Disclaimer: I do not own KH. This is nearly AU though it's not; I simply had my own ideas about how Mickey and Riku and some of the other Wielders only use one keyblade most of the time, but the others change theirs all the time.

It had been such a shock the first time he saw them use another's keyblade. They had been training, and Ven had lost his practice blade. Aqua must have said something, for Ventus grabbed Terra's blade from his hand and rushed the girl. Never had he seen, or even heard of someone able to use more than one blade, and the blond youth had already briefly summoned his own blade just a few weeks before for the first time.
Two weeks later, when Aqua discovered that different keychains actually changed the keyblade in her hand, Eraqus wondered if something important was happening with the keyblades, but it never worked for him when he tried. So then he wondered if something important was happening with his apprentices. Something that meant they would need all these changing abilities. The three of them were close, and there had never been so many apprentices working together at the same time. What was coming that they needed so many Masters? So many Wielders? What was coming, that he felt he was not a part of?
The three were growing so strong, some nearly Masters themselves, and were interchanging and borrowing each other's keyblades so fast he could barely keep up. The briefly thought of requiring them to only use their practice blades, blades of nothing more than wood and belief. He could almost see them blending together, their destinies becoming one. Each change they made made them go faster, blend more, spinning out of his reach.
And then, in one tragic instant, they were no longer his three apprentices, and they were no longer on his world.
