Alright, so a quick info thingy. In case you haven't noticed, I use both the names 'Gary' and 'Gamma' for the A.I. He was born with the name gamma, but changed it because he didn't want to be involved with his siblings. Most the school call him Gary, but his siblings and their friends typically call him Gamma. Hope that clears things up.

"I assume there's a reason you brought Omega's brother along."

"Epsilon, shut up. We need Gary."

"What for? You have the location."

"Unless you would rather remain here during the mission, you should probably stop complaining," Gary replied cooly.

"Ok uh… back to the actual mission," York cut in awkwardly. Epsilon turned away from Gary with the glimmer of a grin that would seem sane on anyone else. Gary just glared at Epsilon in silent fury. "Obviously, we have to go tonight. We don't want to give the Insurrection time to prepare themselves, and, of course, don't want to risk South or Wyoming getting hurt."

"So are we all going?" Carolina asked.

"No. Myself, North and Epsilon will go into the building. Tex will be driving and be ready to help in case. Carolina and Gamma will stay behind and-"

"No. I'm not staying here," Carolina spat viciously.

"The Insurrection have seen you, Carol. We won't have a chance of getting in there without them knowing if you come with us."

"Then let me be backup. If anyone's gonna stay behind because the Insurrection knows them, it should be Tex!"

"Carolina! You're staying here, ok!" Carolina paused for a moment, clearly surprised by York's outburst. After a few seconds she nodded shakily.

"Will we have weapons?" Tex asked.

"I've got one semi-auto. That's the best I can get without looking suspicious." Tex, Epsilon and North nodded, while Gamma and Carolina watched quietly, the latter scowling. York tried not to feel guilty about that. "Anyway. Here's the plan."

"Great. Just fucking great."

It didn't take Church long to work out why Carolina wasn't home. And the answer both annoyed and worried him. When Tex didn't pick up his call, Church became even more pissed.

They are going to get themselves fucking killed and there's nothing I can fucking do about it.

His dad was out drinking or something, who knew. Who cared?

"Am I the only sane one in this goddamn family?" Humorless laughter followed his question. His family was fucking insane. Everyone in the Church family had a death wish of some sort.

Don't think like that. He cringed inwardly at his own traitorous thoughts. He didn't have a death wish. Everyone but him in the family did.

Maybe he should call Tucker. See if he wanted to hang out- make up for not seeing Tucker for a day and a half. Yeah, that was a reasonable excuse.

As long as he wasn't alone.

Tex purposely drove past the apartment that supposedly held Wyoming and South, stopping a block over. Once she'd driven off again to circle the area, York handed small headsets to Epsilon and North before putting his on.

"How was the drive?" A heavily-sarcastic voice asked from the speaker.

"Uneventful, Carolina. What's Gamma doing?

"No idea. Hacking of some sort.

"Tell him I'm trying to access the security cameras of the apartment." Gamma's voice was faint, but audible.

"He's trying to hack the security cameras."

"I heard. Tell me if he does it." The speakers fell silent, and York, North and Epsilon began to make their way towards the apartment. Night time and dark clothes provided them with good cover, though York was still nervous.

"What level are these guys on again?" North asked, when the building was within sight.

"Second. The room should be right in front of the staircase."

"A good position for them to hold a defence," Epsilon noted.

"Not if they don't know we're coming."

"Genius," muttered Epsilon dryly.

"Shut up," North said before York could, earning a glare from Epsilon.

The three walked across the street. York focused on seeming cheery and not at all like he was terrified for his life, hoping his scarred eye wouldn't make anyone suspicious. Some guy was standing outside the entrance smoking, though York couldn't get a good visual on his face due to the darkness.

They entered the building silently. Inside was concrete and graffiti, a short hallway ending in a steel staircase. York's right hand brushed against the gun inside his pocket, relieving his terror slightly.

"You're not screaming, so I guess it's going well." Tex's voice through the speakers nearly caused York to actually scream.

"Don't do that," he hissed.

"We're inside," North muttered, notably calmer than York.

"Gamma reckons he's getting close to accessing the cameras."

"Should we wait?"

"No," Tex answered. "The more you wait the more chance they have of discovering you. You're gonna have to try and get inside now."

"Alright."

"You ready?" North asked.

"Nope."

"Let's just go," Epsilon muttered, a bare knife already in his hand.

York went ahead, gun hidden but ready to use just in case. North was right behind him, determined to get South out. Epsilon brought up the rear, watching their backs in case one of the Insurrection showed up from outside. The second floor was much like the first. Room number six was right ahead. York took a moment to listen for any voices inside.

"York, hurry up and pick the lock." North's tone was exasperated.

York nodded and began fiddling with a pick. His gloves, which erased the risk of any fingerprints, made it a bit harder. Which meant that the door remained closed when a weird kind of giggling started from the staircase.

A creepy, smiley-masked guy was watching York and North, giggling as he aimed his gun. York had just enough time to think oh shit oh shit before Epsilon, who had been hiding on the other side of the staircase, jumped onto the man, hit the arm holding the gun downwards, and shredded his shoulder.

The screaming was definitely loud enough to alert the entire building. Epsilon ran towards the two with his bloodied knife in one hand, and the gun in the other. "Open the door, hurry up."

"What's going on?"

Epsilon or North replied to Tex's question. York pushed it out of his mind and returned his attention to the lock. Seconds later, it was open. North was inside first, brandishing a gun that York would have guessed had been given to him by Epsilon, were York not beyond thinking much more than get them out and don't let anyone die.

The room directly beyond the door looked like a lounge; a tv was playing dimly across from an old couch. Unfortunately for the three, it wasn't empty.

"Who the fuck are you guys?" The man looked to be about twenty, and had a metal prosthetic replacing one arm. York acted on instinct, forgetting his gun and throwing several blows in quick succession at his chest and stomach, making sure to avoid the metal arm.

"That was pretty good," Tex complimented from behind him once the Insurrection member was knocked out cold.

"Holy shit what are you doing here?" He yelped in surprise.

"Epsilon said you guys might need help. Any idea where Wyoming and South might be?"

"I don't know, but you guys better be fast. Two people heading inside, one of them is definitely that mohawk guy I saw." Carolina said.

"I feel horrible."

"Why?"

"I should have known. Donut is really upset and it's my fault."

"It's not wrong of you not to return his feelings."

"I know... But Sigma said he's liked me for ages, and I never noticed. And then I rubbed having a boyfriend in his face - right after his friend ended up in a coma."

"Are you regretting agreeing to go out with me?" Omega smirked, despite the fact Doc couldn't see his face.

"N-no! Of course not!"

"Don't blame yourself. Donut will move on."

"I still feel bad."

Doc felt bad about everything, Omega thought, rolling his eyes.

When South heard a terrifyingly pained scream, her first thought was not 'rescue'. It was more along the lines of 'oh my fucking god there's a murderer here and it's going to kill us all.' She didn't have much time to panic before the door of the room they were trapped in swung open, and the lights flicked on.

"None of you make a sound, or I'll shoot." Despite the fact South was almost blinded by the light; which was a stark contrast from the almost complete darkness they'd been kept in for the past few days, she recognised the speaker. One of the Insurrection, nicknamed Sniper.

"What is happening?" Wyoming had somehow stayed calm.

"I told you to be quiet," he growled whilst locking the door. "I don't care what the boss says, if you attract attention I will shut you up forcibly." South decided to just do as he said. Being shot didn't sound too fun.

Several minutes passed before South heard a muffled male voice from the other side of the door.

"Yor-" Wyoming cut off when Sniper aimed the gun at his head.

If it's York, he'll pick the lock and probably get shot by Sniper.

Another muffled voice. It was quieter than York's but far more recognisable to South.

"South! If you're near the door, get away now!" North yelled, leaving enough time for her and Wyoming to move to the side before bullets began flying through the door, straight at Sniper.

"Rescue's here," Wyoming noted dryly once North ran out of ammo and the ringing in her ears stopped.

"I noticed," South muttered, staring at the very bloody corpse by her feet.

North, Epsilon, York and Tex rushed into the room, the latter angrily yelling at North. "Are you a fucking idiot? What if they were tied up, or the guard had immobilised them, or they were too hurt to move?"

North ignored Tex in favour of running to his twin. "You're ok."

"I'm fine. Don't hug me - I know you were going to."

"Yeah, save the celebration for later," Tex muttered. She studied one of the walls in the rooms, which had boards hastily nailed to it; most likely covering windows. "Help me get these off."

"Why?" York asked.

"According to Carolina, the Insurrection leader's on his way. And thanks to North, this place will be filled with cops soon."

"What did I do?"

"In case you didn't notice, guns make a lot of noise." She muttered, glaring at North. "Anyway. Let's get out of here."

"-Shit, Smiley." Someone swore from outside the room.

"Move it!" Tex hissed, already pulling on a board. All six of them rushed to make an exit. No glass lay behind the wood. Which wasn't that surprising for such a run-down apartment.

There was barely enough space for Epsilon -the smallest- to fit through when the leader found them.

"What the fuck did you do to my men, Alison?"

Tex smiled silently, somehow unfazed by the gun pointed at her. "I didn't do anything myself. Why'd you kidnap my friends?"

North, York and Wyoming were all watching the conversation in silence. Epsilon had vanished, and South couldn't work out where he'd gone.

"You're seriously trying to tell me these idiots are your friends?"

"We're not idiots!" South growled.

The leader smirked. "All four of you couldn't fight your way out of this. That kid who ran off had the right idea."

Fucking Epsilon. Never hesitated to run from danger.

"All four of them mightn't be able to beat you, but I could," Tex muttered.

"You sound pretty brave for someone with a gun pointed at you. Dumb and brave, same as Alpha."

Who's Alpha? South wondered.

"Who's Alpha?" North asked.

"She never told you?" The leader chuckled. "Alpha was her brother. Alpha and little Beta, the best of the Insurrection."

"You need to stop talking," Tex whispered. She was, surprisingly, bone pale.

He grinned. "Why? I'm having so much fun. All these old memories."

It was at that moment South -and the rest of the Freelancers- noticed Epsilon; a second before he plunged his knife into the leader's side. Seconds afterwards the gun was in his hand, and he was walking towards them with his familiar, insane yay-I-inflicted-pain grin. South was actually kinda grateful to see it.

"Let's go," he muttered over the leader's screams.

Phew. Done. This was… different. Who else is excited for season 12 tomorrow?
