"Ok guys. I think you're ready!" Felix shouted after another hard day of training. Everyone was panting some wore smiles while others wore nervous frowns. Felix turned to Saph.
"Would you like to say anything to them?" and Saph nodded in response.
"As you all know, this is the last day before the battle begins. I believe that you are all ready to face this threat! But for this mission to work, you need to trust and believe in one another. Remember the plan and how you each fit into it; everyone must play their part for us to succeed. Tomorrow, we will stop the Order and end their rein of terror on this school! Tomorrow, we will be victorious!" Saph raised her fist in the air and everyone shouted in agreement.
"Before you all leave, I would like to inform you about our backup plan. Cry here" Saph motioned to Cry "has the ability to turn invisible and create force fields. Will over there" she motioned to Will in the bleachers "can control explosions. Our plan is that if the Order has a trick up their sleeve that makes everything turn south, then I will yell for everyone to get close to Cry. Then, Will will create an explosion large enough to take out the majority of the Order members." A few people in the bleachers looked around anxiously.
"What about the people who are guarding Ms. Wattman? What will happen to them?" a girl in the crowd shouted out.
"We will try to get the message to you as soon as possible, but there is a chance that it will not make it in time. How about someone who is fast goes to deliver the message to the guards if the order is given?" Saph glanced around the room and many of the guards nodded reluctantly.
"Ok it's decided then, I will see you all tomorrow in your positions and I wish you all the best of luck! Farewell!" Saph waved and everyone was dismissed. She walked back over to the group of Youtubers.
"Do you think the whole messenger plan is gonna work?" Yami asked.
"No, it most likely won't, but if they knew that they wouldn't help." Saph defended herself.
"I suppose so…" Yami trailed off, uncertain of the morality of the decision.
"How about we all meet up before the battle to wish each other good luck?" Adam suggested, he refused to say, "to say our goodbyes" because he couldn't face the possibility that his friends could die in the next 24 hours.
"Yeah! I think that's a great idea! How about in Felix's room where no one will see us?" Mitch suggested and everyone agreed.
"Well, I'll see you guys then. Bye!" Saph separated from the group and Mark trailed behind her. Once they were out of the gym, Mark began to talk to her.
"Saph, can you be completely honest with me?"
"Of course! What is it?"
"Do you truly believe that we can win this?"
"I think we have a chance…"
"Saph…" Mark looked at her seriously.
"Ok, I don't think it's likely. But I still think we have a chance!" She admitted.
"Same here." Mark muttered as they continued down the classroom hallway.
(The Next Day in Felix's Room)
"So I guess this is it…" Cry sighed as he looked around the room. Everyone was now present.
"Don't say that Cry! We don't know that it's the end!" Felix exclaimed.
"Felix, we have to be realistic. It is quite possible that one or more of use won't make it. We need to be honest with each other." Mark looked around the room and his eyes suddenly felt puffy. He felt a drop run down his cheek and he turned away to wipe it off.
"I-I'm sorry guys, its just that I've grown to know you all so well and we've all grown so close that…" Mark sniffled and took a moment to draw a shaky breath "…that I couldn't imagine life without any of you. I just love you guys so much." Mark removed his glasses to wipe off the tears forming in his eyes.
"Mark you're not going to be happy until we're all crying are you?" Everyone looked to Yami, who had clearly visible tears streaking down his face. He ran to Mark and gave him a bear hug. One by one the Youtubers burst into tears until they were all in one mass of bawling gamers. After almost a minute they slowly separated from each other. Jerome turned to Mitch.
"Mitch, I want you to know that ever since we've been doing videos together I've considered you one of my best friends. You've been with me through good and bad times and you've never let me down. I don't think I could stand to lose you like this. You're my best friend, Mitch." Jerome, breaking his usual character, began to cry and pulled his friend into a hug.
"Jerome, you've had some pretty stupid ideas in the past…ok a lot of stupid ideas. You're not the smartest person I know, but you are the bravest, funniest, and most loyal guy I've ever known and I'm proud to call you my friend." Mitch said with tears running down his face. Just the sight almost brought Adam to more tears as he turned to Ty.
"Ty…I just wanna say that-" He was interrupted by Ty hugging him.
"You don't have to say anything, Adam. I know." Ty smiled.
"Guys?" Cry grabbed everyone's attention "Since there is a chance that I might not make it…I want you guys…to remember me…" he reached his hand up to his mask.
"Cry…you don't have to if you don't want to" said Felix.
"No it's ok Pewds…I need to…" Cry said before pulling off his mask and dropping it to the floor. Everyone stared at the now visible face of their friend. He had two hazel eyes and a harsh scar that ran down one side of his cheek. Ken stepped towards him.
"Cry…what ha-"
"My father" Cry interrupted him. Suddenly Felix, Marzia, Minx, and Ken all burst into tears and hugged Cry, whose eyes also began to turn puffy and drip with tears. Saph interrupted the group.
"Guys…its time to go,…" said Saph. All of the Youtubers separated from each other and cleared their eyes of tears.
"Before we go, I just want to say that I'm glad I had the chance to get to know you guys. And… good luck" she smiled before walking out the door, into the coming battlefield.
