Hello my lovely readers! I've been getting some great feedback on my last chapter so I thought I'd reward you with a new one! I hope you all continue to read and be patient with my updates! And keep reviewing! It gives me the encouragement I need to put down the textbooks and do something I enjoy ha!
Disclaimer: Sadly, I own neither Twilight nor Inuyasha
"Blah" speaking
"Blah" Thought
Reunited and It Feels So Good
Kagome stood in front of the lockers where their scents were strongest, fidgeting with extreme nervousness. They were bound to think she was a psycho and run off screaming after her performance yesterday and considering the fact that the fate of the world once again rested on their shoulders, this was not a good thing. She was just about to give up on the whole thing and leave the world to doom when she felt them coming right at her. She pretended to be examining her nails and that their appearance had surprised her.
"Oh! Hello!" She greeted with a shy wave.
"Uhh…hello…" The girl said with suspicious curiosity and Kagome could instantly see Sango in her.
"Why yes hello, beautiful." The Miroku reincarnation said leaning against the lockers and Kagome had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing out loud.
"Aren't you the girl who was speaking gibberish to us yesterday?" A voice said and Kagome turned her eyes to look once again at Inuyasha's reincarnation. She suddenly sent a thank you up to Kami for no longer having the ability to shed tears because those amber eyes looking at her were almost too much to handle.
"Uh-hah…yeah that was me…" She said scratching the back of her head sheepishly. "I'm so sorry about that. You see, you look an awful lot like a group of friends I had back in Japan. They passed away and since you look so much like them it was like seeing a ghost…so I kind of…freaked out I guess…" And it was true. They did very much resemble her family…if they had been American that is. The girl, like Sango, had dark brown hair and eyes, although her hair only came to the bottom of her chin, and an athlete's body full of lean muscle. "Miroku" had the same black hair, without the rat tail thank goodness, and violet eyes. "Inuyasha" had black hair like the real Inuyasha had during the new moon but his eyes were the amber color she had always loved, and he held his mouth the same way Inuyasha always did.
"Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, of course we understand." The girl said, shaking Kagome out of her reverie. "I'm Sara and this is Miles, and Ian." She said pointing to Miroku's reincarnation then Inuyasha's.
"I'm Kagome. Would you like to sit with me at lunch today?" Kagome asked with veiled hope.
"Sure that would be great." Ian said with an easy smile. Kagome froze for a fraction of a moment. Perhaps the similarities stopped with the looks in this one.
Kagome sat apart from her vampire family today and instead sat at a table with just Sarah, Miles, and Ian. Eventually she would bring them over to join them permanently but they had a lot to get through before that happened.
"So tell me about you guys…where are you from? How do you know each other?" She asked with what hoped wasn't too much enthusiasm.
"Well…Miles and I are cousins. My parents died when I was little and I've lived with him ever since. And Sarah is the daughter of Milo's parent's best friends." Ian explained.
"We're from New York, originally, not the city, and our parents decided it was time for a change of scenery. Since our dad's work in the same industry it wasn't hard for them to find jobs together, since the three of us absolutely refused to be separated." Sarah laughed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear that immediately came loose again.
"But tell us about Japan! What's that like?" Miles said, leaning forward. Kagome couldn't help but notice his hand inching across the table.
"I swear to God, Miles, if you put one hand on her I'm going to rip it off." Sarah said with a twitching eyebrow. Miles had the decency to look guilty and slump back in his chair. "Don't mind him, he's a pig."
"Am not! I'm cursed with a wandering hand!" Miles proclaimed and Sarah smacked him upside the head. It was so classic Miroku and Sango, Kagome had to shake her head a little to make them turn back into Miles and Sarah.
"Sorry about them, they're always like this." A voice whispered close to her and she turned to see amber eyes staring at her. Those eyes, will she ever be able to handle this?
"It's quite alright, you'd think they were in love." Kagome said with a giggle.
Time passed like this throughout lunch period. The three new students bantered back and forth and easily included Kagome. There really was a connection between them and the seals on their souls hadn't even been broken yet. They fit so easily together that Kagome was having a hard time not reaching out and pulling them all into a hug. This is what she had been missing without even realizing it. She loved her new family dearly but some love runs so deep it transcends time and even death. She could feel the gazes on her back but they were keeping their distance and letting her have this time, because too soon would the fun be over and the danger would begin.
"Hey, I know this might be kind of strange but…would you guys want to come over to my place after school and hang out?" Kagome asked hopefully.
"Are you kidding? That would be great!" Sarah said enthusiastically.
"Ok great! I'll meet you by your lockers and we'll go from there!" Kagome answered happily as the bell rang.
At the end of the day Kagome was gathering her things at her locker, excited to finally be getting out of there. She didn't realize her nerves were so on edge until she felt his calming presence behind her. She turned and buried her head in his chest as his arms came around her and he inhaled her scent.
"You seemed really happy at lunch." He said into her hair and Kagome sighed.
"I was…but I had to keep reminding myself that they're not them you know?"
"That must be very hard for you. I wish I could be there this afternoon to support you." He said with genuine concern.
She looked up into his butterscotch eyes and saw the tremendous love in them and smiled. "I'll be fine. Besides, you get to be there for the fun part, training." She said with a laugh and went up on her tiptoes to give him a kiss. The passion that flowed through their kisses was still so raw it was hard to break away from each other, but somehow they managed and Kagome had to rush to meet the group. Edward stared after her in amazement, wondering how he could have been so blessed to have her find him.
Ohhh what will happen in the next chapter? Will our favorite half-demon finally make his appearance? You bet! I hope you review, my lovely darlings! It's just starting to get to the good part!
