjects and the demons questioning. Ghirahim nodded and walked slowly to the hero's platform. Rahzel followed behind looking more confident as she reached the hero. The crowd parted allowing the pair through. "Why the sudden change of heart?" Rahzel asked as she neared the hero. The hero had to note how rough her voice sounded and the angry red band around her neck.

"I have been enlightened," Link answered, "I will admit. I only thought one hero could be chosen. I never imagined there could be another hero."

Ghirahim raised an eyebrow, but didn't argue, "So you are giving us the desert?"

The hero nodded, "We can meet in my tactical room to write up the treaty." Link climbed down the platform and started to walk to his tactical room. The pair followed at his heels. The crowd watched in confusion as the three enter the castle walls.

Rahzel looked at the endless landscape of sand. She lowered her head and wished that Midna and the other comrades she lost could have seen this. "We have a lot of work to do," Ghirahim stated as he also looked at the empty land.

"Can we even build a viable kingdom here?" Rahzel asked just watching as their subjects began pitching their tents.

Ghirahim chuckled, "The woman who nearly single-handedly changed fate is asking if we can live in the desert." Rahzel looked at him confused. The noble snapped his fingers and clouds bubbled into the sky. Rahzel looked up and watched as the clouds burst sending droplets of rain to the ground. "Were you worried about water?" Ghirahim answered. "With all the sorcerers, we can make this land flourish."

Rahzel smiled and reached out for his hand. Their fingers intertwined. Rahzel looked back out to the land and even though she was getting soaking wet and was getting chill, she felt a warmth she never knew. She was finally at home.
