I know that this story hasn't gotten much attention since I've published it, which is at least partially due to my lack of updates, however it is also do to you the readers. So please give it a chance and REVIEW DAMMIT!
Anyway, as mentioned last chapter this one will be from my Oc's, Mike's, point of view, you should find his views interesting at least.
I can honestly say that few things surprise me anymore, what with having friends like Jack. And while I do have other friends Jack has been the one I've been hanging out with lately. For some reason I've always found myself with friends that stand outside the normal social standings, even among their own kind. Jack for instance considers himself evil and under society's rules for intensive purposes is, However saying Jack is pure evil is ridiculous. Sure he's morally ambiguous, and he would double cross anyone he doesn't see as loyal or useful, most of the Time. But pure evil is a very hard thing to come by, the only examples I can think of are Hannibal Roy Bean, and Chase Young. And that only because one was a demon and the other drank the Lou Ming loan soup, hardly impressive.
The point being that despite his claims Jack was more Neutral-chaotic-darkness than evil. And thus he stood out among his so called evil peers as someone they could manipulate and be used to their likening, Which is why Wuya showing up didn't surprise me, she's the one who call upon Jack more often then not. Some strange sense of comfort they both got working together do to familiarity or whatever.
I Notice her first and alert Jack, this is where he gets all excited to explain the modifications we recently made to the Jack-bots. I of course helped as I know quite a bit about both engineering and magic, all types of magic not just Chinese magic, for some reason everybody from both sides of this little conflict failed to realize that there were other means of getting what they want besides the Shen gong wu, except of course for Jack. While Wuya isn't all that interested, I can see that she's at least mildly impressed, which is more than I can say for some of Jack's other colleagues. While I add an off hand comment about how we stole the necessary materials for the modifications I roll up the blueprints we had been working on, While Wuya was unlikely to understand them it was still to dangerous to leave them lying around in plain sight. While I did that Wuya mentioned that she wanted to talk to Jack alone, which I could tell meant it was serious and made the excuse of being hungry, which I was, but that didn't change the fact that I was going to listen in first.
How you ask? Well you see, while Jack made sure the Basement lair was sound proof, I had in fact installed electronic bugs into the system. Which would normally be flushed out with Jack's security measures, but I had in fact hooked up the bugs right into the security system, thus allowing me to watch and listen to exactly what was happening in that room. Jack of course didn't know about this, everyone had to have their little secrets after all.
The Conversation had started and apparently it was more serious than I thought and any of the sarcastic humor I usually heard come out of Wuya's mouth wasn't there which surprised me. What's this about a medical condition that Jack was responsible for, wait she's about to reveal it.
W..What did s... Sh.. She just say?!
At this point I turned off my surveillance device and numbly walked to the bathroom down the hall. When I got there I washed my face with cold water. Earlier I had thought to myself that nothing could surprise me, I was wrong cause Wuya, Evil witch who wanted to take over the world, and had, twice, was pregnant with my friend Jack's child, who fainted when he found out. Jackie had of course told me that he had slept with Wuya, he would brag about that sort of thing. Jack was going to be a father, now that was a laugh.
I had known Jack a long time, since we were kids in fact. Jack had just turned 18 and was about to be a father. I myself would turn 18 in just a couple weeks, man this was weird, not that I was going to pass up the chance to be an honorary uncle. And if things didn't quite go as me and Jack had planned, then this kid was going to really be needing an uncle.
Ae I looked in the mirror and saw the jagged scar running down the left side of my face, I couldn't help but think that things were going to change, drastically. And if this kid inherited even half of it's fathers brains and it's mothers magic, and their combined drive for world domination, Then the Xiaolin are going to really have something to worry about. At this I just laughed and thought, Nothing was ever gonna the same again.
Please review and tell me what you think. Hopefully next chapter won't take nearly as long as this one.
