Ritsu's P.O.V (point of view)

After a while of walking outside and simply conversing, Tenorio-san and I headed back inside. I heard her stomach make a growling sound so I asked her if she would like to get some refreshments. Of course she accepted with that smile she always does when relieved. I guess she didn't want to be rude and not tell me before, about her hunger I mean. As we walked towards the ballroom I thought about how she looked so beautiful in the moonlight. The way she carried herself tonight, seemed so different but at the same time familiar. Tenorio-san's air had such elegance tonight that me accompanying her seemed insulting even, since I was a yakuza. But for some reason that didn't bother her at all, the only other girl that didn't mind about my background was Haruhi and, well, she counts as a dude most of the time anyways.

The moment we entered the room, her eyes shot upward to where the chandelier was located. And at that very moment Tenorio-san's hazel eyes looked like, as stupid as this sounds, glowed the same way, is what I mean by they looking like stars… Why am I explaining myself in my head?!

I must've made an odd face since she looked at me with concern, in return I pointed at the food. That made her attention turn to another thing, good. While we walked I did my best to calm down and to think straight.

-"Hey Ritsu, do you want anything?" She asked sweetly, but I shook my head once again. Which caused a pout. -"Ah come on, I'm going to look like a fatty if you don't." She pleaded irrationally, sighing, I complied of course.

-"Is this enough for you?" I growled, accidentally of course, my yakuza tendencies always seemed to pop out naturally. But what I liked about Tenorio-san is that she didn't get scared of them, instead she just grimaced and went to look for a place to sit.

-"Oh mer gersh. This ferd is amerzing!" She exclaimed while eating.

-"Don't talk with food in your mouth." I reprimanded, while handing her a napkin, which she thankfully took. After a few moments I heard her jolt up and throw her plate onto a cart that had other dirty plates. Suddenly a hand appeared in front of my face.

-"Can I help you?" There I go again with my yakuza tendencies.

-"Don't give me that scowl Ritsu. I am simply offering my hand so that we can go over to the dance floor, and well, dance." She said in a sarcastic but teasing way.

-"You sound like those forsaken twins." I commented as I stood up from my seat and reluctantly took her hand. The moment I did, she rushed me to the dance floor. She then proceeded to wait for me to react. So I did what I had learned from Tamaki's dance lessons, put my hand on the lower part of her back, but not too low, and grasped her hand. As if on cue the orchestra began a new song, that was very lively. So I decided to take lead and began to move my feet to the rhythm of the music, that somehow became faster and faster with each step we took. But the moment we had adjusted, it went back to normal. Couples were moving swiftly just as we were, many of them going to our right and some to our left. Following their lead, I led Tenorio-san around the room. Smiling, I kept moving my feet to the music, liking how it felt to dance. But it ended with a pause of the orchestra changing songs. Soon a more soothing and relaxing waltz ringed throughout the halls of the room, so I once again repositioned myself and guided Rosalie-san to the center of the dance floor where all couples began dispersing. This time she let go of my hand and danced in a circle while other girls did as well. Us men, walked around the circle with our hands behind our backs.

-"We didn't know Bossa Nova could dance so well

-"Did we?" The Hitachiin twins passed by my side with a sneer, I returned this with a glare but did thank them since they were being sincere. The music once again paused once more so that the young men could go back to their partners. Before I could find Tenorio-san my right hand was clutched and Tenorio-san came into view in front of me with a smug smile on her face. We then waited for the next song to come on just staring at each others eyes.

-"Are you having fun?" She asked in a whisper. I nodded in response, and a small wave of pink materialized on her cheeks. That's when the music started again, we began to walk in circles around one another, still not looking away from each other's eyes. Switching hands, the young woman gracefully placed her hand on my left and then my right hand. With a smile, she turned and took hold of both of my hands while she faced outward. We began prancing about, carefully not wanting to hit anyone else. I wondered how she had learned to dance so well since she hadn't attended any dance lessons. Unexpectedly, Tenorio-san tripped and began to fall but luckily I caught her, and twirled her around until her body was directly in front of mine. I did this no one would notice her slip-up.

-"I'm sorry, these heels are much difficult to dance in than what I thought they would be." She apologized while looking down onto the floor.

-"It doesn't matter, at least you didn't injure yourself." I alleged truthfully.

-"Yeah thanks for that, that was an awesome catch."

-"I-I guess…"

-"Haha don't be so modest-

I quickly pressed her body on mine because the couple next to us decided to twirl too far out. Thankfully, the other girl missed Tenorio-chan, but I wasn't going to take anymore chances from them so I directed us to another part of the floor.

-"Uh, Ritsu you can let go now." My partner voiced with her cheeks getting rosy again.

-"Oh, sorry Tenorio-san… chan."

-"Ritsu, I already told you to call me by my first name." She reprimanded.

-"Rosalie-san? Is that better." I said sarcastically, apparently not.

-"Drop the 'san'."

-"Rosalie-chan?"

-"Yeah, but I'd prefer just my name by itself you know." She corrected once again.

-"Fine."

-"Fine, what?" Ok now she was pushing it.

-"Fine." I glared.

-"Say my name again, you need repetition so that you remember."

-"Are you calling me stupid?" My voice sounded a bit more cold than I had intended to.

-"If the foot fits the shoe, then yes."

-"You only say 'If the shoe fits'" This time it was my turn to correct.

-"Whatever, same thing." Rosalie-chan was about to stick her tongue out so I twirled her around three times while still waltzing throughout the room.- "Hey! you did that on purpose."

-"I have no idea what you are talking about."

-"Now you sound like Kyoya." She looked disgusted by that.

-"Sorry I thought you could take teasing." I replied slyly.

-"I can." She gave me this insulted look that made me chuckle for a moment.-"I can take as much teasing as you can give scowls, Ritsu." Now that was plain mockery. In return I gave her a glare, which caused her to tilt her head back slightly while giggling. When she did this her lips always curved in a cute way and her eyes seemed to giggle as well while looking as playful as her curly hair that bounces whenever she moves.

-"Is Bossa Nova smiling, Habara-chan?" We both heard Haninozuka ask near us, grunting I bowed my head acknowledging him and turned Rosalie-san around so we could head a different music gradually became softer, so the both of us lowered our pace, and when it went up to its normal tempo we both return to our normal pace. Though something odd was about the room, for example when we passed girls without a partner they would giggle. Soon enough Rosalie-san caught on too, giving me a puzzled look. I shrugged.

-"W-what are they giggling about." I heard her whisper to herself. I felt Rosalie-san was going to get self-conscious so we steered away onto the center where everybody was too busy dancing to notice us.

Kyoya's P.O.V

Sigh- dancing all around, with those silly expressions on their faces. They all look dull-witted, what's surprising is that the males are the ones that exhibit it more. No Kyoya, stop this nonsense. You are not in a bad mood, you are simply bored. Think of the increase the Host Club will gain after this Ball... Oh, Yassan-san has spotted me. It appears as it is my turn to dance- again.

-"Kyoya-sempai, would you like to dance with me?" The girl with green eyes and long jet black hair asked beggingly.

-"Why of course, no need to ask." I replied giving her an assuring smile, while grasping her hand delicately and lead her to the dance floor carefully. I then placed my hands in the right position, slightly moving my feet to the soft music. Yassan's expression turned like everyone else's, this uncanny smile mixed with blushing cheeks and hopeful eyes. But nevertheless it was my duty to endure this and be polite about it.

-"You look quite alluring this evening." I flattered. Yassan-san looked away for a brief moment and thanked me. I then proceeded to gradually take her to the middle of the dance floor, thinking maybe she'd see some other host and want to dance with them. It is not that I don't like Yassan-san, she can be smart if she wanted to. But to be truthful, I loathe dancing for long periods of time. If I dance I like to rest awhile, not to be asked five minutes in between what could I do? Duty called.

-"Kyoya-san, isn't that Rosalie-chan and Kasanoda-san?" Yassan asked while turning my attention to the girl with curly hair and the boy with red hair dancing gracefully in the center.-"Oh! They look so good together, they're not even a couple but can already feel the aura of love around them." She said dreamily.

-"Yes, it appears so…" I simply tried not to look at them, my annoyance would probably begin to rise. I don't understand why Rosalia-chan insisted in being such close friends with that yakuza. Everytime I think about them together, my blood boils. Why? I do not know. But I don't like it. What exasperates me more, is that she hates me. I am sure she does, though whenever I ask her all she does is laugh and tell me that we are frenemies. Friends that hate each other but love being in each other's presence. What absurdity! I swear that girl makes me want to-

-"Kyoya, I think I would like a glass of water. I have grown tired, but I want to thank you. Thank you for waltzing with me." Yassan said with a smile after the second song had ended. I neatly bowed to her as she left, then glanced at my surroundings, of course finding Rosalie-chan and Kasanoda-san still dancing. Walking away to my previous corner, I still kept an eye on them. While dancing, Kasanoda-san had tendencies to move around a lot. And every time he did, I don't know if this was intentional, but their bodies pressed together a bit more. This caused my displeasure to grow even more. Why is she still with him? She is supposed to be entertaining our guests, not just one of them or herself.' I thought thinking that it was my responsibility to inform her of this. I saw them retreat to the far right side of the room where some couches were situated. Seeing that this was my opportunity I began to walk over, but a thought stopped me. Why do you care she is with him all night? Sighing, I shook my head and tried to search for an answer. Because it makes me livid seeing them together so close. It is not proper. But yet again all the couples were doing the same and it didn't anger me. Sighing, I sat down on a chair to think clearly for a moment.

What if that was you, would you be livid at yourself…. Of course not, I wouldn't behave like that. Passing my hand through my hair, I calmed down with a sigh. Standing up, I proceeded to walk to where they were. Are you jealous? Was the questioned that passed through my thoughts as I approximated them.

-"Rosalia-chan, may I talk to you for a second?" She looked surprised, but complied with what I had asked for and stood up.

-"Yeah, what's up?"

-"I know that you already have a date, but you are with the Host Club and we need you to entertain our guests." I tried to sound as pleasant as I could rather than having a demanding tone. She raised an eyebrow before answering.

-"Hey Kyoya, are you feeling alright? You sound weird…"

-"I'm perfectly fine. Now I am sure Casanova-san will be alright being alone for an hour or so. But you need to own up to your responsability, besides you never informed any of us that you had a date tonight." I reprimanded.

-"The twins knew." Was all she said.

-"Yes, yes but they don't plan the activities do they?" I rubbed my temples.

-"Yeah, whatever. Don't go getting an aneurysm, kay? I'll do my job for an hour, then return to Ritsu." Rosalia-chan turned to leave but stopped. -"If that is fine with you, activity planner-SAN." She was getting bolder and bolder every day. Sighing, I shook my head,

-"No it's not. After that hour I still expect you to talk to the other guests if they look lonely." Instead of fighting, she waved her hand while she had her back to me walking away towards Kasanoda-san. To explain I suppose.

Ritsu's P.O.V

I knew something was up when Rosalie-san returned looking so stressed. I didn't want this evening to be a bad one, and I want her to have fun. So whatever Kyoya had to say, I'll simply comply.

-"Ritsu, I'm sorry to tell you this... But, um, I have to entertain guests for an hour or so..." She looked really beat up when she told me this. -"I'm really sorry! I don't want you to be alone for so long." Man did she feel that guilty? Before answering I took a quick scope of the place, trying to see if I knew anyone else. Sadly for her, I didn't.

-"Hey no sweat. Either way I needed some rest from dancing and an hour sounds pretty good to me. Plus I wanted to check in with the guys back in the syndicate, so this will give me plenty of time to call them." I re-assured her with a small smile and showed my cellphone. She looked pained by leaving, but what could she do? Reluctantly, Rosalie-san turned around and began to step away from me looking for people to entertain. Sighing, I stood up and headed outside for some fresh air. I guess a break did sound good right about now. Popping my shoulders and back, I decided to take another tour around and admire our decorations... well Rosalie-san's, I just helped with the water fountains. I began to chuckle to myself thinking how yesterday she had bonked, slipped and almost caused while decorating the fountain. It's always a wonder how everytime I think of her I find myself happier. Shaking my head, I took out my cell phone while looking for a quiet place to talk. Finding it, I dialed the syndicate's number.

-"Young Lord? How's the dance going, did Rosalie-san not go?" Tetsuya as always, sounded concerned.

-"Oh no she's here…" The thought of her tonight made me pause for a minute and had to recollect my thoughts quickly. -"I'm just calling to see how the guys are doing."

-"Oh don't worry about us Young Lord, just have fun tonight." Tetsuya reassured.

-"... Hmm, yeah ok. But call me if anything comes up, Rosalie-san… -chan. Rosalie, will understand." Darn it, now I was correcting myself on the phone because of that woman.

-"Yes, Young Lord."

He then hung up. Glancing down my watch said it had been twenty minutes since I had left the ballroom.

Sigh, now what to do. Maybe I'll go back inside and see how Rosalie-san is doing, from afar of course. That'll keep me occupied. No, you sound like an old creeper… that has nothing else to do. After reasoning in my head, I went inside but not to only observe Rosalie-san but everybody else. Because that sounds so much better…

Kyoya's P.O.V.

Half an hour had passed and it seemed that Rosalia-chan had obeyed my orders. That's good, making some progress on her. She was sitting in a circled couch surrounded by single girls and three all seemed to be having the time of their lives. I, on the other hand was still dancing non-stop. But somehow I felt more relieved seeing she was with more pleasant company.

-"Kyoya-sempai you just smiled, why is that?" My partner, named Ayami commented.

-"Oh why you are dancing so well, I couldn't help myself. I do beg your pardon if I startled you." I lied, partly, Ayami-san did have quite the skill for dancing waltzes. In response, she blushed mildly accompanied a thank you; while smiling. With a small chuckled, we twirled around and then glided across the dance floor. My partner was starting to look weary, so I suggested that we sit down and if she still wanted my presence I'd accompany her. Gratefully she accepted, letting her choose the place where to sit- where Rosalia-chan was hosting.

-"She has the most darling stories for a commoner, you ought to listen to them." She recommended with a grin. Nodding, we sat down with the party that were all wide eyed and looking at the curly haired girl.

-"And then what happened?" One girl squealed.

With a smug look on her face, she paused before responding. -"Well I accepted of course! You just can't say no to someone like that. So the rest of the evening was spent like so." I had no idea what she was talking about. But the rest of the company looked like they were about to faint.

-"Oh my, were you telling the tale about Julio Jordano again? Gosh I can't believe I missed it." Ayami dreaded with a small pout. The mexican girl smiled sweetly before announcing that because of Ayami's absence she was going to tell another story.

-"Oooh, tell us one that we haven't heard." A girl that was next to her requested.

-"Hmm, would you like to tell me a genre or topic that would be of your liking?" That of course caused an uproar and suggestions began to fill the air. Until a good customer of the Host Club raised her hand and asked that I give a suggestion.

-"Ah yes, why doesn't Kyoya-san give one?" Ayami-san voiced, and Rosalia-chan nodded in approval.

-"Why don't you enlighten me with a tale that is about the flirtatious nature of commoner boys. A little story that will make us laugh." I requested with some thought, the gaze she gave me was of reluctance but she bended to my request.

-"Well I do recall that I was with my friend in the movie theatre one afternoon and we decided that we wanted to order some popcorn for both of us to chow down during the movie," She paused to see if anyone needed some explaining but found no questions, so she continued. -"So when we were at the counter asking, there was another teenage boy taking our order. He wasn't that bad looking, if I remember well, but he had this weird air to him. Anyways, we got what we wanted and didn't question further-

-"And that's went wrong right?" This time it was a boy that interrupted, of course Rosalia-chan took a pause for dramatic effect. Then with a small but sly smile she continued her tale.

-"Naturally, us being teenage girls, we began munching on our treat as soon as we sat down." All the girls gazed at her curiously but Rosalia dismissed it.-"Funny thing is that, a couple bites into our popcorn I tasted paper." Everybody leaned forward.-" So I took it out of my mouth and inspected it." She paused and made as if she was inspecting a paper out of thin air.

-"What was on it?" Ayami interrupted, Rosalie smirked and placed the imaginary paper outwards so everybody could see.

-"It was his phone number, name and a winking smiley face." There was total silence before laughter erupted. After a few moments, I felt the need to question what happened afterwards.

-"Well it's simple, when the show was over instead of trashing it, I simply returned it to it's rightful owner." Laughter was once again heard.-"Though he looked at me weird, until he figured out that I was my friend's friend. He then apologized and took the paper from my hands." This time no laughter was heard.

-"Oh that must've been embarrassing."

-"For both of you." Pity filled comments was what now filled the air, but she waved them away.

-"Guys, guys. It's nothing, I'm totally used to it. I've never been the perfect type, being too light skinned and with this hair; I know I'm not that attractive." To my amusement she began to chuckle to herself. "Also I've always been too short. But! my brains make up for it." Again she surprised me by winking and having her eye glint afterwards. All the girls just giggled while the boys simply stared.

-"Nonsense Rosalie-chan, I think you're simply gorgeous! Especially tonight. Also I really admire your strong personality." Ayami alleged and soon the rest of the crowd followed as well. To be honest, I never expected Rosalie-san to have such good people skills. It amazed as well amused me to be in her presence.

-'What, do I have something on my face, Kyoya?"

-"Other than your beauty? No." That shut her up quickly, humorously she blushed as well. After that simple conversations between the group members. Some came and went, some people simply passed by slowly hearing Rosalie-san's tales and our input.I never thought that she had so many stories and that her life was so interesting even though she was a commoner. Suddenly she slapped her hands on her knees and shot up from her seat.

-"Well my time is up! I must return to my date, Ritsu. But if you feel like talking to me, feel free to approach us, I promise Ritsu doesn't bite. Also if you want to dance, I'd be happy to." With a huge grin, she made her way out. But stopped cold in her tracks.

-"Does any of you have a request before I take my leave?" She turned to face the group, for some reason Ayami-san's hand shot up like a bullet.

-"I want to see your dancing skills, but with a Host." OF course she eyed me, knowing that Rosalie-san wouldn't refuse her request.

-"Alright, let me find Tamaki and-

-"How about Kyoya-sempai? I mean he is right here." This sly girl, she noticed me glancing at her and now she was trying to play matchmaker. Internally sighing, I held out my hand. But this time I felt like I actually wanted to dance, as preposterous as it sounded. Probably because now I was rested. Reluctantly, the curly haired girl placed her hand on mine and forcibly smiled. We both walked to the dancefloor, amusingly she was clutching my hand intently while slightly shaking.

-"Don't get any ideas, Kyoya. I don't need more surprises like that afternoon." She voiced with pride and indignation while looking to the side.

-"I don't know what you mean, as far as I know I am a gentlemen to all." I returned slyly.

-"A bit too gentle." She whispered, then the music started. We twirled around since this time the song was prestto with staccato. This meant very few words would come from this girl's mouth since her attention would be set to her feet. I tried to be a more professional and did more fancy footwork.

-"Is that all you got?" She taunted while looking directly at me. Good girl.

-"Not quite." Our pace became faster with more twirls and this time I put some hand switching into it. But to my humour she seemed like it was no problem at all. She even let go of my hand and deliberately took hold of my other hand and did these fancy motions with our hands. Scoffing I put her back in place.

-"You do know that men are the ones that lead?" She ignored my comment and kept me on my feet. I wouldn't have any of this, it was preposterous that a woman would be the lead in waltzing. Without any warning my footwork changed causing her to almost to trip, a surge of enjoyment filled me.

-"Hey! play nice." She warned with a scowl, fairly similar to Kasanoda's; which made me think of that yakuza again. I had no ill feelings toward him, but thinking of them together… well, it was safe to say my blood began to boil. With a smirk, I came back to reality and kept enjoying the dance we were sharing. To be truthful, I felt the same pleasure or about the same pleasure when extra money appeared in the Host Club budget by surprise.

-"Hah, Kyoya?" Rosalie-san began to ask, I turned to face her with an impish expression.-"Heh, you're smiling Kyoya. And I don't mean smirking, I mean real smiling. Are you actually enjoying yourself?" To my surprise, she didn't mock or show any sarcasm in her comment, but she was wondering if we were really having a pleasurable time in the presence of each other.

-"To be fully honest…. why, yes I was. I am truly enjoying myself." Her jaw dropped.

-"Oh, I- uh, well that's good." Rosalie-san cleared her throat after that comment and without further protest she followed my lead. I could tell that she seemed troubled and had difficulty looking me in the eyes. Instead she eyed everything around her, having an uncomfortable air to her.

TUG

-"Hmm? What are you doing Rosalie-chan?"

-"The song just ended Kyoya and I want to get back to Ritsu as soon as possible."Still didn't look at me.

-"I'm sorry, I can't hear you. Your face is looking away." Teasing, I gazed at her more intently.

-"I said the song is over."

-"I beg your pardon?"

-"The song Kyoya!" This time she almost made eye contact.

-"Why, yes. Quite sorry, we should keep waltzing as it has just started. How silly of me."

-"No Kyoya, I-

She shushed while I twirled her around. We then began to swish, as a former customer described, back and forth. Her face was not happy of course.

-"I really need to get back to Ritsu, Kyoya."

-"What is the hurry? If it's time, then you still have plenty of it."

-"No, it's just… well, I don't want him to be all alone. You know he doesn't have many friends, and it torments me to bring him to a place just to leave him to be with himself." Pouting she looked around the room, probably looking for him. It pained me to think of them together, but she was right. I am no evil person to turn a blind eye to loneliness, it's against the Host Club's morals. And to be fair, they were each other's dates. Sighing, I couldn't take her pout any longer.

-"Fine. But finish this dance with me, and after this you don't have to Host anyone else. That is our job." It was pure torture what I had just voiced. If I could, Rosalie-san would be mine for the rest of the night, even if it meant dancing here in the Host Club we strive for smiles, and I had just achieved hers.

-"Thank you Kyoya! I know you had a heart somewhere." She giggled, making my heart beat faster.

-" Anything for a beautiful lady's smile and enjoyment." I said sincerely, though the only one smile I cared about was hers and the Host Club's. With a small blush she nodded and continued to smile throughout the rest of the song.

-"Thank you Kyoya, for the two waltz'. I enjoyed the latter more, but they were to my enjoyment." Rosalie thanked formally with a bow. It was my turn to bow.

-"No, no. The pleasure was all mine, Miss Rosalie-chan." During my bow, I grasped her hand lightly and planted a soft kiss on her she retreated her hand, quickly I might say. I lead her to where I had spotted Ritsu a while ago, thinking how smooth her hand felt upon my lips. Wondering then, how would her cheeks feel? Maybe her lips would be even silky smooth.

Ritsu's P.O.V

I was astonished when I saw Tenorio-chan dancing with Kyoya-sempai. They always were arguing or mocking each other, it seemed weird to see them dancing without a wrinkle in their brow. Instead, they both looked very graceful and elegant; like they were actually an item. At moments, I couldn't see them, but the times I did, they seemed at peace with each other. Until the second dance did I feel a bit of jealousy because Rosalie-san was giving him a really cute smile. That's when it dawned on me.

How could I really fit in her world? A lowly viewed yakuza with a beautiful looking princess like her? She deserved better, someone like Kyoya-senpai or Tamaki-senpai. They could do a better job of taking care of her than I could. I thought to myself until I was interrupted by a small hug around the upper part of my arm.

-"I'm so, so, so sorry. I was away more than I told you I was going to be." I heard an apology close to my ear. Naturally, my blood rushed to my face.

-"I-It's alright, no need to apologize. I didn't feel that long to be honest." I lied, I just wanted her not to beat herself a nod and a smile she stood up and tilted her head a little.

-"So what do you want to do now?"I could sense a bit of teasing-ness in her voice. Standing up I shrugged.

-"Whatever makes you smile is fine with me." What kind of answer is that?!

-"That's easy! Anything as long as we can both laugh and converse." Dang that was smooth, since when does she flirt like that? Maybe she's still in Host mode.

-"Alright, let's fish for something… not literally though." She laughed heartily at my comment.

-"Haha, look at that. We haven't moved and we're already having fun."

For the next three hours we played some mini games that were situated in another section of the outside part of the ball. We then danced some more, conversed with Honey and Mori-senpai for a while. Ate again, but this time it was only pastries. Talked with Haruhi and the Twins, who mocked most of the time. Were tackled by Tamaki-senpai, had a conversation with him as well and now we were simply walking around the maze. She was looking at all the flora and fauna, occasionally sighing with satisfaction. Gazing at each flower with such a caring nature, I swear in the moon she looked even more perfect. Nothing like a guy like me could ever aspire to have. Noticing I was staring, she smiled and pointed at a blue rose.

-"You know blue roses actually exist? People think they don't because so many florists paint their roses. Other than blue roses, baby's breath is my favorite flower. Both are simple but beautiful, they truly compliment the bouquet of over-radiant flowers." She began to say, whispering and admiring the small blue rose. She had kneeled down to better observe it.

-"Well, yeah I suppose." I didn't know how to respond.

-"Have you ever wondered why we have favorite things?"

-"Not really. I guess we like something so much we just find them better and more special than all the rest in that category."

-"True… but think a bit deeper. Why do think they always ask about our favorite things in personality quizzes?" Rosalie-chan hadn't stopped gazing at the flower.

-"Uh, well I assume because they ultimately have to do with our inner self." Gosh that sounded too unmanly and corny.

-"Bingo!" She stood up while responding and signaled me to follow her when she began walking away. -"Things we love have to do with what we yearn to be or what we truly are inside."

-"How do you know which one is which?"

-"Well that's simple." The girl placed her index finger to her chin and commenced to tap her chin.-" If you observe hard enough, when someone says someone is their favorite person or a game, movie, etc. It means that's what they yearn to be, you're not going to like someone if they are exactly the same as you. Usually humans tend to favor people who are better than themselves."

-"Alright." I silently began to wonder why were we on this topic.

-"Why is baby's breath my favorite, Ritsu?"

-"You just said so." She raised her eyebrow. -" Because they compliment show off plants."

-"Once again, try to think deeper." Rosalie-chan sounded mature. Her voice sounded as if I was talking to an adult.

-"Huh. erm, you like it because… you- yourself compliment show off people. You are really just a background flower that has beauty of it's own but chooses to stay in the backdrop of things. Supplementing others, helping them achieve their true potential by not taking any credit and most of the time being unnoticed." Smiling, the girl nodded and sat down on a concrete bench.

-"Does that change your perspective of me tonight now?"

The heck is she asking? What does she mean, why the random sly look on her face? Wait.

-"Keep thinking Ritsu." A voice with some cunning sound to it interrupted my thoughts.

Did she notice me staring at her and Kyoya-senpai while dancing? H-How does she know my feelings during the waltz they shared? I mean, I'm pretty sure she couldn't see me while dancing so why is she asking this.

-"Almost there." I glared at her involuntarily, but her sly smile didn't go away.

Only thing that comes to mind, is well. Nothing to be honest.

-"Describe me yourself Ritsu." Well that was out of the blue.-"Ok, think it but don't tell me."

Ok now I think she might've eaten something rotten. Sighing, I still complied to her request, wanting know why was she talking like this.

-"Did being Rosalie's date to the Ball one of them? Or being her friend perhaps?" Surprised I shook my head. She then stood up and came closer to where I was standing.

-"As you can see, I'm not a part of your personality or person in the least. If someone asked you to tell them about yourself, you obviously wouldn't tell them about our friendship, right?" Shook my head again and she came closer once again.-"Then don't beat yourself down when you are near me. I compliment what is already radiant and needs not to change. Not the other way around… Ritsu." With every word Rosalie came a step closer, and until she was about to whisper my name did she stop. After whispering my name her hands slowly went over my suit. She started to brush off the dirt from it. My heart of course wouldn't shut up. And neither would my thoughts. Suddenly she stopped and gazed at my eyes. For some reason she was searching for something, and found it. What? I don't know. I mean a woman's mind is pretty hard to figure out. While I dwindled in my thoughts I felt arms wrap around my chest.

Other than time stopping, so did my breathing. My head spinned and I couldn't focus. What was wrong with me? It was just a hug, Americans hug their friends all the time. Maybe she's just showing me that costum… but her breathing. It had stopped too. Her warmth felt better than anything I had ever experienced. Slowly, reluctantly; my arms rose to meet her back. Steadily, my arms wrapped around her back; making her come even closer to my body. For a split second I heard her gasp and grasp my suit. Then, to my dismay, she let go.

-"R-Ritsu, I, uh I'm sorry. Seems like I got carried away. I do apologize for my-

For whatever reason, this pissed me off. Why was she apologizing for something that made me feel so different? Not noticing, in my anger I had pushed her down on the bench and was now towering over, one arm on the head of the bench near her shoulder. The other, close to her right leg. Her eyes widened, not knowing to be scared or just surprised.

-"Are really sorry?"

-"I-I just apolo-

-"No! I mean…" I tried to tone my voice down a bit. -" I mean, do you mean it. Are really truly sorry for what you just did." Her gaze dropped. I tilted my head to still see her face, but to my surprise her cheeks had flushed. Her whole face was redder than before.

-"No…." I barely heard her response. Sighing, my head lowered and stopped being tense.

-"Good, because I'm not either." Her head jolted up in response, with a small grin. Even so to me it seemed as if she was at one of her happiest moments in her life. Softly giggling, she pushed her bangs back but they decided not to stay put. Out of reflex I repositioned her hair.

Gradually our faces commenced to go forward. Her cheeks rosy and eyes reluctantly closing. My feelings were.. well I didn't know this feeling was but it made my face burn.

Some rustling was heard nearby, but neither of us cared. Our faces were becoming to be inches away. Her eyes batted open, giving me a glimpse into her heart that reflected through her eyes. The rustling became louder and louder by the seconds.

Both of us looked away and sighed. Helping her up, we embraced what was coming.

-"Rosalie-chan~ It's time to leave." The twins jumped into our scene-"...Oh." They looked at us for a split second and already knew what almost had happened. Without wasting time they scoffed, turned around and sprinted away. With a small groan, Rosalie turned to face me.

-"Looks like I have to leave, and get teased."

-"Sorry." Was all I could manage to say. I got punched for that.

-"Don't apologize for something you aren't sorry for." She reprimanded.

-"Sorry." Yep, I'm quite the conversation maker. Scoffing in a light hearted manner, the girl signaled me to lower my stature to hers. Unexpectedly I felt lips, gently planted on my right cheek. A small peck was what it really was, but it was the world to me at the moment.

-"B-Bye Ritsu. I'll, uh, see you later…" Before I could say my goodbye's, she sprinted off as well. I exhaled and gathered the strength to call the syndicate.

-"Yes Young Lord?" Tetsuya answered.

-"The Ball's over, I need someone to come over to pick me up."

-"... Yes, Young Lord. I take that this dance took most of your energy since you are not walking home? Must've gone better than expected." Right on the spot. Man it hurt to be read so easily.

-"Just pick me up, okay?" I growled. But in all honesty, the Ball went much better than I had ever expected.

Surprise! Here's your late Christmas gift~ I hope you guys like this chapter cause I'm pretty proud of it! I think it's a cute chapter as well as a insider. It shows you how the love interests are thinking. Also it shows some realization for the three characters that they have feelings for each other. I think Rosalia is going to have some conflict. Hehe, but enough for spoilers~ Please review and THANK YOU. Thank you for keeping up with me and reading.
