Life after Chapter 2 – Planning Anxiety
It was 6 months before the wedding and it seemed that everything was slowly starting to fall into place. Leena and Bit decided to have a small wedding and invite close friends and family. Since Leena didn't have many girlfriends she had Naomi as her maid of honor. She also through the years had developed a close friendship with the Tasker sisters and they were her bridesmaids.
Over time, the room that Leena and Bit were sleeping in had bags in various sizes from wedding stuff to wedding things strewn all over the floor and everything.
"I hope we get a bigger room once the wedding is over with." said Leena "It's not my fault that everything exploded here in the room." said Bit
Actually what Leena didn't know was that when everyone on the base was gone and Bit was usually the only left there, he had a couple of friends he knew had started building him and Leena's future house and claiming it so far to be a "garage" for his and Leena's zoids.
They had some of the stuff moved to Leena's old room where there was some room but not a whole lot. The important stuff for the wedding like Leena's dress and all that was kept at Naomi's house where she would be before the wedding.
"I wish these next 6 months would just go by already, planning this wedding so far has given me headaches and a couple of migraines." said Leena "But you know what though, it will be all worth it in the end when you are finally my wife." said Bit
"I know and I can't believe how lucky I am either, despite having doubts that I think I ever get married." Said Leena "Now why would you think of something like that?" Said Bit 'Let's be honest here I've never thought of myself as much of a catch to anyone, I've always been a tomboy hands down ever since I was little." Said Leena "But that's what I like about you, the fact that you're not superficial or high-maintenance and I love you for your personality, your feistiness and your honesty, I could keep going but I think we be here all night." Said Bit
"It still feels weird sometimes that you of all people chose to marry me when someone else could have come along and sweep me off my feet, but I think you kind of did that a little later on." Said Leena
"Well I admit I may not be the most romantic person at time but I do know how to be romantic when the time and place calls for it and I know how to surprise you as well." Said Bit with a big goofy grin on his face.
"How is the garage coming along? I see that a little more work was done on it." Said Leena "its coming along, I just have to make sure it fits not only your liger, but my liger as well and all his armors and etc. but I have a good feeling it should be done by the time we are married or even earlier." Said Bit
"Although I don't see why you have to have a garage built when the one here on the base has been serving its purpose as a garage, plus the room is 10 times larger then what you're building right now, but I guess I can't wait to see it when it's all done." Said Leena
Bit just couldn't help but smile at Leena and thinking about the future that he and her hope to have and the possibilities of children as well and them growing up to be Zoids pilots. It had been a crazy few years he had to admit, from him almost dying to Leena almost dying it had definitely strengthened there bond and relationship as well. He definitely thought that at first that Leena had never wanted a relationship until those events happened and Leena secretly over time developing feelings for him.
Even though the both of them made full recoveries, they still had the scars to remind them and show them that life can be scary and scare the crap out of you sometimes when you think that death is knocking at your door. Bit stared at his scars and saw that some had almost disappeared where others were still present.
"What are you doing?" asked Leena seeing that Bit was in the bathroom, "nothing dear" said Bit as he was coming out of the bathroom putting on a clean shirt. "You were looking at your scars again weren't you?" Said Leena
"Well it's kind of hard to forget these things when you have reminders of it almost all over your body and the major one being right here." Said Bit as he pointed to his chest where there was a faded scar but still a huge reminder that he almost died.
"But let's not forget if that bullet had hit its mark you wouldn't have been here today to tell me about it." Said Leena tearing up a bit
"Leena, im sorry I didn't mean to make you start crying." Said Bit as he went over to Leena and just started holding her and kissing her head. "It's alright, im here aren't i? And nothing in this universe will take me away from you, soon enough we'll be tied together in body, mind and soul." Said Bit and he just held Leena tighter.
Throughout the night Leena held onto Bit like as if he was going somewhere and never coming back. Bit had too a few times ask Leena to loosen her grip a little bit because he couldn't breathe a few times. "I guess saying all that stuff to her didn't really help." Said Bit when he was in the bathroom after having to get up and get some water to drink.
The next day Leena woke up and thought that yesterday was a bit crazy and she had somehow stored what Bit said into the back of her mind never to be thought of again. "Did you sleep okay last night?" said Bit.
"I slept fine I think." Said Leena "I would hope so cause you clung to me pretty tightly through the night." Said Bit chuckling a bit and dumping the glass of water down the sink.
Leena blushed a little bit, "sorry about that, it's just that all those things you said yesterday made me kind of worried and scared." Said Leena "Did you want some coffee or anything? Cause I think I smell breakfast being made down in the kitchen." Said Bit
"I'll go down in a little bit I would like to wake up a bit and get cleaned up a bit before heading down, cause you guys have seen me before after I've just woken up and it wasn't pretty if I remember correctly." Said Leena
Bit laughed a bit, "Yes I do remember that, and I think since then we haven't laughed at you since then, but take your time we don't really have much planned for today till a little later this afternoon." Said Bit and he kissed Leena before heading down to the kitchen.
"How's Leena doing?" asked Brad when he saw Bit. "She's doing ok but this whole planning thing has made us a little crazy, I never knew planning a wedding would be this much." Said Bit as he sat down with a cup of coffee and grabbing some toast. "Well no one ever said planning would be easy, how many guests you have invited?" said Brad
"We invited about 150 people and that's between her family, my family and a friend of Doc and Zoid teams and whomever has come across knowing doc and Leena and me and my family as well." Said Bit "did you ever think you be getting married someday?" asked Brad "Not really to be honest, I just figured I be drifting for the rest of my life picking up parts here and there and restoring Zoids and selling them and just continuing that." Said Bit
"I do have to say though, it will be interesting to see how you two will be after you guys are married, but I have to say though Bit it will be an honor being your best man at the wedding and I just wanted to thank you for asking me." Said Brad
"No problem and Jamie and Jack will do good too, how are things with you and Naomi?" said Bit "were doing good, she has some more things to tie up and then she'll be moving here." Said Brad with a goofy smile on his face. "Asking her to move in here was not a bad idea I must say." Said Bit "It'll be nice having her here cause then she can help Leena with more of the wedding planning giving you a bit of a break." Said Brad
"Actually the planning hasn't really been all that bad, it's the memories that have been giving Leena some bad dreams and nightmares." Said Bit "well I got to be honest you both went through kind of a hellish experience together so of course she's going to have though, you two are more connected then you guys realize sometimes." Said Brad
"That's true, but she is the one person who I literally and have done taken a bullet for and im sure she would do the same thing too." Said Bit "let's not re-experience that please, seeing you too the way you were more than enough for me." Said Brad remembering the experience
After breakfast, Bit brought some coffee to Leena and some of her favorite oatmeal which she has liked since she was a little girl: raisins and with a hint of cinnamon, it always made her feel better about things.
"Thank you for the oatmeal and coffee, I feel a lot better now." Said Leena after having breakfast "I figured you would like since you told me that a while ago, and trust me even I would feel better after having oatmeal like that." Said Bit
"What's on the agenda for this afternoon?" asked Leena "I think we have to meet with the wedding planner to make sure that everything is all set so far, I mean we have everything pretty much paid off so that at least we won't have to owe anybody after the wedding which will be a good thing." Said Bit "Do you want me and Naomi to meet with the wedding planner instead so you can relax for the day?" said Leena
"If you want to do that that's fine, but what if there something that I may need to be there for to make a decision?" said Bit "Hun you have done enough already and have been there for a good majority of the decision process, let me and my girls take care of something for once." Said Leena with a slight giggle
"I guess relaxing here for the day sounds like a good idea, I can take liger out for a bit so he can stretch his legs he has been whining a bit that he hasn't gone out a whole lot when all the time we've gone into town to get stuff or meet with people we've always taken your liger." Said Bit
So after Leena and Naomi went into town to meet with the wedding planner Bit decided to take liger out for some exercise and sun. As he went out in liger it felt good to just run across the desert and feel like you're free. He brought liger to a stop and told him he was getting out for a bit. He got out of liger and just sat at the base of his large paw and just let the breeze play with hair it felt good though to be out in the sunshine and warm air.
Later on that afternoon Leena and Naomi came back to the base and was told that everything was set so far. "That's good at least, I think we picked a good spot to get married in seeing as how it's one of the more lower key places to get married in." said Leena "At least its big enough for us to have the ceremony in and the reception afterwards." Said Bit Where they were getting married was at a place Terra Cotta which has been around for a long time but the interior of the place was where the real charm was to the place.
"I think the only thing we have left to do is make the favors and what not but that's what me and the girls will be doing once the date gets closer to the wedding." Said Leena "Im sure that's what you girls call your idea of fun." Said Bit with a slight laugh
"It will be more fun when the wedding is over and we all can relax after that." Said Leena "you just want this date to come already don't you?" said Bit "Yes I do, I just want all this planning to be over with so I can start my life with you." Said Leena as she kissed Bit
"I think im starting to get diabetes from watching you two." Said Brad "well you and Naomi will soon two be doing that when the day and time comes for you two to settle down." Said Bit "Before you know it he'll be marrying either his Zoid or Zoids." Said Naomi with a laugh Brad stuck his tongue out at Naomi.
"Careful now, you use that mouth to kiss me don't you?" said Naomi and with that Brad blushed a pretty deep pink.
Later on that evening when dinner was being prepared, the group decided to play cards to pass the time till dinner was done and Leena was doing a pretty good at kicking people's asses. "How did you learn to be so good at cards?" asked Bit "Between my mom before she passed and my dad they both showed a wide variety of card games and strategies and tips." Said Leena
After dinner was done and everything and all the dishes washed and put away Leena decided to retire to a book and Bit decided to watch a movie. Bit climbed onto the bed where Leena was reading and kissed her head "you seem more relaxed today then from yesterday." Said Bit Leena put her book down "after thinking about yesterday it just seems now that all my anxiety is between this planning and the wedding and what we talked about and I realize that we can make it through just about anything and we are going to be tested throughout our married life and I know with every challenge that comes our way we'll beat it together." Said Leena
Bit smiled at that and also smiled at the beautiful woman whom he will call to be his wife in a few short months here. "What do you think your mom would say if she was here today seeing at what's happening?" asked Bit "I think she would be proud of all of us and she would be even more proud to have you as a son-in-law and knowing that im marrying such a gentle person who is also a lot like my dad as well and I think she would have loved seeing her grandchildren as well when the time comes for that." Said Leena
"I can't wait for the time comes when we'll have children because something tells me if we have a boy and a girl they'll definitely be a mix of the two of us." Said Bit with a laugh "But I definitely know one thing if we have a little girl she'll definitely grow up to be beautiful like her mother." Said Bit "and if we have a little boy he'll grow to be like his dad strong and gentle and who also has a kind heart as well." Said Leena
"we'll have plenty of time for kids and besides im sure you'll dad will love to have little kids again running around the base like you and Leon did when you guys were probably small." Said Bit
"We should probably get to sleep here cause we have a long day tomorrow seeing as how were going to be visiting your family." Said Leena "my family loves it when we visit plus they always look forward to seeing you too as well." Said Bit Leena decided to put her book down and snuggle up close to Bit "soon enough we'll be starting the rest of our lives." Said Leena
"Good night Hun, love you." Said Leena
"Love you too Hun and good night." Said Bit and he kissed his future wife good night.
