Chapter 13

Luke said,

" Camp Half-Blood?"

" No, Saint Louis Missouri, that was my home and that is what is says on the map."

" Alright let's go."

After a few hours the love birds where driving with Luke and I in the back. I had my head rested on Luke's shoulder he was humming some song that calmed me down by a million degrees. After what felt like forever we decided to pull over into a McDonalds because we haven't eaten real food days, even though their food isn't much more real than ours. Jess bolted for the door with Nico following. Luke said,

" You think they're hungry?"

" No not at all."

By the time we got inside I could hear Jess's orders which consisted of a Big Mac, a large fries, a pack of apple slices, a strawberry shake, and a bottled water. I said,

" Jess I think it would be wise if we can save as much money as possible."

" I don't care I am hungry, so deal with it."

" Fine."

I walk up to the counter and say,

" I'll have a grilled chicken sandwich, a strawberry shake, and a bottled water."

Luke said.

" I'll have the same thing as my girl."

The guy behind the counter looked at us like we were elephants or something. But he dropped it because the bill wound up being around forty dollars or so. I turned to Luke and said,

" Why don't you guys go find us a seat and I'll get the food."

" Ren, I don't like leaving you alone."

" Luke. We are in a fucking McDonalds I'll be okay."

" Fine."

He and the others turned away and headed for table when Luke spun around and kissed me on the lips. He whispered in my ear,

" I almost forgot, I love you."

" Why would you forget or say that at all?"

" Because every time I leave you alone I'll say it and you will be thinking about me."

" I love you too. And I won't forget."

At that he kissed me one more time and left to sit with my friend and dead head. I still haven't quite got to the point to call Nico a friend. After a little while a man came up to order, he looked familiar to me, but not in a good way, not in a good way at all. His hair was the color of dirt stained with blood, his arms and hands where massive with the creepiest pale color covering him that was his skin. And a scar that went from the bottom of his chin that cut across his nose, across his left eye and ended at his hair line. I know who he, and I know the scar that I caused. It is Rick the last foster father I had and the last human person I tried to kill. At that moment he turned his head in my direction and knew who I was without even blinking. A sinister smile creeped across his face and he said,

" Nice to see you again Ren. You want to pick up where we left off?"

Then he started reaching for his phone. I grabbed our food and ran to the car, I could barely hear Luke calling my name until he, Jess, and Nico got in the car. I locked the doors and started driving to the only safe place I know, the warehouse, the last place I had hid in St. Louis. Luke put his hand on my shoulder and said,

" Ren, what is wrong."

" He saw me. He is going to kill me."

With an angered and protected tone he said,

" Who is going to kill you?"

" Rick."

Jess screamed,

" Who is Rick?"

" Someone I tried to kill."

At that point I stopped listening because Jess went ballistic, clearly she didn't know I was capable of killing people. We got inside to the warehouse and Jess yelled,

" WHY WOULD YOU TRY TO KILL SOMEONE REN!"

" Because he tried to kill me first Jess!"

" Why would he try to kill you?"

" Because I found and saw something that was to him worth trying to kill me over.'

" What was it Ren?"

" Jess I found their bodies."

" Whose bodies?"

" Other kids bodies, he killed kids for fun, and I found out."

" Did any one ever find out?"

" No. He is a grade A psychopath who likes killing kids, and the sick part is he is a foster parent and no one but me knows what he is."

" Did you tell anyone."

" No he tried to kill me it would be his word against mine."

" Does he…"

" Yeah, he still wants to kill me."

Luke laced his fingers into mine and said,

" What do we do?"

" We find the next titan and get that plate piece."

" How? Everyone is looking for you?"

" No everyone is looking for us, we need to change our looks. Luke can you go steal some hair dye and new clothes for all of us, it's time for some make overs."
