Bat and the other guards and Rosehearts, and elders thundered into camp.

"The prey!" Bat shouted, "It's gone!" Shock filled Nightmoon's eyes.

"WHAT!"

"There was nothing left but blood stained snow." Bloom, one the youngest elders, said calmly. Nightmoon couldn't help but think back to her dream.

"Take me to it!" The alpha snapped following her warrior as he trekked out of camp, again.

"NO! No, no, no!" Nightmoon screeched as she kicked a small pile of deer bones and antlers. Hollow clanging filled the air. "NO!" Menace filled her voice, "One of the packs will pay. They hunted on Moonpack's claimed hunting ground. One of the packs had broken the sacred laws of the ancient ones. The black she-wolf was even more furious she scented the lingering smell of Starpack. She always knew that Starpack believed they could do anything, but betraying the scared laws? Stormmoon had claimed these hunting grounds for Moonpack fair and square. The land was theirs until Shortlight ended. Fueled by fury, Nightmoon let deep ringing howl. She swung her head to Bat, eyes flashing. "They will pay. Let vengeance ring through the forest!"

The walk home had been quiet. Nightmoon began to strategize battle formulas and extra patrols. Palm and Stone would have to speed up training, but she could take that into her own paws. She would have time, and Brook was good with younger wolves, perhaps she could train them. And Leopard would be joining the elders soon; perhaps she would enjoy training the elders pups as a more relaxing duty. Extra patrols would be necessary, hunting and otherwise. There would be a need for messengers. Four and they would need to find Starpack. No one fully knew where they had settled when the packs switched hunting grounds for Shortlight. Skypack might know… Perhaps. She was still in lost in thoughts when she pulled into camp. She turned to Bat,

"Thank you, I know you've done a lot today, I'd like you to do one more thing. Please fetch Light, Jasper, and Midnight and send them to me, I'll be in front of Cliff rock. The brute nodded and stalked off and Nightmoon went the opposite direction. She sat down calmly in front of the tall rock. As the three warriors walked up to her and sat down, Nightmoon stood up assertively.

"You asked for us, Alpha?" Jasper dipped his head ever so slightly to his older sister.

"Yes, thank you for keeping close by. It appears that the rumors are true and all the meat is gone." She paused and watched the shock spread across the three wolves faces. "Hard to believe yes, but the stench of Starpack hung thick in the air."

"Those arrogant fleabags!" Midnight spat, a growl rising in his throat. Quietly, Nightmoon noticed Light flexing her claws, and digging them deep in the ground. Jasper seemed calm but in his blue eyes, she could practically see the thoughts racing behind them.

"It is awful and because of this, I wish to hold the half-moon gathering early. It shall be held in three nights, when the moonlight is the strongest. I wish for you to deliver to each of the message to each of the other Packs. Light, please send the message to Skypack, and Jasper please accompany her to find out Starpack is currently made their hunting grounds. When the information is retrieved please take the word to Featherstar. And finally Midnight, I would like for you to bring word to Icesun about the change in plans about the Half-moon meeting."

Taking in a deep breath, Nightmoon murmured her thanks and sent the messengers on their ways. She gazed up in the sky and watched the clouds float by and sent her thoughts up to MysticPack. Well, Stormmoon I've made my move. What now?"
