A few days had passed, Nick and Zoe were finally settled and quite used to life with two daughters. Eilidh was progressing nicely, she'd gained more weight since leaving the hospital, which was excellent. Zoe had moved on from breastfeeding and was now using new born's "Cow and Gate" to feed her. Jody was enjoying having her around, she spent most of free time talking to Eilidh and getting to know her. Life was going well for the Jordan's once again. "Mum?" Jody called, coming into the living room. "Yes sweetheart?" Zoe said, looking up from Eilidh whom she was cradling and feeding. "Oh its okay, you're busy." She replied, walking away. "Jody its okay. You can still talk to me." Zoe tried to encourage her. "No really. Its not important." She said. Zoe opened her mouth to protest again, however, she was interrupted by a loud banging on their front door. Eilidh squirmed, startled by the noise. "Oh dear." Zoe cooed, sitting her up to rub her back. "I'll go see what the commotion is." Jody said. She got up and went into the hall way, however, she stopped dead in her tracks when she saw who it was through the glass. She froze to the spot, unable to do anything else, and screamed. "Jody darling what is it?" Zoe shouted. That and the continuous banging drew her from her trance and, still screaming, she ran upstairs to hide. "What is it Jodes?" Zoe tried again, coming into the hall way. She went over to the door, oblivious as to whom the woman on the other side was, and opened it. Immediately, the woman barged in, shouting. "Watch it! I am holding a baby you know!" Zoe shouted at her. But the woman didn't care. She turned round to face Zoe and, right in her face, shouted, "Where is she! Where's my daughter! Why are you hiding her from me!" Immediately, the penny dropped for Zoe. "I don't know what you're talking about. Now please stop screaming, its upsetting my baby." "I'll do a lot more than upset her if you don't tell me where my daughter is." "If you think I'm going to let you see her after a threat like that, you've got another thing coming. Now. Let me go and put my baby down and then we'll talk!" Zoe shouted at her. Something about Zoe's body language and tone of voice managed to scare her into submission. She nodded. "Thank you." Zoe headed up to her room, placed Eilidh in her cot and quickly dialled three nines, using the upstairs telephone, before heading back down stairs. "Come on, the living room is in here." Zoe said, heading for the living room. "I don't care where the bloody living room is, I want to see my daughter!" She shouted. Zoe just about lost it. "She's not your daughter!" She shouted. "Yes she is, I don't recall you giving birth to her! I raised her!" "Raised her! Freaking raised her! No! You ruined her! You let your husband ruin her! For christ sake you even let him rape her! Don't come in here claiming to be her mum because you were never a mother to her!" She screamed. The woman snapped, she drew a knife from her pocket and launched at Zoe, lodging the knife somewhere in her abdomen. She screamed. "Now. Are you going to cooperate or should i do it again."the woman spat in her ear. Fortunately for Zoe, she never had a chance to move again because the police barged through the front door. The woman jumped and began to run into the living room but the police caught her. Zoe, however, wasn't in a great place. The knife was still stuck in her abdomen and she was losing a lot of blood. One of the officers knelt down next to her. "Hold on, I'll get you an ambulance." She said to her. "No..." Zoe gasped. "My... Daughters. Go see... See that they're okay... Please. Upstairs." She pointed a weak and shaky hand in the general direction of upstairs. The officer nodded and began to get up, but she was met with Jody, carrying Eilidh, at the stairs. "Don't worry, we're both fine, get an ambulance in here. I'm going to phone dad." Jody said. The officer nodded, taking the house phone off of a sobbing Jody and doing as she was told. In the mean time, Jody speed dialled Nick. "Hello?" Came nick's voice from the the other end of the line. "Dad?" "Yes, whats wrong Jody?" He asked, hearing her voice and immediately worrying. "Its mum. She's had an accident." She sobbed. "What sort of an accident?" He asked, slowly. "Well, Elizabeth came over. She wanted me. Mum wouldn't let her near me, she'd threatened Eilidh you see. Well, Elizabeth got angry, d-drew a knife... She s-stabbed her dad. She s-stabbed mum." At that she broke down into uncontrollable sobbing. "Jody, listen to me. Don't worry. I'm on my way. Make sure an ambulance is phoned. Go back to your mum and sit with her okay? I'll be right there." With that, he hung up. Jody wiped her face, adjusted her hold on a now crying Eilidh, shoogled her around soothingly, and headed back into the hall way to Zoe. She knelt down beside her gently. "Mum. Mum don't worry." She whispered, taking Zoe's hand. Zoe looked up at her daughter, her big brown eyes were filled with tears. She nodded slightly. With her free hand, she wiped her eyes, then patted Jody's shoulder to say thank you for the reassurance. She was frightened to speak, in case she might cry out in pain. Jody smiled. "Thats it. And Daddy's coming, he'll make you better." She added, still crying. "Mummy you have to stay strong. You have to stay strong for Eilidh, yeah? What would she do without you? What would I? Stay strong mum. For us." Zoe nodded again. The officer that had stayed to phone the ambulance, found even her eyes misting over. Minutes passed, they seemed like an eternity, but they passed, and Nick, Jeff and Dixie birst through the door simultaneously. Instinctly, Jody stood up and got herself and Eilidh out of the paramedics' way. She watched as they and Nick, attached Zoe to a drip, and placed a donut bandage over the knife. Eilidh cried the whole time, but Jody cuddled her, and rubbed her back and bounced her reassuringly, sh-ing her the whole time too, in a desperate attempt to allow ar least Eilidh to feel safe in this time of sheer horror for their little family. Soon, Zoe was put into the back of the ambulance. Nick got in the back. But this meant. Jody had to stay home with Eilidh. "Don't use anything electrical!" Nick shouted. "And for goodness sakes watch your sister." He added, as Jeff shut the ambulance doors. All jody could do was nod, however, she had no intentions of even staying in the house, so nick's breath had been wasted. As soon as the ambulance left, she rushed back in, wrapped Eilidh up in blankets and placed her in her pram. She then checked the house was all locked up before heading off. It wasn't a long walk to the hospital, and it took her no time at all. Sorry that its taken me so long to update guys. Year 12 (6th year) has really taken its toll on me. Sorry.
