Mirror - August 15, 2012

If seemed that Kaoru and her were more than just alike, they were siblings. Two sides of a coin, a wavering mirror. She was the girl who became a boy, and he was the boy who became a girl. Their same faces flushed with the same blood. My dear sister, he called her. Chizuru only gapped at the knowledge she had a brother.

But even now they were separated, kept on opposite sides if the coin. Her with the Shinsengumi, him with the Toma. Tonight was a rare night for them to meet. How could they be family kept apart like this. They barely knew each other, would they continue to drift even farther apart?

Okita stood at her side, same as he had before. How much had changed since their last meeting? She - he - was still a suspect, she still hadn't found her no-longer-a father. But now they were demons.

She thought she understood the word as Kaoru held out his hand with a glittering blood red vial in his palm.
