From where he sat beside Casey Jones in the main room watching a hockey match on the television, Raphael and the black haired vigilante could hear the youngest turtle, Michelangelo, in the kitchen where he was preparing lunch, whistling the tune to an Irish drinking song out loud, and accompanying him was the sound of cheerful meowing; that freaky cat, Ice Cream Kitty. They had let him keep it after the events of the Rat King, despite it being his fault it had been mutated in the first place, which Donnie had scolded him at length for.
Raph and Casey shared a look, and with a nonchalant shrug, they got up from the bench and wandered over to the kitchen, for they had little else to do until sundown in four hours. They entered the kitchen to find Mikey cooking at the stove, with the freezer door wide open, revealing a dancing ice cream cat inside that mewed with her master as he whistled, completely oblivious of their presence.
They couldn't hold back their sniggering as they watched the younger turtle and his melting feline companion. "Um, Mikey?" Casey said.
Mikey spun around with wide stunned blue eyes, his spoon full of noodles hovering frozen over the pot as he blushed slightly. He had been caught.
"…uhhhh…It was Ice Cream Kitty!" he said, pointing to the cat, who was completely oblivious to everything but its strange dancing.
Raph and Casey laughed. "I bet it was!" Raph chortled.
It was then that April walked into the kitchen, looking for a snack to fill her stomach before she headed over to the lab with Donnie, only to find Raph and Casey laughing at whatever Mikey had done this time, and she quirked a brow. "What are you guys doing this time?" she asked with a smile.
Casey turned to her, flashing the young red head with his 'caved-mouth' grin, "We just heard Mikey singing one of those drinking songs again…hell, why not? Wanna have another round with us, red?" he asked, putting his arm around Raph's shoulders as the two of them smirked at her.
April chuckled, putting her hands on her hips as she smirked right back, "Challenge accepted!" she laughed.
And it was after a beaming Mikey stole the video camera from Donnie's lab that yet another chorus was born.
All: Oh, Idey idey idey idey idey idey I!
Raph: Today I'm breaking up with her,
April: She's really got to go!
Casey: I have a sense of dread,
Mikey: I'm dating a guy named Joe!
Raph: (laughing) Because Joe won't leave me!
April: And that man won't shave!
Casey: But today he's got to go,
Mikey: he's the man I crave!
All: (laughing hard) Oh, Idey idey idey idey idey idey I!
April: I'll meet him in a diner,
Casey: I'll give him one small drink,
Mikey: I'll give him a diamond ring!
Raph: Leave, whattaya think?!
April: (laughing hard again) Oh Joe, will be so sad then,
Casey: I'm sure he'll take it well,
Mikey: We'll run away together!
Raph: And when we'll go to hell!
("Pffft, what the hell?!" Casey snorted as Mikey and April laughed next to him, and Raph only shrugged with a crap eating grin before they continued.)
Casey: I sent Joe right down,
Mikey: He said "I do!"
Raph: I said "I can't love you!"
April: "I'm…I'm leaving you!"
Casey: "Please don't be angry!"
Mikey: And Joe started to cry!
Raph: He cried, "Boo hoo hoo"!
April: The tears were in his eye!
All: Oh, Idey idey idey idey idey idey I!
Mikey: Now, I'm all alone.
Raph: And Joe is long gone.
April: And so I'll read my diary.
Casey: I'll… just sing this song.
Mikey: (laughing) But that's the way I like it.
Raph: I like being alone.
April: Oh sure, sometimes I miss him.
Casey:… Joe had a nice bone!
Leonardo, Donatello and Master Splinter all ran into the kitchen at the sound of screaming, faces written with panic, only to twist into confusion at the sight of howling teenagers on the floor, writhing and wiping tears from their eyes from laughter.
"Casey! D-dude! ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?!" Raph bellowed in laughter.
"It-It wasn't what I-I wanted to say!" Casey stuttered back as he tried to breathe.
"We were on camera!" April wailed, her sides hurting badly.
Splinter and his two sons that were not plagued with fits of laughter shared a confused look, then all turned to the slightly melting cat on the counter top holding the camera. She looked at them, and then proceeded to stretch forward and lick Splinter on the nose.
He only responded with a sigh and a shake of his head. "Teenagers," he chuckled.
