"I had no idea! Do nick and Zoe know?" Jody shook her head.

"No. They don't need to know either. That would just give them yet another reason to worry about me. Especially seeing as its not even worth worrying about. The reason I'm good with Eilidh is because I pretty much raised Anna by myself. For that reason, I still stop by her grave every now and then. She's the reason I didn't want mum or dad to read that diary, they would have found out about Anna." Tess had tears in her eyes.

"You've had to cope with so much!" She said.

"Yeah well. I'm used to it. Just don't tell mum or dad, its just, sometimes, its nice to tell someone." Tess nodded. Eilidh finished her bottle, so Jody sat her up and began to wind her.

"Right, Jody, how does toast and cheese sound?" Tess asked.

She switched on the TV robotically, it would be a while before Soe got back from theatre and she knew she had to pass the time somehow. Eilidh was slowly beginning to fall asleep in her arms. Tess brought over the toast and cheese, so Jody stood, placed Eilidh back in her pram to sleep comfortably, and then sat to eat. She finished quickly, washed her plate and then went back to the sofa.

"Tess?" She said.

"Yes sweetheart?"

"Is Sam on?" She asked.

"Yes. She was in cubicles last time I saw her. Do you need her?"

"I just want to talk to her. Can you keep an eye on Eilidh for me so that I can go do that?"

"Of course sweetie." So Jody thanked her and left the staff room. She walked to cubicles, where she found Sam standing by the nurses station. Unbeknown's to Tess, Nick or Zoe, Sam knew about Anna. Jody had told her about her ages ago whilst sleeping over at her house. It was Sam that often took Jody to visit her, often bought her flowers to leave on the grave.

"Hi Aunty Sam." Jody said, walking over to her and wrapping her into a tight embrace.

"Hey Jodes. What's up sweetie?" She asked, worried by the tears she could see in the young girl's eyes.

"I was talking to Tess... And I told her about Anna." Instantly, Sam understood.

"Oh baby." She said hugging her tighter. The poor girl just allowed the tears to flow freely, comforted in the knowledge that Sam would hold her together whilst she broke down. "Oh Jody. Sweetheart, maybe..." She sighed. "Maybe its time to tell Nick and Zoe?" She suggested. Jody just shrugged.

"I have though about it..." She started. "But that would just give them more reason to worry about my mental health." Sam sighed.

"I know, but you can hardly go on like this... All this secrecy, none of it is healthy. Now you know that as well as I do. Sweetie, I really think you should tell them, wait until Zoe is better and then sit down and have a good long chat with them. Yes they will worry, but they will also help you. You are not expected to deal with this alone!" She urged.

"I s'pose not. Sam, will you be there with me, will you be there when I tell them, please?" She begged.

"If that's where you need me, then of course, I'll be there." She said.

"Thank you Aunty Sam."

A couple of hours had passed. Jody was back in the staff room with Eilidh, Tess was on shift now, so they were on their own. Eilidh was wide awake, so Jody had her lying on the couch, surrounded by pillows for protection, and she was playing with her. The infant was smiling and giggling, which Jody found absolutely amazing. At that moment however, Nick walked in. Jody looked up from Eilidh and immediately bombarded him with questions.

"Dad! How's mum? Is she out of theatre? How did the op go? Is she okay?" Nick held up his hands to sh her.

"She's absolutely fine, she's on the ward now, awake and asking for you. Come on." He said. Gently and lovingly, she picked Eilidh up off of the couch and then followed Nick out of the staff room. He lead her up to the ward and over to see Zoe.

"Mum!" Jody exclaimed as they entered the room. She rushed over to her, and hugged her quickly.

"Jodes. Oh sweetie, hi! How are you?" Zoe asked.

"Never mind me, how are you feeling?"

"I'm absolutely fine. Has Eilidh been okay?" She asked. Carefully, Jody passed Eilidh over to Zoe, who happily wrapped her in her arms and planted a kiss on her forehead.

"She's been fine mum. She's been fed, winded, she's slept and I've changed her. You should of seen her earlier, I was tickling her, she was giggling like mad! It was adorable."

"Sounds wonderful. Thanks for doing all of that sweetie." Zoe said.

"No problem mum."
