Jody pushed the pram into the ED. Immediately, she was met with, and strangely comforted by, its chaotic atmosphere. Tess, who was standing by the reception desk, noticed Jody and Eilidh come in, and walked over to meet them. "Hello Jody sweetheart, why don't I take care of Eilidh for a while and you can go straight through to resus to see your mum?" She said softly. Jody nodded, so Tess took the pram. "Let Nick know that I've got her. We'll be in my office okay sweetheart." Jody just nodded again, then headed to resus. She arrived to find Zoe lying on the bed, knife still in her abdomen, however, she was still awake. She had an oxygen mask on and was attached to a drip. She didn't look good, to say the least. Still, Jody pushed on the door and went in. "Mum?" She whispered, in a voice barely audible. Yet Nick still heard her, his head snapped up immediately. "Jody? What are you doing here? Where's Eilidh?" He asked. "Eilidh's with Tess, in her office. I walked here. Don't worry, she was well wrapped up and safe in her pram. And I made sure the house was well locked up and all things electrical were off before I left. Which reminds me, here's the spare key. I had to use it to lock the door on the way out." She said, Nick nodded and took the key. Zoe raised a shaky hand and removed the oxygen mask from her face. "Jodes?" She whispered. "Mummy!" She hurried over to Zoe's bedside and took hold of her hand. Tears immediately filled her eyes as she saw Zoe's desperate facial expression. "Hello sweetheart." She said, quietly. "Hello mummy. How are you feeling?" "Not the best, to say the very least. Listen sweetheart, I'll be going to surgery soon. When I do, I want you to join Eilidh in Tess' office, okay?" Jody nodded. "Okay mum. Just, you be careful, yeah? Daddy, you'll stay with her, right?" Nick nodded. "Of course. Don't you be worrying, she'll be fine." He said. Zoe smiled tiredly. "I love you Jodes." She whispered. In a voice thick with tears, Jody replied, "I love you too." At that moment, Big Mac came in. "Theatre's ready for you my dear." He said, coming over to the bed and preparing it to be wheeled upstairs. "Bye, bye Mummy. I'll see you soon." Jody whispered, and quickly bent over to place a kiss on Zoe's forehead. "You too sweetie, now, go on and find Tess." Jody nodded. "Okay mum." She said, as she watched Big Mac wheel Zoe out of Resus. After a moments pause, she did what she was told and headed to Tess' office. She knocked on the door quietly, in case Eilidh had been asleep. "Come in." Came Tess' voice. So she opened the door and went in. "Oh hello Jody. How's your mum?" Tess asked immediately. "She's gone up to surgery." She replied. "Oh." "How's Eilidh been?" Jody asked, gesturing to her sister, who was sitting on Tess' lap, gazing up at Jody. "She's been great. Her little face just lit up when she saw you come in. Here, I think she wants a cuddle." Tess said, as the infant attempted to reach for Jody. Obligingly, Jody headed over and picked her up. Immediately, she burrowed her face in Jody's neck, and grabbed onto her hair, finding comfort in her elder sisters loving touch. "Jeesh, you really were eager to see me, weren't you?" Jody said. "I think she was, she loves you." Tess added. "Are you hungry Jodes?" "A bit. And I think Eilidh is due a feed, I've brought her bag." She said. Tess bent under the pram and retrieved the bulging baby bag. "Well, lets go down to the staff room and we can get you both sorted out." Jody nodded and followed Tess out. When they got to the staff room, Jody, still holding Eilidh, took a bottle of formula out of the bag underneath the pram and put it into the microwave. She put the microwave in and then headed back over to the bag, took out a bib, and then sat down on the couch to put it around Eilldh's neck. Tess watched amazed as the youngster retrieved the milk from the microwave, allowed it to cool and then fed Eilidh with expertise. "Wow, you certainly know what you're doing with her." "Well, its not the first time I've had a sister..." She said slowly. "What?" "Well, the police already new about Anna, they have her records. They have her records because she died when she was four. It went in as a suspicious death and was later confirmed to be murder, at my biological father's hands." She said, Tess gasped. "I had no idea! Do nick and Zoe know?" Jody shook her head. "No. They don't need to know either. That would just give them yet another reason to worry about me. Especially seeing as its not even worth worrying about. The reason I'm good with Eilidh is because I pretty much raised Anna by myself. For that reason, I still stop by her grave every now and then. She's the reason I didn't want mum or dad to read that diary, they would have found out about Anna." Tess had tears in her eyes. "You've had to cope with so much!" She said. "Yeah well. I'm used to it. Just don't tell mum or dad, its just, sometimes, its nice to tell someone." Tess nodded. Eilidh finished her bottle, so Jody sat her up and began to wind her. "Right, Jody, how does toast and cheese sound?" Tess asked. "Sounds great, thanks Tess."
