Oh god I finished it. Finally. Last week of term is never, ever fun. Anyway, here's your weekly dose of angst and bits of really bad fluff

What did you find?

Considering where they were when you last communicated with them, I'm pretty sure they're in one of these apartment complexes

Gamma sent York a map, a part of it outlined in red. The surrounding street names were unfamiliar.

Is there any connection to the place Tex and Carol found?

I'm currently looking that up. I'll text you back in approximately an hour.

York pocketed his phone, slightly more relaxed now Gamma had actually found something.

"How's it going?"

Carolina had managed to sneak up on him, causing York to jump with surprise and almost fall off his chair.

"Holy crap please don't do that."

She smirked as she sat down, and York couldn't help but smile. "How are you?"

"Well, I'm finally making progress on the South and Wyoming thing."

"I mean, how are you, specifically."

No, York wasn't hugely touched by the simple fact Carolina was asking about him. Of course his heart wasn't currently racing with joy at that thought.

"Uh... Fine. What about you?"

"Bored, actually. I usually hang out with South, so..."

Awkwardness settled in rather quickly, and York stared downwards in shame. They -she- will always blame me.

"Anyway. I came to ask for something."

"Oh, what?"

"Can you promise me C.T. won't get hurt by anyone from Freelancer?"

"Uh... Carol, you hate C.T."

A moment passed before she responded. "She's South's best friend, traitor or not. I feel... I owe it to her that if-when she comes back, South won't be alone."

"She is a traitor though. I can't just tell everyone to specifically not hurt her."

"Please, York."

"Ugh, ok, fine. But no promises with Epsilon."

"Thank you, York." She kissed him on the cheek before she left, not looking back to see York frozen at his seat, gently tracing the spot she'd kissed.

"Sister! How are you?"

"Fine. What are you guys doing here?"

Donut shrugged. "Skipped school when we heard."

"Ok. Um... Is Simmons going to move?"

Simmons had frozen in the doorway. He was clearly completely petrified.

"Simmons, it's ok. He fell asleep half an hour ago, but he's fine. Just resting. Totally out of the coma, I promise."

Simmons nodded gratefully at Sister's words and sat next to Donut, a lot less stressed. The three sat in silence for a while, and Donut struggled to think of something to say.

"So, uh... Kai, I haven't seen you at school."

"Yeah... Kinda wagged for the past two days."

"Why?" Sister didn't reply. "Apparently Tucker was staying with you..."

"Yeah, um, I was kinda upset about Grif. He kept me company."

Donut reached over and hugged her gently. "You could have called me. I didn't realise."

She shrugged. "It's ok."

Donut let go gently, a little upset and guilty that he'd forgotten about her. Also -"What's on your wrist?"

"What? Nothing!"

Even Simmons, who had hardly been paying attention, could tell she was lying. "What did you do?"

Sister looked down in shame. "I- I didn't do it."

"You cut yourself again?"

"No!" Donut snorted in disbelief and Simmons blankly stared at her. "I-it was Tucker."

"Tucker?" Simmons always managed to say Tucker's name with a large amount of hate.

"Yeah. He.. uh, he wanted to hurt Grif."

"So he hurt you?"

"He... wanted to make him think I'd start self-harming again."

"What a fucking asshole," Simmons growled.

"Why would he do that though?" Donut muttered, confused. Sure, Tucker wasn't on good terms with Grif, but Donut couldn't see Tucker going that far just to hurt him.

"Because he's a jerk," answered Simmons. Sister, did he hurt you any other way?"

"No."

"Sure?"

"Yes!"

"Whad're you guys talkin' bout?"

"Grif!" Donut was pretty sure Simmons just teleported to Grif's side.

"Hey Simmons." Grif seemed half asleep still.

"You ok?"

"Yup. Anesthetic is epic, y'know."

Simmons and Grif continued to chat, whilst Donut looked nervously from Sister, whose face was still red, and back to Grif, who was obliviously cheery.

Tucker was an asshole. That was a given. But he'd never heard a bad word about him from Sister, and even without Grif's protective presence, Sister was a good judge of men she went out with. But maybe that explained why she seemed so upset now.

"She kissed him. Seriously?"

"What?"

Church pointed towards the table usually occupied by the Freelancers, though only North and York sat there, and at different ends.

"Carolina kissed York?"

"Yeah."

Tex raised an eyebrow, then returned to her lunch.

"What?"

"You're way too paranoid Church. York isn't going to do anything."

"He nearly got her killed once!"

"You've told me that story a hundred fucking times. What happened? Carolina got stuck in a firefight and York fucked up his eye when saving her? Totally York's fault."

"York sent her in there. Look, if he hadn't asked Carolina to join his stupid gang in the first place, she wouldn't have gotten in danger."

"Is that why you were so upset that I joined?"

"...no."

"You hesitated."

"I did not fucking hesitate."

"Why you care so much?"

"I don't."

"You were just watching your sister from across the cafeteria and got mad when some guy kissed her. Either you've got weird incestual jealousy, or you care."

"Oh fuck, gross. Please don't even go there. Anyway. It's not your business."

"Well, then why do you care so much about me joining?"

"Uh... York's an asshole-"

"He's an idiot. But he's not a bad guy. I mean, if anyone's going to be the asshole here it's you."

"Well clearly you fucking prefer him."

"Oh my god you are jealous."

"No I'm not!"

"Ok, can you just give me a straight fucking answer? Why do you care about me joining Freelancer?" Church frowned. Clearly he didn't have an answer. "What do you want, Church? For me to only ever do shit you're ok with?"

"Tex, come on. It's not that."

"Well then. Call me when you have an answer." She stood up, lunch forgotten.

"Tex. Please-" She glared at him before walking off. "Allison!"

It wasn't her real name that made her turn. It was Caboose, who had been sitting silently whilst they'd argument. He'd crashed over his chair in his haste to stand up.

"Allison. You're Allison." He was staring at her with absolute terror.

"Caboose, what are you going on about?"

She stepped forward, and despite the table between them, Caboose still jumped away. "They wanted you! They hurt me because of you!" He turned to point at Church, who just looked confused as hell. "Did you know? Were you there... I don't remember. Why can't I remember?" His voice was more than a little hysterical at this point.

"Uh... What's going on?" Church asked Tex.

"I don't know. Where the hell is Sheila?"

"I think she's on lunch break. Staff rooms, maybe?"

Tex nodded and started sprinting. Caboose seemed even more freaked about this. "I- I have to go."

"Caboose, wait!" He was faster than Church. There was no use trying to catch him.

The O'Malleys' usual table had recently become a lot more populated. With Doc had come Wash and Maine, and occasionally C.T.

"Maine, may I ask you something?"

The ex-Freelancer nodded at Delta.

"During your time in Freelancer, did you hear anything about a gang called Insurrection?"

Maine shook his head.

"How long ago did you leave? Exactly?"

"January... seventh? Not too sure."

"Eighth." Wash corrected automatically, before blushing slightly and returning to his food.

"So over three months ago... Ok."

"Who's the Insurrection?" C.T. asked from across the table.

"A gang. They have something to do with Freelancer, and Wyoming."

"Wait, they're the ones that have South and Wyoming?"

"How did you know that?"

"Carolina told me when South didn't show up that she and Wyoming had been captured."

"Why would she tell you?" Wash interjected.

C.T. shrugged. "'Cause we used to be friends, maybe. Or she just didn't want me to try to find out on my own."

"Did she tell you anything else?"

"No. Why are you asking about these guys, anyway?"

"York gave Gamma a large amount of information concerning the Insurrection and Freelancer. He said it involved Wyoming."

"Do you still have the info?"

"Yes."

"Can I see it? It might give me a chance to find South."

Delta paused for a moment. Should he trust her? She was, after all, still friends with a member of Freelancer. And probably dangerous herself. However, Delta couldn't imagine C.T. trying to use this information against him or his siblings. She seemed friendly enough with most of them. "Very well. I've copied it onto multiple devices, in case Gamma tries to erase the data from my computer."

"Thanks Dee."

"Caboose, what the hell's wrong?" Caboose had been sprinting full on from the direction of the school, and had nearly crashed into Tucker.

"Allison. She's- Church is- I don't"

"Ok, ok, calm down. Slowly."

He paused for a minute to catch his breath, clearly stressed. "Church and Tex were arguing, and he called her Allison."

"That's her name."

"I know it's her name!" He yelled, stepping forward and forcing Tucker to jump back for fear of being hit by a not-exactly-sane Caboose. "It is her fault I was hurt. They wanted Allison, so they hurt me."

"Who hurt you?" Tucker wasn't too sure if he believed anything Caboose was saying, but he didn't want to be responsible for Caboose going nuts if he could help it.

"I don't know. They made my head funny."

"The attack that gave you Aphasia?"

"Yes! Afasa!"

"So the people that hurt you, they were after Tex?"

"Maybe? Or Tex wanted them to hurt me, or it was Tex hurting me. I don't remember!"

"Shh, calm down. It's ok if you don't remember. I won't hurt you. We'll figure it out, ok?" Caboose nodded, almost in tears. "Now, do you want to go to Sheila or-"

"I do not want to go back. I am scared of being near Tex and Church."

"Oh. Well, do you want to go home?"

"That would be nice. Freckles will protect me. Can you come too?"

"Come home with you and stay with your huge fucking killer dog?"

The moron nodded sadly. "It is ok. Thank you anyway Tucker."

"Ugh. Why do you have to be so good at making me guilty?" Tucker muttered. Fuck it. He didn't really want to go back to school anyway.

I hope you guys like this. Certainly didn't write most of it in two days what are you talking about?
