So for this chapter, we bring in one of Spider-Man's lesser known villains. She was prominent during "Clone Saga," went off radar for a while (basically from the 90's through the 2000s), and just recently popped up again in Superior Spider-Man. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome into the ring, the one and only...STUNNER! (also know as Angelica Brancale.)

Let the next beat down begin! Enjoy :D

Chapter 9: Stunner

"Ok…so what's the story on this one?" Carol asked as they touched down near the carnage their current enemy had laid in waste on her rampage. "She's not really…real in a sense?"

"Oh no, she's real," Peter replied. "She's just not here-the thing that caused all THIS-that's just a construct made by a Virtual Reality construct matrix…thingy that she used back when she was with Otto some time ago." Peter looked around at the damage and sighed. "Which means I have to go find it…and she could have put it anywhere in the city, and therefore she could be anywhere; a virtual needle in a haystack of concrete. Yay."

"That sounds like fun," Carol smirked. "So, I guess I'm taking care of the construct until you find it. Anything I should know before I go after her?"

"Let's see…she's as strong as Ben at base power….she can disappear when she feels it's not going her way and reappear somewhere else…"

"Good enough for me," Carol smirked, her eyes glowing in anticipation of the battle. "Don't wait up for me."

"Be careful, Carol."

She grabbed his hand affectionately. "Always," she smiled. With that, she took off into the skies in search of Angelica Brancale's virtual construct-Stunner, as she was called, or called herself-it didn't matter; after Carol was done with her, there'd be more important things to deal with besides names of supervillians. Flying down the villainess' path of rampant destruction, she couldn't help but sigh at the damage she had caused so far. From what she had understood, Angelica had just woken up from a coma she had been in since Peter and his "Clone" experience. Upon waking up, she instantly sought out Otto Octavius, Dr. Octopus; unfortunately, she had found out he was currently locked up very heavily in the Raft. Naturally, she didn't like that.

Carol soon came up to the newest point of rampage, where police, SWAT and a battalion of SHIELD agents were now engaging her target. Stunner was clearly powerful, or at least durable enough to tank bullets and rockets, and strong enough to throw vehicles.

Piece of cake, Carol thought to herself.

"BRING ME OTTO OCTAVIUS!" Stunner yelled out as she charged at a position of SWAT units shooting at her, a big piece of a torn car in her hands. She would've done some serious damage, too, if she wasn't at that moment slammed into the ground by a powerful photon blast.

"Brancale, I'm only going to tell you this once," Ms. Marvel said as she descended from the skies onto the ground, her fists blazing with energy. "Stand down now."

"And you are you supposed to be?" Stunner snapped, getting up as if she wasn't fazed by Carol's attack.

"Ms. Marvel, a friend of Spider-Man's."

"Then you're just another enemy I get to beat the crap out of!" Stunner yelled as she charged at the Avenger, her fist ready to lay down the hurt-only for Carol to grab her fist as she made to hit her, just inches away, and sent her flying into a nearby building with her own punch. Carol smirked at the impact, satisfied by the result. With confidence, she walked to where Stunner would be laying in pain and struggling to get up-and was completely surprised as Stunner rushed out of the rubble and dust, catching her completely off-guard as she slammed her body into the heroine's with enough force, momentum and surprise to send Carol sprawling onto the ground, leaving her completely at the mercy of Stunner's powerful fists; and Stunner wasn't one to just dish out one punch. She served out bullet punches.

"Fighting me was a huge mistake, Ms. Marvel!" Stunner yelled as she continued to land after punch on Carol's body. "All I want is Otto Octavius! This all could've been avoided if you people just do what I asked in the first place and brought me Otto Oct-!"

"OH SHUT UP!" Carol yelled back as she took a very small opening by blasting Stunner with a dual photon blast, sending her staggering back out of surprise. She then followed up with a combination of powerful punches, utilizing her knowledge of martial arts as she landed each mighty blow, forcing Stunner to go on the defense, trying and failing to block pretty much all of them. Carol then fired one final photon blast, sending the villainess slamming into the ground again. The Avenger stood towering over the villainess, a smirk on her face and one fist still blazing with energy. "So," she said, "give up yet, Stunner?"

She was surprised to see Stunner smirk. "Oh, you have no idea what I can do, can you?" the villainess sneered. Suddenly, she kicked Carol in the leg, and Carol was surprised enough to stagger back, allowing Stunner to get up and land powerful haymakers on Carol's face, and the heroine was shocked to feel that there was more force behind her blows. "I'm a virtual construct right now, dumbass," Stunner smirked, getting into another fighting position. "Hard light that can harden or soften in any way, meaning that I can harden this body enough to increase my strength, and durability…meaning I can really-" she landed another haymaker on Carol's face "-lay down-" she grabbed her blonde hair as she was staggering from the impact "-the hurt!" Stunner then flipped Ms. Marvel over her own body, slamming her powerfully into the ground with a thunderous boom. But before she could do anything else, Carol instantly retaliated by flying upwards, grabbing the villainess by the throat and soaring into the skies, sending her back down with a powerful haymaker right in her nose. Stunner connected to the ground with a mighty thud, echoing for blocks around.

"You may be stronger," Carol snarled as she then crashed down into Stunner's body, her leg slamming into the villainess. "But you're still not as strong as me!" Carol then slammed her fist into Stunner's face, and then fired another photon blast right into her face. But as she continued her blast, Stunner grabber her firing fist with even more strength than before, and twisting it aside, she landed another powerful punch on Carol's face, sending her staggering back again.

"I think I disagree with you, skank," Stunner sneered, cracking her knuckles. "And even if, by some weird miracle, you actually were right, it doesn't matter. Since you have your strength, you clearly have the stamina to back it up. But sooner or later, you're going to tire out…because even though you're superhuman, you're still just a human, and in this virtual body, I don't tire out, I don't stay down, and I don't get hurt like that. So," she snarled with a sneer as she starting charging Carol, "start wondering if keeping Otto in prison is worth what's about to happen!"

'Dammit, she has a point,' Carol told herself as she flew up to dodge Stunner's attack, retaliating with a powerful photon blast. 'Eventually, I'm going to get tired…and she'll just keep going and going. Dammit, Peter, you better find this woman and her virtual machine soon!' Flying down back at Stunner, she fired a flying roundhouse kick to her back, sending the villainess flying into a nearby car, following up with more photon blasts, not relenting at all, hoping to keep her down with her barrage of energy attacks until Peter could locate Brancale and her virtual machine. Only with that was this battle going to end.

Carol suddenly was slammed into the ground, mostly out of surprise, courtesy of Stunner throwing another car at her. With Carol momentarily dazed, Stunner followed up with a jumping ax kick, sending Carol into the ground. Carol's durability was stronger than most of her teammates and allies, and she had strength that could rival Hulk's if she really needed it to, and Stunner wasn't on her level of strength… but she was getting close, and maybe soon, she could be able to reach her own levels of strength. Her durability was already pretty damn annoyingly good.

Carol then yelled in fury as she fired another dual photon blast at Stunner's face…and was completely shocked when it simply went right through her body.

"Virtual body," Stunner smirked with leering eyes. "Able to harden, and soften to hologram properties." With that, she slammed her fist back into Carol, and Carol uppercut her in the chin in retaliation, sending her flying across the street.

'Ok, this is ridiculous!' Carol yelled in her mind as flew right at Stunner, making to land a powerful punch, only for her momentum to get the better of her and have her crash into another nearby building, Stunner having softened her body to soft light levels. 'It's like fighting Moonstone again!' Stunner ran up and made to land a powerful punch again, but Carol was able to block it and send the villain flying back-not before she grabbed the heroine's hair and took her with her, Stunner flinging her into another building wall as she landed in a crouched position. Carol got out of the wreckage, dust matting her hair and costume, anger in her eyes and energy glowing in her fists. 'How the hell do I take her out?! She can take anything I dish because it's not really her body, and she can phase herself, and she can increase her strength output! Why the hell hasn't Peter found the Brancale yet?! I can't do anything to actually hurt her because of that damn hard light body construct and-!'

And then it hit her.

Hard light virtual construct.

'Carol, you are such an idiot.'

"Time to bring you down, Ms. Marvel!" Stunner roared as she charged at the heroine, her fist balled up in readiness for her attack. Carol smirked, standing her ground and readying her body for the impact. How could she have forgotten?

Hard or soft, light is light.

Stunner roared as she reached Carol.

Light is energy.

Stunner attacked, her fists coming down-and her battle cry drowned out into nothingness as Carol absorbed her body into her own.

Ms. Marvel absorbed energy…all forms of energy.

Carol's body adjusted to the absorption of the energy, and as it did, she looked around with a smirk, mentally slapping herself for forgetting such a crucial detail that could've ended the battle much, MUCH sooner.

Peter would probably take the opportunity to make a dumb blonde joke if he were here. Speaking of which…

"Ms. Marvel to Spider-Man," she said into her ID card as the police and firefighters took charge of the scene, seeing the battle was done. "Stunner is down; everything is good on this end. You found Brancale yet?"

"Just about," Peter replied with a smirk. "I figured she'd keep it in the base she and Doc Ock shared together back when they were, you know, working together. I'm here now, and-yep there she is…and she seems pretty pissed…Carol, what did you do?"

"I realized something I should've realized when our battle began," Carol smirked as she took off into the skies. "Give me your position so I can head on over, just in case she tries to make another construct."

"Are you sure it's not to see me, also?"

"It's a perk, I'll admit."
