Chapter Two

"Someone pinch me quickly," Miroku demanded holding out his arm. He was trembling from head to toe as his blue-gray eyes took in his swelled belly. He had already pressed his palm against his stomach and felt the distinctive kick of a child. "Kami quickly someone do it!"

Quickly Shippo pounced on the monk's arm and rolled up his arm before covering the poor flesh and pinches.

"Ah! I meant once you little runt," growled Miroku shaking the fox demon, who clung tightly to his arm.

"Kagome he's making me dizzy," Shippo whined out tearfully wrapping his arm even tighter around Miroku's. The monk began to wind his arm around like a windmill faster and faster hoping with the right momentum the little bugger would just fly off but it was nothing doing.

Finally spent Miroku let his arm fall to his side and began to pant from the slight exertion. Shippo quickly let go of Miroku's arm only to hold it again feeling slightly tipsy from spinning around and around.

"Look what you did to poor Shippo," cried out Kagome before she scooped up the poor kitsune.

"What I did to him? Look what he's done to me? I might not look it but I bruise easily," Miroku frown and pointed at his obviously bruised arm.

"If you bruise so easily why do you always pick a fight with Sango?" Shippo countered as he stuck his tongue out at the frustrating monk. "And might I add recover easily you perverted monk."

"You just hate me don't you," Miroku bit his bottom lip, tears filling his eyes.

"What the hell! Now see what you did Shippo," sighed Sango heavily. She cradled Miroku's head and began to rock him gently back and forth. "Shh, shh. Shippo didn't mean those nasty words he said," she cooed gently to the monk.

"It's this thing isn't it?" Inuyasha glared accusingly at his belly. "These things got some kind of mind control or is a parasite feeding on its host. It's already turned Miroku into a sissy but I won't allow that," growled Inuyasha in determination and pulled out his Tetsusiaga.

"NO YOU DIMWIT YOU CANT' DO THAT!" cried out a voice from outside the campsite.

"Who's there?" Kagome called out cautiously as she began to load of her arrow.

"Wait I didn't say knock, knock first. Okay let's start over again. Knock, knock," the voice said brightly.

"Um… whose there?" Kagome called out attentively as she began to make her way to the voice.

"Julie," called out the voice eagerly.

"Julie who?" Kagome said automatically before she threw back some branches expecting the voice to be there.

"Julie right behind you," giggled the voice and prodded Kagome gently in the back. The little fey watched in amusement as Kagome's arrow launched out from her bow and whizzed off to Kami who knows where.

"You scared me," cried out Kagome whirling around to scold the little girl.

"You were going to shoot me. Why?" The little girl tilted her head curiously to the side and looked up at her with big eyes the color of new leaves. She looked like she could be no more than seven with a body straight up and down like a beanpole.

Half done braids littered her red head showing what she had been doing for the few hours waiting for her surprise to be discovered. The fairy dug her toes into the warm earth before popping them out and wiggling them around.

"Better question is why you don't want Inuyasha to kill whatever's in his belly," Sango called out from her spot by Miroku.

"Because he's pregnant," Julie said brightly and began to skip around the camp. She giggled showing a row of perfect pearl white teeth before turning around and doing a cartwheel.

"But guys can't get pregnant… right?" Shippo looked around in confusion before lifting his shirt wondering if he was pregnant as well. "Phew I'm safe," he sighed in relief at his relatively flat tummy.

"How can you be sure that they are pregnant?" asked Kagome looking at Julie in alarm.

"Cause they were by the jewel shards," Julie stopped moving around to nod her head wisely as she stroked her chin. "Any male who is of rightful birthing age and is found in close proximity of a jewel shard will have a baby."

"Did you do this you little freak? Did you make me like a bloated whale?" growled Inuyasha and used the Tetsusaiga as a lever to stand. When he stood he started to wheeze before making his way quickly to the little faerie, his Tetsusiaga rose high over his head.

"You cannot hurt the chosen one. So you have angered the monkey god," tsked the little girl shaking her head in disappointment. She had skipped quickly back from Inuyasha before hiding behind Kagome's leg.

"Who the hell is the monkey god?" asked Inuyasha while Miroku was going over in his head if there was any monkey god.

"It is he, the almighty Lord Ringo! Tremble in his presence," Julie demanded as she pulled the thing out of from her dress. She walked confidently towards Inuyasha before shoving the thing as close to the hanyou's face as she could get.

"It's a stuffed monkey," Inuyasha said dryly then snatched the toy away from the faerie.

"Give it back now or you'll gain the wrath of the almighty…" but she trailed off when she saw Inuyasha yanked the head off the stuffed monkey before handing it back to her.

"Oh no! What did you do?" Julie's eyes widen in surprise as she tried desperately to put its head back on. Then she glared angry green eyes at Inuyasha a green aura surrounding her little frame.

"Don't mind him," Kagome laughed nervously and petted Inuyasha's head. "He's just a harmless doggy. Woof, woof."

"Wench who are you calling a—" but he soon was cut off with Kagome's hand against his mouth.

"I did this because you and Sango wanted them to see how it felt to be pregnant," said Julie proudly. She raised her chin in the air and crossed her little arms across her chest. Defiance shown in her eyes as well as a proud smile crept to her lips.

"Julie though it does seem fun to see the boy's getting a taste of their own medicine it is best that you turn them back," Kagome looked at her with pleading eyes.

"Why should I?" Julie looked at the girls in amusement before springing up to land on her high perch on a tree branch. "I think they look perfectly fine this way," the little girl nodded her head happily.

"They do not!" Sango howled in outrage before she hugged her houshi-sama who broke out in fresh tears again. "No, no sweetie I wasn't yelling at you and of course I don't think you look fat."

"Details, details. Soon you won't even remember this conversation," a mischievous smile crept onto the little fairy's lips.

"What do you mean?" asked Kagome cautiously not liking this feeling of doom creeping over her. "And what are you anyway?"

"I'm a fairy don't you see the ears," she fingered a pointed ear proudly.

"But where are the wings? Aren't fairy's supposed to have wings?" Shippo questioned looking suspiciously at the little girl.

"Not all fairy's do," scowled Julie to the little kit. "Besides we don't wear them unless on special occasion. And well the reason you might not remember this conversation is because fairies don't actually like to be known that they exist. So we have a way of letting people forget how the problem started and accept it as a part of life," she shrugged her shoulders as if that was firmly out of her hands. "I mean that's how you people easily accept changelings."

"Well then you can fix the problem can't you? Make it go away right?" Sango asked desperately.

"I… I can't actually fix the problem even if I wanted to…" trailed off Julie looking away from them.

"WHAT!" Everyone screeched in the campsite that could form word except Kiylala, who could only mew in protest at being awakened by such a noise.

"I… well you see my uncle heard of what I did and grounded me," she sighed plucking at the sleeve skirt of her dress.

"Then what's with the green energy swirling around you when I pissed you off a few minutes ago?" Inuyasha asked suspiciously trying to sniff out her lie.

"That's power comes on instinct like a backup. Like if I found myself tapped out of powers and I find my life in danger or I really need it will spring to my fingertips. But only then

"Then let me put your life in danger," grumbled Inuyasha and pushed Kagome roughly away to attack Julie.

"I see so the doggy wants to play," the faerie clapped her hands together a solemn look falling over her face. And with that sound two things happen. A wave of green energy wrapped around Inuyasha and the fairy disappeared.

"Where the hell did she go," grouched Inuyasha whirling around only to stare face to tail with his new appendage. "CAUSE SHE'S GOING TO DIE!"

"Oh my god that is so cute you have a tail," Kagome couldn't help but gush only to receive a withering look from Inuyasha. "I mean how awful," she scrunched up her face to look outrage before it slowly tuned into a smile again. "Can I pet it?"

"Don't even try it," hissed Inuyasha crossing his arm across his chest.

A MILE AWAY FROM THEM

Little hands rubbed together as a small smile crept onto petal soft lips. "And now I must visit the others," she whispered excitedly before disappearing in a puff of green mist.

To be continued…

A/N: Hey, this is your longtime authoress Simply Hopeless here. I've been on since 2003 and I'm thinking about hanging up my keyboard for good. I've danced around the subject off and on for three or four years now, but I'm honestly thinking about doing it for real this time. Maybe I've lost my edge or something, but I don't think I love fan fiction writing as much as I did when I first started out. Back then three reviews could have spurred me to write even if it was 'I like, update, more'. Sure I wasn't the best writer then, but I know I've grown leaps and bounds, despite my grammar. I'm still growing and I'm proud to say that a lot of people have favored my stories and me as an authoress. But as my skills improved I've found that I desire reviews that will help push me to improve and/or encourage me/ stroke my ego. That, however, has sorely been lacking for a lot of my stories and the alerts/favorites frustrate me because it shows that you guys like it, but won't put in the effort to tell me why.

So long story short, for better or worse, I'll try to update 6 times in 5 months for a few of my stories from different fandoms. By the beginning of June 2014, if I feel dissatisfied, I'm going to hang up my fanfic writing hat for good guys. If I do find that I'm loved I'll start writing again in August 2014 in time for an anime convention in Baltimore. I've thoroughly enjoyed my ten and a half years of writing and growing as an author, but I don't think I can put up with the disappointment of writing and feeling like some of my readers don't care. It doesn't mean I think all my readers don't care. I know there are tons of people out there who have written well thought out reviews from one or two sentences to mouth-watering paragraphs that have made me just itch to write just to see what you might say next. But as I look back at some of my reviews for inspiration for a new chapter I've realized that some of my reviewers write the same thing over and over again and I'm beginning to question why bother agonizing day in and day out how you might react to something in the story if no one tells me.

So if you have ever liked any of my stories, please remember to review. It doesn't have to be fancy but I need to know that I shouldn't retire. If I do retire, I'll keep my stories up for the rest of the year before deleting my account on here and the other websites. This might leave a lot of stories with unresolved endings but I will not be giving any of the stories up for adoption. I've put a lot of effort into my work, they are my children and I'd feel hurt to see someone else continuing on where I left off. So if I find anyone trying to adopt and finish my stories for me I will report you. But hopefully it won't come to that. =/
