Moon-chan: This is my latest Song-fic. I do not own Angel in the Night By: Basshunter nor do I own Young Justice. If I did own the show it would be on air still and Wally wouldn't be #### Sorry I don't like to curse. Any who enjoy and remember to review!

Angel in the Night

Artemis would never see herself in the way that Wally did. She was beautiful and every move that she made just pulled his heart ever more in love with her. She lit his darkness; the one that very few people even knew existed. Wally's world before her hadn't been the best. Course he had Dick and Roy, but they couldn't understand him. The way that he had to hide everything about his true self was his own abyss. His love of running had to be kept under wraps the entire time, he could no longer run track at school. He had to move right before high school so that he could leave that all behind and protect his secret identity. The bullies that he faced he couldn't fight back because his strength and speed were so much greater that he risked putting them in the ICU if he even tried. He felt like he had no control except when he had his suit on.

You are my light in the dark
You are the beating in my heart
But that is not enough
Will I ever be by your side

Working alongside Artemis was a breath of fresh air. She was afraid to fight him, heck she could take him down on one leg with a hand behind her back. After the Failsafe incident he worried nonstop that something would happen to her, something that he wasn't fast enough to protect her from. It was as though everything that he had ever feared could happen did in that instant. He still had nightmares about it even now, a good five and a half years later.

Your hair is dancing in the wind
Your eyes are burning off my skin
And I'm so happy when I see
That you are smiling back at me

Wally loved coming home to find Artemis sitting on the stairs waiting for him. More often than not this was the place that he would find her too when she was thinking or when she was trying not to dwell on bad memories from when she was a child. It was something that made him happen then, when he came home and found her sitting there a smile on her face as she petted Brucely.

You're leaving burn marks on the ground
Thank you God for what I've found
I don't know how, I don't know why
That you're my angel in the night

Artemis often thought that Wally was amazing. He accepted her the way that she felt no one else had. Her mother was great and all but she couldn't fill the hole that had been carved into her heart. It was as though that hole were made especially for Wally. He made her a better person. He left burn marks on the group when he occasionally forgot not to run in the apartment and stopped suddenly, the friction causing a small burn. Despite the danger, though he held her when she needed to comforted with her even saying a word. He was her Angel, even if he did wear ketchup and mustard.

You are my light in the dark
You are the beating in my heart
Let me hold you now
Just like days before you start to cry

It wasn't unknown to the rest of the team that the duo completed each other. In fact Robin, the first one mind you, was the one to start the League and Team wide bet about when the two would start dating. Green Arrow strongly resisted this idea until Black Canary took him aside and told him that it was out of his control.

You are my light in the dark
You are the beating in my heart
But that is not enough
Will I ever be by your side

Canary could pin point better than the other adults that worked with the teens when both Wally and Artemis had figured out their feelings for one another. She was after all; the one that had talked to each of them individually when they needed someone to talk to that they knew wouldn't judge them for what they thought. She found it intriguing that Wally was the last one to acknowledge his feelings, after all he was the one with the fastest processing speed in the group.

I try my best to satisfy
But all you do is wave me good-bye
I don't know what I'm gonna do
But I'm so crazy about you

When Artemis left for the mission, the one that put her under a deep cover, she hurt Wally. He didn't show it allowing her to think that his heart's cries were actually worry. He tried to satisfy her with their new life as civilians, but he knew that one point or another they would both eventually end up going back. It was who they were, an integral part of their characters. They could leave the life forever.

While she was gone he thought about her every day, and she him. It was their way of coping, after all they were crazy for each other.

Even if I don't know where to start
Even if my love is tearing me apart
I just know that you and me
We were always meant to be

She hadn't even been back for a few hours before they were torn apart again. He saved the world, but left her to without her light. She wouldn't let go though no matter how much it tore at her heart, she loved him and that was as much a part of her as her past.

You are my light in the dark
You are the beating in my heart
Let me hold you now
Just like days before you start to cry

When Barry told her that he was gone, that the last thing he told him to say was that he loved her caused something inside of her to shatter and break. It was as though she had died with him. Until that was she felt the little heart beat underneath her own. It was a reason for her to go on.

Nine months after Wally's disappearance two new lives were brought into the world. Iris Dinia West and Jai John West were born. They were the only reasons that her heart kept beating after her soul had left her.

When she felt like she was going to cry she felt as though he was right there with her holding her. Her light, her star, was holding her in his light and telling her it was alright to cry no one expected her to be emotionless, she was grieving. There was also a voice inside her head the whispered that he would be back.

You are my light in the dark
You are the beating in my heart
But that is not enough

Will I ever be by your side

It took a full year for Bart and Barry along with Jay to figure out what had happened to Wally. The only thing that explained it was that the very thing that gave them their power had sucked him in, and now was making sure that he lived. It was the only way to explain how Dr. Fate could still say that he was alive. Wally West was still kicking and they were going to get him back to Artemis before, despite her twins, left the world for real.

Wally appeared in the middle of the field. His eyes dazed and a full bread on his face. He looked around and not even noting the three people in the field with him their faces haggard. He zipped off following a light only he could see.

You're my angel in the night

When he arrived at the sources of the light he knocked his eyes now full of knowledge and he knew that a lot of time had passed since he had been home. When Artemis opened the door her eyes widened in shock even as her hands shook at her sides. Then in a typical response from her she punched him.

"Ow, babe. I know I deserved that, but can I have a kiss now. I really missed you," he said his eyes full of sorrow and remorse. Artemis didn't even answer she pulled him to her by the remains of his uniform and slammed his lips to hers.

The two separated when a cry was heard from behind them. "Oh, Wally you have to meet them."

It was Wally's turn to open his eyes wide in surprise. When he was pulled into their apartment he came face to face with his two children, a black haired baby boy with his mother's eyes and a red haired baby girl with her father's eyes. "These are your kids Wally," Artemis said her eyes searching his face for a reaction.

"What are their names," he asked his voice calm. She told him their names. The ones that she knew would make him happy. "Well I guess that leaves only one more thing to do then." He reached into his uniform pocket, that hadn't been destroyed in his disappearance. He knelt down on one knee and said, "I know I should have done this a long time ago, but would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

Again Artemis didn't answer in a normal way she reenacted her earlier answer, kissing him senseless. "HELL YES!" She exclaimed when they came up for air, she was not letting her light escape her again…and neither was he.
